Even though we dont have muslim holidays on a calender, almost all schools and companies allow for muslims and hindus to be away from work and school for their religous festivals and prayers!
Officially this is true. In practice, as Muslims, the azaan can be silenced. In high school I had to get a letter from the Moulana stating that it was Ramadan and that I could wear my kufi to confirm that I'm Muslim and because it wasn't part of my uniform. Islam is also associated with being a foreigner, I mean I was once asked to produce my passport by a cop at a roadblock. It was also not so long ago when Christians protested against Halaal food. Remember when Mandla Mandela married a Muslim woman and converted and how mainstream the narrative was that Islam was about replacing African culture. Also, the Law is very clear that blasphemy against the Christian version of God is illegal, hence everything I've just said can happen without any repercussions and why we are still fighting for Muslim marriages to be recognised as marriages and not civil union. So no, this country of ours is shamelessly xenophobic and Islamophobic. Even Vwelinzima Vavi complained about how we go to the Masjid on a Friday while complaining about how the Asian guys are monopolising small business. This place is very indefensible and I no longer care if it goes down because we are an evil people.

There are plenty of gay people in Tanzania, they have just been shamed, abused, hidden or tortured or killed. Underneath the idea of a peaceful nation are growing religious divisions and always the possibility of disunion between the mainland and Zanzibar. The democracy just survived a near death experience after the actual death of a charming, cruel and effective dictator and it's not quite yet been revived. My Congolese colleague said SA is a mini America/London, he said we are living here, still don't know what that meant but these videos shows that I need to travel more if not relocating LOL.
My next Destination definitely Tanzania. I always mistake Tanzania with Tzaneen .

The issue of tribalism is not existing in Tanzania, but it does not mean that they are not embracing their culture.
That’s also true , it’s just a different magnitude of embracing it maybe rather I should have kept it like that
Ramadan does happen but since they're not that much Muslims we don't notice
My friend is actually Muslim.
I Phones in Tanzania are most likely fake. Original i phones, are way to expensive, in whole of Africa.
Dwaine Leso not fake, all fake are banned out there.
Please... You can get an iPhone for R10k brand new
@Sthembiso same as huawei and samsung
@Sthembiso but its not much of a big deal after all, sumsung and huawei are leaders in that range
Sthembiso Bro most Tanzanians just love iPhones hope you don’t expect seeing people all over the streets with iPhone 11 everywhere..

😂😂 yeah it’s expensive but it sure does take way better pictures than hauwei there’s no need to lie

Shout out to Brutus 🤣🤣, glad to hear gay people can feel free in S.A, as you know a lot of other places in Africa are sadly still medieval in this regard.
Mediaeval is an over exaggeration.
USA was against gay marriage until 2015 so was USA mediaeval before?

There are plenty of gay people in Tanzania, they have just been shamed, abused, hidden or tortured or killed. Underneath the idea of a peaceful nation are growing religious divisions and always the possibility of disunion between the mainland and Zanzibar. The democracy just survived a near death experience after the actual death of a charming, cruel and effective dictator and it's not quite yet been revived. You could find Tanzanian migrants in South Africa that have left their country because of lack of opportunity and jobs for them in Tanzania. I say this as a Tanzanian who loves the country too much to toot our own horn when they are sour notes too - love your channel but it's important to keep it real.
Hi there I think my comment on the matter was taken out of context , plus am not sure if you are talking about my exact insight on LGBTQ I didn’t say they are not LGBTQ members in Tanzania but what I said is that it’s illegal by law which is not the same here in South Africa . There is more freedom here and accepting from the society and the law itself .... this video didn’t have an intention of things I wish I changed about Tanzania which I think is a good idea I would implement in the future
Lgbtqi marriage is legal, lgbtqi can adopt children etc.

Tanzania can’t matchup with SA industrial economy, development infrastructure, nuclear technology development assemblies of cars, World Cup,BRICS agriculture Mining sports in Africa only SA produced internationally boxers cricket, rugby, food production European consume our food 60% so SA laws can’t be competed with Tanzanias
