    2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 75,000Km
    Followed the video guide, i didn't remove anything to get at the sensor other than the engine cover. You do have to twist it a bit to get out from the well.
    Tried to reset the code with a battery disconnect and left it over night. However, i did have to get someone to clear the code with a scanner. Showed low turbo boost pressure on the code. Drove it home (30min) and the code hasn't returned. A new sensor is 160 from mopar and 200 from Napa for anyone wondering.
    Thank you.

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 6 měsíci

      Abs light is still on after you replaced the sensor? Most times if the light is still on after you replaced the sensor could mean one of a few things… your wiring is bad on the truck side, or on the actual bearing itself there is a “tone wheel” that is a magnet and allows the sensor to read the speed, I’ve seen excessive rust build up and actually cause the tone wheel to flake off. Another issue may be the “air gap” between the sensor and where it mounts is too large meaning there is built up rust under where the sensor mounts.. hope this helps! Cheers!

    Hey man, had a question for you. If i get the egr and dpf delete and remove the DPF but keep the CAT and don’t install block plates - Will that cause me issues ? or will it be alright since the EGR/DPF is tuned out. Help a brother out please!

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 10 měsíci

      That’d be a good question for your tuner, but from what I’ve read you can leave it all attached but it still may thermal crack and possibly soot up due to the coolant and exhaust gases still running through it.. that being said I would say probably take it off but you can do whatever at your own risk haha. Just my 2 cents, cheers brother!

    Hi mate thanks for your detailed instructions on getting this sensor cleaned out. I have a P02E8 code on a Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel and wondering if doing this clean might help, although I don't have the service throttle light yet. I know the problem is on the throttle body butterfly flap position but cleaning all that hasn't helped. Wondering if you or anyone here has experienced/fixed it. Thinking of replacing the throttle body but the car just runs so fine except for this warning. Also noticed if I try to restart the engine right after turning it off, it would not start and continue to crank only. Wait for 20 seconds and try to start, starts normal. Even cold or subsequent warm starts are fine. Maybe EcoDiesels should not be started immediately after shutting down? Only mechanical feel to the issue other than the check engine light and code. No other codes present. Cleared code returns after a few ignition cycles. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated thank you :)

    That's the map sensor not boost pressure and it gets messed up by the oil vapor from the crank case not egr, if you get a catch can it'll prevent that from clogging up.

      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety

      Yeah if you get access to a scan tool, have them read the codes and clear them out. If the code is a hard code it won’t clear and will likely be that the sensor may have been damaged when it was cleaned

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety

      There is an active recall out for the tone ring on the crankshaft that cracks or flakes off, it’s your crank signal.. that would more than likely be your issue! Only problem is I’ve heard after they crack/flake the recall is invalid.. I’d say to have an inspection but it is kind of tricky because it’s located behind the flex plate… can’t be replaced without removing the transmission!

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety

      Or also just reading up online, the ring can delaminate and require a software update done at the dealer! “Free of charge” but is anything ever really free? Lol

    I get the "service electronic throttle control" message in my 2014 Ram 2500 every winter when I drive to Colorado. I'm not sure if it's triggered by the sub freezing temps or over 10,000' altitude.

    This happened 7 times on my 2014 limited ecodiesel. Ended up having to declare it a lemon. Loved that truck other than that issue. Wish I knew this back then. I just bought a used 2017 ecodiesel. It has had the egr recall done. You think that will stop the issue from happening?
    I also installed a pedal commander. The throttle lag was very dangerous. Looking into a GDE tune now but I am in California

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety +1

      Should make it better for sure, best way is to have the egr shut off or remove it, but seeing as your in Cali it is hard because of the emission standards there. But the recall will help being that the egr won’t be letting coolant go where it isn’t supposed to. Keep me updated if you wish!

  • @janetmund7320

    I am a tad confused about this issue. This is my first warning light of this nature but when this happens to me my turbo turns off, I have no boost and barely acceleration while my turbo gets about 400 degrees hotter. Since my Jeep (same engine I am assuming) isn't driven on the road I have removed the EGR at around 60K miles, 20K miles ago. My question is the boost pressure sensor part of the EGR because I can't find this thing anywhere!

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety

      Nope it’s still on there, it’s on top of the plastic intake manifold, one torx bolt and a harness holding it on!

    • @ParryCustoms
      @ParryCustoms  Před 2 lety

      But that would explain the no build of boost, it puts the vehicle into a limp home mode

  • @mic982
    @mic982 Před rokem +1

    Today, my 'Service Electronic Throttle control' message came on and the truck went into limp mode only very briefly, then ran normally the rest of the way home (over 40 miles). But the Lightening symbol and Check Service light are still on. What I need to do is figure out how to clear the lights and see if it happens again. I was hauling a very heavy load and was in Tow-Haul mode with the truck on cruise control (my bad!!) and started up a steep hill (59 mph). I think that triggered this. 158,000+ miles and it had never happened before. As soon as I canceled the cruise control the truck began to run normally the rest of the way home. I had no problem reaching 60 mph but I left the Tow-Haul and cruise modes off. How do I clear the messages and check engine light? Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.
