    Wow 30% European ancestry, that’s pretty high. It’s interesting Afro-Carribeans and Afro-Americans are basically genetically mulattoes rather just African descent population but they identifying themselves only on African “black” side.

      The identity comes from their history. Their ancestors were brought over by Europeans as slaves and in many cases, their Europeans blood was that of their slave masters. So many in the Diaspora make decision to not identify with those people and their ancestry.

    • @kwekuacheampong1464
      @kwekuacheampong1464 Před rokem +1

      @barguttobed We speak English. Barbados was the earliest place in the Caribbean to stop bringing in new slaves from Africa because the population was successfully able to reproduce itself despite the brutality of slavery. Consequently, the English dialect has less creole or African influences than many other islands in the Caribbean.

      @barguttobed Well, the government of Barbados was pretty wise, and invested in education early during the 1950s & 1960s. Barbados is a small island with few natural resources, so the government wisely invested in human capital.

    I've been told by Americans, black and white, telling me I have a "Caribbean/Islander look". I'm Bajan myself. They described it as how Asians are all Asian but looks different and that they can tell I'm not a foundational Black American. Never heard that before until I came to Ameica. Very interesting.
    Proud Bajan tho! Big up #246! 🇧🇧🫶🏾

    This Polish genetic community is quite surprising to be honest, considering that this sample didn't get any East European.

    • @doubleutee2100
      @doubleutee2100 Před 6 měsíci

      The Ashkenazi likely is the East European. According to Martin Richards, an Archaeogeneticist from the University of Huddersfield in England, the majority of their DNA is European. The majority settled in Poland around the 12th century, and their DNA has been studied by Dr. Harry Ostrer a pathology, pediatrics, and genetics professor from NYC's Albert Einstein College of Medicine. They're closely related to one another. The majority of their MTDNA lineage came from Eastern Europe, and the majority of their Y-DNA came from Near Eastern lands centralized in the land previously known as KHAZARIA. The true people of the holy Bible? That's a different story altogether.

    Although real African ancestors of modern Afro-Caribbean originally from West Africa and had 100% Sub Saharan west Bantu descent 4:00 population closeness shows groups like Fulani who have considerable Caucasoid admixture similar to that of Berbers, the reason is because Afro-Caribbean European ancestry shifts them closer to other African populations with West Eurasian admixture and makes more distant from populations with uniquely Sub Saharan ancestry.

    • @kwekuacheampong1464
      @kwekuacheampong1464 Před rokem +3

      Well, populations like the West African Fulani tribe have some ancestry from the Middle East as they were converted to islam long ago. The Fulani are a nomadic tribe that encompasses the African countries that Afro Caribbean people originally came from. So Caribbean people have Middle Eastern admixture, which got into their DNA long before the arrival of European populations.
