I didn't drive the car... that was a dealership employee.
MikesCarInfo Yo how much does it cost to pay for in full
MikesCarInfo
By the way, the intake air is hot because it's gotten compressed, not because the exhaust is hot. That's just a property of gases, they heat when compressed and cool when expanded.
Thanks :)
two things wrong in this video. one, for the first 1k miles you shouldn't let the car go above 4500 rpm. 2nd who would want to buy a car they just watched you beat the shit out of before it has been broken in.
I would say it's fine if the engine is warm and you've got a good engine oil and high octane fuel
+Sartaj Aujla obviously you don't know how shit subarus engines can be when not taken care of
+ShotgunGGjr 77 I've owned a subaru engine...on my gt86....but I bought it with 50k kilometers
He also went full throttle in 5th gear..
This isn't the 80s anymore, you don't need to break a car in like in the past...even warming up your car isn't like how it used to be...today's fluids are much more advanced...please watch any factory video, each automaker revvs the hell out of each motor to ensure everything is spotless before putting it in the engine bay and in many cases especially for special sport variants like the STIs, each vehicle gets driven by a technician before being shipped out...where else do you think the first 10-20 miles come from?
On a side note, my personal concern is how quickly he shifted from 3rd to 4th..if you watch the video in slow motion, he is literally already trying to push it into 4th while his leg is still going all the way down on the clutch and then finally it goes all the way in when his leg travel stops..when there are mechanical parts in direct control you really need to ensure everything has that split moment to actually allow the parts to move :s rip synchros
Hilarious the answer he gave to "whats it redline at". Totally over his head.
The way he shift gears is just terrible sorry bro
the way he shifted seem really heavy lol
I agree
I just purchased this same WRX STI Limited. What this car can do is incredible. I also have a base 2014 370Z. Talking about cars with different personalities. The Z is soooo smooth and classy. The WRX makes you work. I love the WRX noise - gives a sensation of riding a nasty race car. You can't go wrong with either car; they are so much fun to drive.
Remind me to never buy a car from this dealership.
Why?
@@Alex6RFZ Because the sales guy who drove the car in this video did so many things wrong to that brand new STI which was bad for the vehicle, and he had no idea what the was talking about.
His shifting is so sketchy he hurts my eye to see him destroy the engine like that... Not to mention how he keeps his hand on the gear making it wear out faster :/
Really... What a terrible way to break in a new car. Aggressive shifting, staying in 4th/5th gear on freeway, and cruising in high RPM... Sucks for whoever buys the car.
You're joking right? These cars are made to handle that, read about what they do to WRX's...
How's that a joke? Yes, obviously cars like this are meant to be driven aggressively but AFTER their break in period which is usually about 1k miles.
It's not 1965 anymore. I'd bet on the car not giving the owner one iota of trouble whilst he has it the 2 years before most likely trading it in for the new model. As a younger bloke about to get my licence working in retail and having to wheel a new bbq out to a customers brand new '98 HSV Maloo Ute that was full of plumbing work gear. I was like, 'whoa you use this for work'? His response was, 'your a long time dead mate'. Meaning of the story being, enjoy life and live for today cause who knows whats around the corner.
JDM408 I believe they break it in before they sell it
Kubz nah they don't. Most cars have to go through at least 1k miles for the break in period.
So much for doing the 1500mile/4k rpm break in period.. 20miles in and redlining the shit out of it..
that's why when I got my new car I made them find me one with no more than 5 miles on it
Stunning. Drove one back in the 90s... bit different now with all that tech. And, yep, the dealer employee rides like a bull in a china shop. You can drive a car hard without treating it like crap.
making me wanna get the new sti lmao just got my Class A CDL license and will be on the road shortly I'll be looking at 1 of these soon
I notice a lot of old people leave their hands on the gear selector in standard cars. I know the wrx/sti donât have great arm rests but damn man keep your hand of the gear selector and ease into the shifts. Remember clutch in, select gear, gas, clutch out. All one fluid motion. Poor sti
Thanks for providing such a thorough (and in 4K!!!!) overview. Very helpful. Subbed.
I love that the hood scoop is actually real unlike on. other cars
Yes nigga
Actually, if the hood scoop comes stock from the factory, it is MOST likely a functional hood scoop. If it was added by the person afterwards, 0.001% chance it's actually functional.
***** actually false.. dodge ram 1500 sport come with a hood scope stock, and it's fake
Alex Tran Did I not say MOST likely?
+Ace What? No. Ford is notorious for putting fake scoops on their 90s and 00s mustangs. If someone puts an aftermarket hood with a scoop chances are they need it for an aftermarket turbo system.
great idea... before buying any car like this ask the dealership guys if you can go for a ride along instead of a test drive. decide from there depending on how they treat the car
The car is awesome, motor sounds beautiful, the drivers shifting is terrible. Where did you lear how to drive standard? You are suppose to enjoy driving standard to create a smooth and enjoyable driving, that is the whole purpose of standard driving. Nice video.
This 2017 interior looks AMAZING compared to previous yrs.
I have a 2014 STI, but damn I love the interior of the newer model STIs. It's the only thing that makes me regret my purchase. I do prefer the exterior look of the 2011-2014 tho.
just bought mine on sunday.. no regrets its amazing
Great review. There were a few things I'd have liked for you to mention (super sport ABS, more about the center diff auto modes, etc) but only people like me would actually care about it.
Can't wait for the next gen STI, I want it to get the new FA engine.
elusivellama when is the next gen sti?
the car looks really great from the outside and the inside. But the inside only looks good for about 15 seconds. After that you see that the quality isn't that good. I mean, just look at the seat heaters. The positioning of the buttons looks cheap. I really like this car from the look. But it isn't worth 45k ⏠(I live in Germany btw). For that money I get a good German car where the quality is just correct.
But I want a car, that is really uncommon in our streets. I havent seen that car before (maybe one time, but not sure). A BMW is everywhere. Or an Audi.
But the Video quality, how you shot your video is really good. And this video in general shows the whole car perfectly. Really nice review and in detail.
That dealership employee has absolutely no clue about cars, he doesn't even know what redline is and his shifting is horrible! He tries to brag saying "I,m in 3rd going 60" way to call yourself out on being completely ignorant.... beating on a new car like that is crazy weather you believe in a break in period or not. His shifting made me literally cringe. 29:47
Almost as nice as a C class in there. Pretty cool!
21 miles and he's beating the piss out of it. I want to buy from there!
My dream car! Giving me goosebumps
I like this setup with the drive and interior reviewing...makes the channel better and the videos are alot more interesting g
Looks so much better in 4k.
Limited Brother. Living north of Chicago IL. I would Love to put a set of ZR Blizzaks on one :)
rip to that transmission @ 11:59
Beautiful. If I ever get the money I will grab one pronto
Honestly all the attention goes to the front of this car. If that spoiler wasn't there the sides and back would look average. It'd be nice to update the back to look a little better
wow, this was a really good review. I like how you mentioned everything, you didnt miss anything.
Everytime I look at a Subaru I try to see how many Toyota components I can find. I see the starter button, the turn signal and wiper stalks, the door knobs with the touch ridges and the "beep beep" locking chime. Not that its a bad thing considering Toyota (or rather Denso) makes solid parts. But I guess it makes sense considering Toyota has 25% stake in Fuji Heavy Industries.
but....its toyota who stole the start button from subaru, subaru has had the same start button since they started with start buttons, toyota took theirs from subaru.
I have this car for 8 months now and Iâve driven it about 4 months. First thing I had to change the clutch. It was in the shop for like a month. Then, someone cut me off and I ended up hitting them, the car was at the shop for like 2 weeks, then finally the car somehow ran out of oil and never got the âlow oilâ light come on. The car has been at the shop for the last month
I wish you better luck in the future :)
this is why I chose to order my 2017 and not buy one off the lot.. beating on a brand-new car wtf.. I'll be the first one to rip a fart or hit boost in mine no doubt
Subaru has done a Great Job making a generic speed-racer Look great Inside. And The Seats do KICK- A$$ Hallelujah !
Thank you for the detailed look at this car :)
nice quality! 7:48: you even see the dust, when starting the ventilation!
Hot air from the turbocharger is almost entirely the result of compression, not proximity to exhaust gases
Literally says in the manual for the break in period NOT to go WOT đ€Łđ€Łđđđđ
I have hawkeye WRX 2007 in rare black & black wheels with 42,000 miles on clock. Much the same car.
It's for sale for ÂŁ9,000
Thanks for the excellent video sir. Extremely comprehensive. Makes me want to trade in my 2005 STi!
the infamous right front speaker grille pop up
I looked at one in Libertyville IL Today - Nov 1 2016- 75 degrees in North IL is a Gift.. Awesome Car... And the Mitsubishi is not as reliable- Fact...
Awesome video on an awesome car i really like that you put the writing on screen for more information. Thanks for posting Mike
cudos for pressing the panic button. I love seeing random stuff like that about a car!
Was this car sitting on the lot for so long Charlotte decided to make a web at 0:11? Just giving you a hard time. Thanks for posting in 4k. It's a great looking car!
That was again, another amazing video! Keep up the great work Mike :)
I love your recent Subaru kick Mike! Keep it up!
I must say my 2007 Acura TL-Type-S 8" Nav touch screen is the best I have ever had. The 3rg Gen Type-S Is awesome. I have owned several.. This Car- modded to run 0-60 in 4.0 Is My idea of the perfect car without spending Mega $$ Then there is the Porsche 911 Turbo Conv :) 0-60 in 2.6 :) That's what I want and Don't need :)
I own one and love it!
lol when he said the gas on the passenger side so the passenger can pump the gas for you... that's so funny.. Is that why it was designed that way?
Randy R gonna start telling my gf that
Lol... my Mazda 3 gas is on the right side.. but my new Mercedes CLA 45 is on the left.. hah
general question: how do keyless entry systems work for when you only want to open a particular door (any specific 1 door) vs opening them all for passengers
It can be set to open the door you are on only or all the doors. It is typically in the settings on the main screen.
Love it.. Back seat needs an Armrest..
Why doesn't my sti have that rear mirror? I have a limited
did they fix the head gasket issue with the new models? ej25 gasket failures.
i had that same issue trying to put it on 6th gear lmao 13:00
i wouldn't buy this after seeing you beat the shit out of it.....
Finesse it dammit!
Could u do a Ford F-150 2016 mike pls

Really good review. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and your feedback :)
Thanks Much. After owning 20 new cars and trucks. I had a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS that I put Blizzak 18" wheels-tires @ Tirerack. My list is small. 2017 Camaro Conv.. BMW 2M series. But having a Toyota Sienna Van, and a Mint 2007 Acura TL Type-S , A-Spec - modded. This is the car I think would be the most Fun. Get Rid of the Acura- Awesome. Keep the Van. and No way Black. Owned Several .. Blue of Pearl White.. Thanks Much for the Awesome Video- God- Jesus Bless & Grace U- family & Friends :) SWEET...
Iâll buy your Acura it better be the 6 speed tho
You guys should read the comment he pinnedđ then delete your hate comments
love your vids, keep it up
he keep the rpms high enough good lord bro shift
does anyone knows foglight and highbeem bulb size in limited edition?
Thansk for the informative review
awesome review..are you using rode videomic go?
This might be a dumb question but on cars with hood scoops or ram air what happens if you drive in a heavy rain won't the water get into the air filter and possibly even into the engine itself?
Derek Joon No. basically it's a bunch of fins that increase surface area to cool. If anything rain could help
My dream carrđ€đ€
ringland in 4k!
I FUCKING love this car
Very good video! Love it
Thank you :)
oh i want this car so bad. except the sunroof
Came on man! WTF are you with your hand on the shifter!!?
You can tell he doesn't really drive manual cars đ€Šđœââïž
hi can you review the2018 one plz
Did you guys know, the seats are comfortable?
Why is it that most people don't use the automatic climate control when their car is equipped with it? All you have to do is set the temperature but instead people set the temp for "LO" and then turn the fan speed to where they want it. Basically, you have turned auto temp control to manual temp control. If the fan speed is too high, you just increase the temperature. Seriously 95% of reviewers seem to not know how auto temp control work!! 99% of the car owners also don't use the auto-temp control
I use it everyday :)
pdgable personally ... I never do because I want manual control over everything...imho I would like less automatic everything on cars.
lol you shift gears like your pulling rope, just relax and you can shift faster.
I agree. In many of the STi videos, the drivers are forcing the shift into gear. I don't think the drivers are use to the shorter throw. I notice the same problem when I let my friends drive my car (2017 STi limited.)
What is the "Break in Period" on this STI. Dropping the clutch hard!
The Vid was great until you beat the car up. Lots of good info but also lots of abuse.
I didn't drive the car... that was a dealership employee.
Loving it !!!
Idk much about cars but is this car a 4 cylinder that goes 180? I only ever seen them go 120
czcams.com/video/zZAw7-iW9ks/video.html
looks like that dealership just bought itself a loaner car because that's all it's good for now, and what is he doing at 13:05? did he miss a gear? really?
much different to the 2016?
i wish the back was longer lol my only complaint
Thanks for watching and your feedback :)
my boost gauge is in KPA, how can i change it to PSI??
Do you have an owners manual??
Wow, as a 2015 STi owner I can tell you first had it is incredibly stupid and useless to have the LOCKERS on while driving on a paved road without any snow dirt of mud. SMH
Ya I saw that too what an idiot!
Man, who shifts like that???
do you guys recommend this car for a beginner manual trans driver?
No
does it still have ringland failure?
is there a lot of leg room ?
looks like a 2015 model here in australia,,
Will u do a review on wrx too?
Is this a car that can/meant to be able to commute in snow? I can be called in the middle of the night to work during snow storms. I also want this car for its obvious other advantages. Thanks.
i own a 2017 sti it is awesume in the snow im from canada
+Josh Loder thank you for your comment. This is looking to be my new favorite for my next car then.
+brfitzpatrick1 she won't disapoint
i also live in NY, thank you for your helpful answer. my only hesitation now is wondering if or when subaru is going to update the engine in the STI. i hear the engine may be upgraded by 2020. Not sure though.
2017 STI here too. I got Blizzacks for winter commuting. No problem driving in snow, slush, and rain. You are going to love driving this car in sloppy weather conditions!
So there is no Sti with a paddle shifter?
jincuteguy lmaoooooooooo of course there is ... itâs a special option thatâs available for crippled people
Are these guys ever going to upgrade this 20 year old engine?
ripperx444 In Japan the STi has the FA20 while the US version still gets the older EJ25. Americans still like their torque I guess. Hopefully the next generation STi will adopt the FA20 or some form of it.
Ahhh, a dealership employee who doesn't even know what a redline is. Big surprise. Salespeople should know everything about the cars they are trying to sell.
This nigga really driving and resting his hands on the shiftier
whats the difference between this and a 2016??
+Thecoolwarrior1 looks the same to me
+MikesCarInfo
i mean in features or updated tech
it is almost 10k more so something has to be new in it. oh it has LED headlights, and blind spot assist.
