It’s absurd that Hello Games themselves have yet to acknowledge anything about it either. All they say is “available on all platforms” how is it coming soon when it’s “available on all platforms”?

Im pretty sure this delay on xbox was due to them firing a load of people to do with their updates department a few months back. Love how they havent solved it or been transparent about it though. 💀🤷♂️ im 100% sure that microsoft is to blame for this one.
If you think about it every other platform has received the update which means that Hello games have already put forward the update on their end. Its up to companies like, Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo to finalise it and make sure its available for everyone to play. Microsoft on the other hand seem to be taking twice as long which really does suggest that there was indeed a culling with staff.

I ONLY have xbox, no PC and no PS5. I am beyond tired of waiting on this damn update. It seems to be getting worse and worse with every new update as well.
Same, I think I'm just about done with NMS. Every major update it's a week or more late anymore. By the time the update comes out, all of my friends who play it have already experienced everything the update has to offer and are getting bored with it. Perhaps it is time to move to a different space game.

The last update came out at the same time on all platforms so it was getting better and this delay is due to the security software failure. They are busy getting planes back in the air before they update No Man's Sky.
Having a PS5, I can say for certain, the update is amazing.

@@kellybaglow7135 I'm beginning to think a large portion of Euclid has been discovered. Used to when I started new saves I almost never started a new save in a discovered system. The last few days I started 3 new saves in a row in discovered systems. For quite a while I was starting new permadeath saves then playing them for a few hours and deleting them. Now since I can't directly start a permadeath save I just start survival saves and do the same.

As far as I've been able to tell, it's just NMS having this issue, so either every other developer submits updated for certification on Xbox earlier than other platforms, or HelloGames updates are too initially buggy for Xbox to certify and release it until after a couple of crucial hotfixes

I normally play NMS via GamePass PC but after this pisstake of a delay for the latest update I am planning on moving over to Steam..

I'm on Xbox and I'd rather have a bug fixed V5.00 than a bug ridden one. It's clear MicroSoft will not release Worlds Part 1 until HG fix the bugs.

They don't care about bugs. Even if they did, as far as I'm aware, all the versions have similar levels of polish, and the other 5.00 versions are pretty polished (occasional bug here and there but that's to be expected). Even if Xbox was making HG fix the bugs, three major patches have been released already. It's not bugs, it's not hello games, it's Xbox being slow because they're not required to be fast.

Game just got a 1.4gb update couple of minutes before midnight UK. I had to log out and when I got back in a new wreck I was in the middle of repairing had disappeared...

How come only Xbox gets coverage. I have gotten the same response from Nintendo and it takes twice as long. We already have to take the no mp when he eluded to ns getting it when it was released in the future.
Gonna start saving for a decent pc, my Xbox is gonna be binned. Only reason I use an Xbox is the price, alot cheaper than a pc.
If bugs and glitches are the reason why they don’t want to release the update then why would they have allowed Ubisoft to release an update for Toy Soldiers War Chest that completely prevents the player from playing the game? You can start the game with no save data and play the first level, but as soon as you are back at the menu screen then you can never play it again unless you delete all save data manually.
This is a clusterfuck from the communication standpoint. I dont get it, there are professionals handling the PR?! No men way! Putting the update aside, this is absolutly devistating to Microsofts reputation. Sometimes small things like that, make a huge difference. Business and Marketing should know, this is first semester knowledge though. And the communication fix would be so easy.
This is contract talk, without an update release date means they have the update but they can't release it until a set time. Playstation paid for time exclusive on console.
10 people with decent computer smart’s could run better security checks, and pump out updates faster than the Microsoft team. This should have literally only taken them 4 hours from receiving the patch. Microsoft is just being petty because they’re mad all the starfeild players are switching to NMS.
This sucks for the xbox players. Switch players are ready for the update next month sometime. Mac got the update, but without the graphics updates. Got the new animals, the brood mother, the main screen format, but the water, ground, plants and clouds, all look the same as they were before.
Just checked the Xbox cloud servers and no update. Also note that this affects PC players that bought the game VIA the MS store (xbox store) or Gamepass.
I'm going to buy No Man's Sky on Steam while it's on sale. I'm legitimately done supporting Xbox.

This is one of those struggles with being Multi-platform. Normally Apple is the one that take 14 days or so but with all of the recent changes at M$ Xbox, I am sure they dont have the manpower and thats why the verification has taken so long.
I personally don't mind the wait for updates. Sure, I'd love to get into the goods asap, but they've literally all been free, they have done nothing but improve the game with each update, and it gives me time to catch up on other things.
Besides all that, how many other games only get one real update a year? It's a steady infusion of content even if the timeline gets thrown a little off.
The graphic components on Xbox one without the X, takes more time to configure or don’t have the graphical components then playstation. I have a playstation and my xbox one is so behind on updates because of the graphical downgrade in xbox but those who have an xbox one X should deserve an upgrade update.
I disagree with you putting the blame on Hello Games here, clearly the issue is in Microsofts part if its out on all other consoles. There's also the high possibility given how Microsoft is Hello Games is limited in what they can actually say from a legal standpoint.

I have a Series X so I understand not having the update yet on Xbox. I also have a PC with the experimental version installed so I won't be really affected until the Expedition comes out without the update on Xbox. I always do the Expeditions on Xbox and Steam. The last expedition I did 4 times on Steam and 3 times on Xbox.

For me it's not about how my work week goes. I work a very labor intensive job on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. So I was excited about being able to already try the update last Thursday, but it never came through. So I finish my work week on Sunday hoping to try out the update, but nothing. To me, the thought of having to work on the weekend and not be able to play the update until "possibly" this coming Sunday (due to me having to wake up at 3 am and go to work from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm) sounds very disappointing and exhausting. I know that they have regulatory standards for updates and things, but it's frustrating that the communication has been subpar to say the least. I am regretting only buying the game from the Microsoft store instead of also on steam as I have a PC.

Though I'm not blaming NMS one bit, Xbox knowingly has this issue and has refused to address it at all. We shouldn't have to wait over a week for an update that's already available and fully playable on Steam/PS4. It's even worse when they have the games cover photo changed for the update and the trailer itself up and ready.
The lack of communication and ignoring of the problem really is confusing weird and agreed unacceptable. Leave all the blame out of it, the false advertising aspect of things is what baffles me this is going to drive sales of the game while saying in the store if you buy this game it includes up to worlds part one. This is a giant mess.

Every console maker has different steps that they follow to verify patches/updates. Some Microbrain at Microsoft is probably sitting on their thumbs instead of doing their jobs. If the update has been sent to Microsoft for approval, then it's on them and not Hello Games. We have had similar issues on the PS5 when it comes to multi platform gane updates, and waiting a week or so didn't kill anyone while waiting. Was it fun to have to wait? No, but sometimes things just don't go to plan. So stop trying to incite people into acting out against these companies.
Assuming expedition 14 will not be out until everyone can start out at the same time.

As of Tuesday July 23rd @ 2:51pm still no update on Xbox…..was saving for Xbox series X/S (still playing on Xbox One), but after this I’m seriously considering buying a PS5 instead. If nothing else I’d get the NMS updates THE DAY THEY DROP that way.
You can take the party faces however bad you want, but there is exactly nothing HG or anyone else can say about any reason when Microsoft takes a dump on xbox. It's part of the contract, just like with Sony, etc. You can't say anything bad, you can't give out any details without prior approval, etc. Sean can't tell you without potentially costing his small company more than they are worth.
I'm very sure Sean could've apologized or possibly given some words along with the emojis, although they'd likely be vague. The announcement/tweet by Xbox was vague to the point of uselessness, I can confidently say the Xbox community knows the 5.0 update will come out "soon" 5 days after the update released on other platforms. So I believe this tweet may've not needed a response, especially if Hello Games is concerned about potentially costing his small company more than they are worth (ie. Microsoft taking Sean's response the wrong way) However, I believe we can agree on how we view this succession of events is largely influenced by the misplaced anger and want for blame in Xbox players. Would the community take a lengthy response post update (PR checked by Microsoft) or a vague response before the update better? In anticipation to a lengthy response after the update, would it be better to post something vague or nothing at all before the update? Unless Sean was instructed by Microsoft in this "contract" to make a vague comment like he did, I believe he could have said something more comforting at the time to his unnerved community even if that was nothing at all.

How is this a Hello Games problem? They have released this FREE update and not for the first time Microsoft have been slow to get it out to their customers. It amazes me how quickly some people can go from singing the praises of NMS to slagging it off. Hello Games is a tiny indie developer and I would not be surprised that has to be careful what it says to the behemoth Microsoft, hence the lack of any information regarding this delay.

In my post I didn’t blame HG bc allegedly it’s the MS certification process which means HG sent them update MS just hasn’t certified it for release yet. HG is now at fault bc they have not communicated a thing. That I saw. Even a we don’t know is an acknowledgement.

Alright, the entire reason that Xbox had the update delayed is because of a massive security breach. For some context, flights were cancelled globally and banks had to close to prevent important information getting leaked. Microsoft had to shut down everything to deal with the breach which has been nicknamed "cloudstrike". As of the trailer and key art being in use, that's just a back burner issue as they were supposed to update then but were unable to. It's just best to sit back and wait. Sooner or later the update will drop on Xbox... Preferably sooner lol

He most likely doesn’t know any more than us. This is more or less a Microsoft issue if the update was already primed and ready to go, which I’d assume it was with the others when the Microsoft crash happened he was left in the dark with everyone else. Sorry this is so long.
