chody another good one (from a weaker film) is Dodgeball. About midway Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and the director fake an argument and all walk out. The producers recording the commentary resort to playing one from a Coen brothers film. So you know have these two masters of their craft talking about let's say Millers crossing, over a stupid sports comedy. It shouldn't work but it does.

Being a movie aficionado you probably picked up on this but this whole movie is a pastiche of Hollywood. Ben Stiller as the one-in-a-lifetime-role actor who tries his hardest to reappear on the scene again, RDJ as the method actor who always takes things too far including off-screen, Jack Black as a genre actor who feels like he desperately needs to change genres, Tom Cruise as the producer with a god complex, and so on. This is the ultimate Shakespearean "play within a play" movie. It's a parody of Hollywood and rightfully it received so much praise in awards ceremonies when it came out. It became a classic the year it came out, it still is to this day, and it will carry on being a classic for many years to come.

Always love your reactions. I guess we have a new scale for how to measure your reaction to comedies - how many times you snort when laughing. I believe you had 3 during this. I bet if you watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail we will get at least 5 more snorts from you.

You stepped on some of RDJ's best lines!!
"I'm a dude, playin' a dude, who's playing another dude," and
"Never go full retard." That last scene probably triggered some people, but it was still funny. RDJ also symbolized actors who are self-absorbed and go method to an absurd degree. He's an American, who played a white Ozzie, who played a black American. LOL.

So fun fact. Tom and Ben are great friends in real life. And Ben asked him to take a look at the script, and Tom was like "its missing something, where's the studio?" And then, Tom asked if he could keep the script for the day and do some rewrites. And so Tom literally, wrote his own character from scratch lol

    Tom Cruises best role ever.
I believe Ben Stiller let Tom read the script not for a part but just to get his opinion and he immediately wanted that role, and a bald cap, and a fat suit, and wanted to dance to rap music. So Ben went "okay".

This movie was an astoundingly beautiful tribute to the men lost during the Vietnam War. This piece of art valiantly depicted the heroism, brotherhood, and sacrifice displayed among the shadows of warfare. Definitely a contender of the greatest war film along masterpieces including Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, and Platoon.

Big risk for RDJ to roll out with this while also (to put lightly) doing spectacular black face. All worked out well and we can give massive credit to to the BEN STILLER!! stars align only ever so often. love your work my lady!

Pretty certain Tugg Speedman, Ben Stiller’s character, is supposed to be a parody of Tom Cruise. His quiet but manic intensity, his body language, the way he speaks to the other characters, him going from calm to crazed to calm again on a dime, the fact that he runs in pretty much all of his films, etc.
I mean, just rewatch the scene with Lazarus finding Speedman in the village, and picture Tom Cruise saying all of Speedman’s dialogue. It fits too well. lol
