- Cause of delay in report in Amniocentesis.
There is sometime less cells in amniotic fluid because of that the amount of DNA is less. we have to test for down syndrome aneuploidy and sub microscopic deletion and duplication along with genetic tests which are at the DNA level. It requires cell culture to grow more cells and thus more DNA. This leads to this leads to delay in reporting from the usual turn around time.
