I was thinking the same thing at the time.
Remember he was trying to keep it but many experts in the comments were telling him to remove it
The only way he could have kept the booster delete set up was to go with brake callipers with larger/multiple pistons and had more pedal travel. Still wouldn't have been as good as this. I had been wondering from the beginning if there was an electric booster.

Thank you Scotty! that booster system is one i didn't know of and would be so much better for use on classic cars that were not fitted with boosters. A good mate of mine has an EH Holden, i will show him this set up.

Great episode, Scotty. I have the same tube cutter in my toolbox. The lexen is another sleeper. Turbo Taxi, Dads Ute, all give no clue to what's hiding in the engine bay.
No denying the satisfaction of using a really well engineered tool!

Know exactly what you are saying about the brake flaring tool. Once upon a time that would have required some very creative thinking or a trip to a hydraulics shop for them to do it for you. That is a must have for a workshop like yours. Was there two pump side fluid reservoirs joined together in that system?

Yeah, that rectangular section joined the two sides together. The double flaring tool is awesome.

Those V series Commodores had shocking brakes from day dot, any upgrade is an improvement 👍
We had a vn and an ef growing up. The EF falcon brakes were so much better.

I done remote vacuum booster but did know and electrical pump ones. It's good to know.
Im losing faith in my less booster brakes as well now aha. Glad you sorted it out as ya wanna stop abd pull that wags up.

So you have im guessing 50a power cable, 40a fuse for this high current pump and for the ground you choose to go with a self tapper on top of a plastic coolant bottle? Just a suggestion but how about using the thread where you mounted the relay and bolt it directly onto clean steel.

Great solution however I don’t love the position of the booster motor and lines. There’s a reason they are always near on the firewall on OEM. You hit a Roo hard enough on that front qtr impacting headlight and you could loose brakes!
You won't lose brakes you'll just get a hard pedal
Tip... mock up your pipe length and bends with a piece of wire first...

As long as that fuse doesn't blow at 130mph you'll be fine! I seriously doubt this would pass a roadworthy in NSW
If the fuse b lows you don't lose your brakes the pedal just gets harder, that's all.

Hey scotty, you know that Snap On sucker you used to drain the reservoir? It's a one man brake bleeder. Great for new lines as it pulls the air and the fluid through - not always easy when pumping from the master cylinder. Assuming you already know that though, so was it just for the facial expessions shot? :)

For me I have love hate relationship with these type of channels I get all G'd up admiring the bling and pretty parts then I snap back to reality that my budget is lucky to afford fuel these days 😢 oh well nothing wrong with dreaming I guess....maybe one day I can have my own build. Have you considered an interchiller for your 1UZ? You could put more boost in it and get about 200 more horsepower😎

So do you reckon the wilwood boostless master is garbage. I have a cammed vn ls1 with a smoothed bay and brought the wilwood kit. Do u reccomend to keep the vaccume over the wilwood?

Scotty , where do u get the brake line from ? And the proflow flare and benders ?
Proflow tools are available from VPW. The Line and fittings can be bought from any brake workshop. I bought mine from Hallam Brake and Clutch

Would the Rod have been long enough without using the willwood spacer? Also are the just std brakes or VT upgrade? Good Disks and pads made a significant difference on my non boosted brake set up.
it's in a previous episode where Scotty was doing the original brake package upgrade, all new front and rear rotors and fresh pads, but the same callipers (which is not an issue really), yes it would be nice to have 2 piston callipers up front and maybe Scotty might do that eventually.
Yeah all well and good to have new stuff but obviously there is a big difference in the range of quality out there
The rod would have been long enough without the spacer. The set-up we had was a generic kit, not specific to a commodore, which is why we needed to make some modifications

Dad's Ute stops fine without a booster, but it's pedal ratio is made for that
Scotty mate would just changing the rotors ,with larger ones and good pads to suit be better after all you did put a wilwood brake booster on, just asking thats all.🦘🦘👍👌✌
