    By the way, the intake air is hot because it's gotten compressed, not because the exhaust is hot. That's just a property of gases, they heat when compressed and cool when expanded.

    two things wrong in this video. one, for the first 1k miles you shouldn't let the car go above 4500 rpm. 2nd who would want to buy a car they just watched you beat the shit out of before it has been broken in.

    • @aujla7564
      @aujla7564 Pƙed 8 lety +1

      I would say it's fine if the engine is warm and you've got a good engine oil and high octane fuel

      This isn't the 80s anymore, you don't need to break a car in like in the past...even warming up your car isn't like how it used to be...today's fluids are much more advanced...please watch any factory video, each automaker revvs the hell out of each motor to ensure everything is spotless before putting it in the engine bay and in many cases especially for special sport variants like the STIs, each vehicle gets driven by a technician before being shipped out...where else do you think the first 10-20 miles come from?
      On a side note, my personal concern is how quickly he shifted from 3rd to 4th..if you watch the video in slow motion, he is literally already trying to push it into 4th while his leg is still going all the way down on the clutch and then finally it goes all the way in when his leg travel stops..when there are mechanical parts in direct control you really need to ensure everything has that split moment to actually allow the parts to move :s rip synchros

    I just purchased this same WRX STI Limited. What this car can do is incredible. I also have a base 2014 370Z. Talking about cars with different personalities. The Z is soooo smooth and classy.The WRX makes you work. I love the WRX noise - gives a sensation of riding a nasty race car. You can't go wrong with either car; they are so much fun to drive.

  • @jdm4087
    @jdm4087 Pƙed 8 lety +57

    Really... What a terrible way to break in a new car. Aggressive shifting, staying in 4th/5th gear on freeway, and cruising in high RPM... Sucks for whoever buys the car.

    • @Muldaak
      @Muldaak Pƙed 8 lety +4

      @tehstylz5517 Pƙed 8 lety +10

      How's that a joke? Yes, obviously cars like this are meant to be driven aggressively but AFTER their break in period which is usually about 1k miles.

    • @yeahnah7220
      @yeahnah7220 Pƙed 7 lety

      It's not 1965 anymore. I'd bet on the car not giving the owner one iota of trouble whilst he has it the 2 years before most likely trading it in for the new model. As a younger bloke about to get my licence working in retail and having to wheel a new bbq out to a customers brand new '98 HSV Maloo Ute that was full of plumbing work gear. I was like, 'whoa you use this for work'? His response was, 'your a long time dead mate'. Meaning of the story being, enjoy life and live for today cause who knows whats around the corner.

    I notice a lot of old people leave their hands on the gear selector in standard cars. I know the wrx/sti don’t have great arm rests but damn man keep your hand of the gear selector and ease into the shifts. Remember clutch in, select gear, gas, clutch out. All one fluid motion. Poor sti

    the car looks really great from the outside and the inside. But the inside only looks good for about 15 seconds. After that you see that the quality isn't that good. I mean, just look at the seat heaters. The positioning of the buttons looks cheap. I really like this car from the look. But it isn't worth 45k € (I live in Germany btw). For that money I get a good German car where the quality is just correct.
    But I want a car, that is really uncommon in our streets. I havent seen that car before (maybe one time, but not sure). A BMW is everywhere. Or an Audi.
    But the Video quality, how you shot your video is really good. And this video in general shows the whole car perfectly. Really nice review and in detail.

    That dealership employee has absolutely no clue about cars, he doesn't even know what redline is and his shifting is horrible! He tries to brag saying "I,m in 3rd going 60" way to call yourself out on being completely ignorant.... beating on a new car like that is crazy weather you believe in a break in period or not. His shifting made me literally cringe. 29:47

    Everytime I look at a Subaru I try to see how many Toyota components I can find. I see the starter button, the turn signal and wiper stalks, the door knobs with the touch ridges and the "beep beep" locking chime. Not that its a bad thing considering Toyota (or rather Denso) makes solid parts. But I guess it makes sense considering Toyota has 25% stake in Fuji Heavy Industries.

    I have this car for 8 months now and I’ve driven it about 4 months. First thing I had to change the clutch. It was in the shop for like a month. Then, someone cut me off and I ended up hitting them, the car was at the shop for like 2 weeks, then finally the car somehow ran out of oil and never got the “low oil” light come on. The car has been at the shop for the last month

    Why is it that most people don't use the automatic climate control when their car is equipped with it? All you have to do is set the temperature but instead people set the temp for "LO" and then turn the fan speed to where they want it. Basically, you have turned auto temp control to manual temp control. If the fan speed is too high, you just increase the temperature. Seriously 95% of reviewers seem to not know how auto temp control work!! 99% of the car owners also don't use the auto-temp control

    lol you shift gears like your pulling rope, just relax and you can shift faster.

      I agree. In many of the STi videos, the drivers are forcing the shift into gear. I don't think the drivers are use to the shorter throw. I notice the same problem when I let my friends drive my car (2017 STi limited.)

    Wow, as a 2015 STi owner I can tell you first had it is incredibly stupid and useless to have the LOCKERS on while driving on a paved road without any snow dirt of mud. SMH

    Is this a car that can/meant to be able to commute in snow? I can be called in the middle of the night to work during snow storms. I also want this car for its obvious other advantages. Thanks.

      ripperx444 In Japan the STi has the FA20 while the US version still gets the older EJ25. Americans still like their torque I guess. Hopefully the next generation STi will adopt the FA20 or some form of it.
