One thing to remember: this league they changed unveiling mechanics so that the unveiled mods are automatically unlocked at the bench. This means we'll get the +1 skele/zombie helmet/body armour mod sooner, making it a bit more leaguestart friendly :) I actually started Betrayal league as a skelemancer, and I unveiled this mod in Act 2, and then just wore the helmet I unveiled it on until maps (I got more unveils until then so I could craft the mod on another helmet). +1 skele and zombie helped me so much then! Of course now Betrayal content begins in Act 9 so it doesn't do much, but I usually try to have one of these on either the helmet or the body armour anyway.
Thanks a lot for all the good info and the indepth starting guide. I'm actually rerolling my into Skeletons in the Endless Delve right now. I got a 50+ Necro with SRS for the moment, but it's good to have a backup, and very fun to try out new builds. In fact, as it feels right now I might even go with in into the Gauntlet next friday. Depending on how rough the beginning will be.

Since many players will reach reach yellow/ red map in the first session I hope we get it before launch (Mid-High gear). one question, concerning defense and mitigation, except some taunt in jewel and meat shield i did not see any, any plans to work on it in the next Build iteration? we want to survive Similacrum 30, invitations, etc. :)

Especially your thoughts on Occultist vs Necromancer, and the possible options for the 6-link like added chaos vs minion damage! Worked on a pob myself, but was having trouble calculating damage and balancing skill points for masteries and cluster jewels.

Thx for the build idea brother! I’m planning my animate weapon starter roughly along the same lines, only need more Dex + minion duration. Could even take arctic armour for freeze immunity instead of flesh&stone. This is gonna be a great summoner league!
skellies are great for blight, towers generally kill 90% of the trash, you can finish off the rest by yourself and then focus your attention on the bosses that spawn. might require more investment for uber blights but on the other hand you may be able to just anoint it a few times to get giga broken towers and roll the map
Awesome video, I really appreciate the detail that you go into especially with the levelling trees and crafted items - so many content creators only do the bare minimum, its really useful for newer players (like myself). You mentioned farming buttloads of ex, did you have a set out farming strategy this league? GGG just recently re-announced the Atlas passives and slightly nerfed Breach which was my plan. Also as a new player, its pretty crazy to see such high dps on such budget gear
my league start usually goes like this. i stream. I do every league mechanic every area while leveling. Usually have some currency to show for it by maps(my leveling might take a bit longer then skipping the league mechanic). At maps my strategy is to complete my atlas, unlock all the maps, push to red maps, get awakener 8, get all the maven atlas passives. so i just start running maps, killing bosses, and doing league mechanics. by the time u complete all the maps and scale into red maps, awakener 8. it's so many maps that i've usually farmed a decent amount of currency for a league start. Early red maps is money, map completion helps sustaining maps which is just huge money in the beginning. Also low tier blight is pretty good early.
Amazing, in depth guide, really love it and watching every video since your golem build last league which is my goal this time :D Wanted to ask what do you think of dropping vitality, probably unbound ailments linked to skitters and instead getting pride + skitters + purity of elements + enlighten (lvl 3 should be enough). Elemental ailment immunity is just too tempting for me and going with purity would help us with caping resses as it's 34% all res at lvl 20. Instead we could focus more on capping chaos res on gear or maybe even with a purity watcher giving +50% chaos res that tends to be fairly cheap. Just asking for an opinion for the future as I know you focused on making the build going with items you can get on the floor except the essences for wands and chest :D Thanks for all the hard work!
if you slot an increased critical damage in teh 6L and use assasins mark over vulnerability, the single target goes up to 5.2m. Also have you done a lot of mapping with melee skeletons? You will often want to have feeding frenzy on the 6L as it gives them a charge attack. Also I see frenzy charges are checked, im assuming they are coming from spectre apes. Just a heads up that with skeletons we dont get great uptime on this, since we are re-summoning quite often. Thank you for using actual league start items for your build, cant stand when "league starters" have multi ex items.
yes i cast the skele once on a pack while mapping and every pack dies instantly, while i just keep running and flame dashing. I combo skele flame dash to cancel the animation since flame dash is instant. I agree about feeding frenzy it's relaxed chill, you could literally aim anywhere on the screen, look at another monitor and your skeles will dash to the targets (Also they can dash over walls like mini carrion golems :D) but the damage loss from giving up a main 6L for feeding frenzy is too much.
Edit: Never mind - it says Duration: 100% :-) My bad hte pob tells me ailment immunity for all ailments and blind . even without gear and lvl 12 tree. seems broken.
@@fast1nakus clarity and some other mana nodes and mods it's very experimental. Also mana on hit for ensnaring arrow in a bow or rain of arrows cursing with mana on hit
Great Video, one suggestion for brutus I use infernal legion for SRS, makes it a much easier experience, coupled with holy flame totem they survive longer.
I personally like feeding frenzy linked to skeletons to give them dash. Another option is also to replace multistrike so vaal skeletons get full effect of 6L.

Nice video and guide. Personally, a little concerned as the build has only 5k life and basically no other defenses that I'm seeing. Skeletons are doing "only" 2.7m which isn't terrible but isn't enough to "melt" endgame content which means you'll be spending a lot of time running around.... and that means lots of chances to get clipped by 1-shot mechanics with only 5k life. Curious if you or others are taking this into consideration and have ideas to solve it?

Quite fitting choice for spooky month. I've used some mage skeletons build, it was from some dubious PoE builds channel, which is still going btw. It was ok, reached red maps but anything more was too hard. Still better than rest of his builds, most of them have no decent defences. It's like he just changed league numbers in the videos titles and that's it.

I seem to be down 1.5k health and up 500k dps when I remake my builds for Scourge. I'll have to see if my gear gets changed much, otherwise I need to rethink my setup.
I haven't played since Blight league. Any thoughts on best spectre choices for this build? I believe I used to use undying evangelist for prox shield, but maybe one chieftain for buff?
hey man, build looks great, only problem is the defenses, i mean with flasks up i see we have about 60% phys damage reduction, but with scourge league it looks like a lot of one shots on the build, I know its not HC or anything, but, i am guessing you arent setting this build up to run scourge content or high tier maps? just something to get some currency to build into a tanky necro for end game content and scourge?

When do you drop Purifying Flame and Holy Flame Totem? Tried killing Merveil with just skeletons + zombies and it was just painful. Also at what point do you start using zombies? On act1 they seem to die without doing anything so it seems like a waste to cast them
by the time i have the indomitable army wheel with the leech mastery. I use zombies at level one you keep em alive with consecrated ground from the purifying flame for 5% regen
just stumbled on your build. thinking about doing a standard summoner build. havent done one in so long. how is the build going to do with the scourge mechanic. seems like horde style demon slaying and the longer you stay in the realm the stronger the demons get. i was thinking of going a max block bleed character or summons. i'd rather do summons but i hope the survivability is good enough for the scourge mechanic.
we have no idea yet. Plan was to kill to not be killed and run around while my minions do everything like i've been doing for 2 years. If that doesn't work we can adjust it to be a bit more tanky if need be. :D I'll be streaming it all and posting update videos
Wish you would have showed the build in action. Showing this to my 11 year old son to try to get him into PoE and minions seems pretty easy for him to learn with but he doesn't know what it looks like.
I am a little confused... when coloring sockets wont be a problem, what would be most effecient way to become tanky this patch? Getting armor and evasion based gear though we dont scale it THAT hard? Or purely armor gear? Or some ES gear?
If the players pc can handle it, I always recommend vaal skele over non vaal. Even just the massive increase to taunt attempts per second should sell it but the damage is utterly disgusting :)
Hi. Ethan. Are You sure that we can use same mastery nods from different parts of tree? For example, You have 2 minion offence nodes in Pob. Tyvm for sharing build btw.
Yes you can! You just can't select the same mastery mod from the list. So like your example "minion offence mastery" If i grabbed the 200 minion accuracy i can't grab it again but i can grab the other things on the list one time.
I like to cast my skelly every 1-2 screens on a new pack. So I like the default where it summons 2-4 skeletons per cast and reaching your maximum amount of skeletons in 2 casts. So i can unload half of my power in 1 click on a pack. usually most packs get 1 shotted instantly. Having 2 casts before max allows me to cast my skellies and leave them behind killing while i continue traveling to the next pack. I can cast it on the 2nd pack without worry of the first and the cooldown isn't that long. It would be less clicking with from dust but would actually take away QOL

@@EthanDju I wanna try out A 100% attack block build on reaper with the new Protective Link spell, so basically reaper will never die with all the regen, health, attack & spell block, res and life steal it will have + makes you super tanky to cause you no longer have to take necromantic aegis. What do you think? will it be HCssf viable?

For blight farming i use Skellie mages. till i can build Ethans AFK blight build.

I haven't played since Blight league. Any thoughts on best spectre choices for this build? I believe I used to use undying evangelist for prox shield, but maybe one chieftain for buff?

hey man, build looks great, only problem is the defenses, i mean with flasks up i see we have about 60% phys damage reduction, but with scourge league it looks like a lot of one shots on the build, I know its not HC or anything, but, i am guessing you arent setting this build up to run scourge content or high tier maps? just something to get some currency to build into a tanky necro for end game content and scourge?

sounds good, could even run raze and pillage instead of rotten claws and just spend 5 points on vicious bite, renewal and the 2 jewel sockets.
What about medium Clusters? Is there something better than the Minion Life one for Phys minions?
Hmm.. I think I will do this build with occultist... Will need to check if I lose to much does but with curses and profain bloom this could bee really fun
Also what is your opinion on mele skeles, archer skeles, or mage skeles with the new tree?

When do you drop Purifying Flame and Holy Flame Totem? Tried killing Merveil with just skeletons + zombies and it was just painful. Also at what point do you start using zombies? On act1 they seem to die without doing anything so it seems like a waste to cast them
by the time i have the indomitable army wheel with the leech mastery. I use zombies at level one you keep em alive with consecrated ground from the purifying flame for 5% regen
Really consider going this build as my league starter. Any tips on how to easily get vaal skeletons at start?
vaal orb a skele gem from the shop or just buy it from trade for usually 1c or less :D also vaal side areas

How do you get the four spectres? Looking at the gear list on the POB i dont see the extra gem levels. Loving this build otherwise!
u dont have 4 in the legaue starter. its just so people know what they will get at 4.
just stumbled on your build. thinking about doing a standard summoner build. havent done one in so long. how is the build going to do with the scourge mechanic. seems like horde style demon slaying and the longer you stay in the realm the stronger the demons get. i was thinking of going a max block bleed character or summons. i'd rather do summons but i hope the survivability is good enough for the scourge mechanic.
we have no idea yet. Plan was to kill to not be killed and run around while my minions do everything like i've been doing for 2 years. If that doesn't work we can adjust it to be a bit more tanky if need be. :D I'll be streaming it all and posting update videos
Have you thought about bringing chaos golems back? +1 chaos mastery could be good
what chaos node do i want on my chaos golem to benefit this +1. I can't just annoint a mastery :P

Wish you would have showed the build in action. Showing this to my 11 year old son to try to get him into PoE and minions seems pretty easy for him to learn with but he doesn't know what it looks like.
i play live on stream with vods available. You can see my past events and possibly my league start which is similiar to this.
I am a little confused... when coloring sockets wont be a problem, what would be most effecient way to become tanky this patch? Getting armor and evasion based gear though we dont scale it THAT hard? Or purely armor gear? Or some ES gear?
mostly armour. some evasion isn't bad but we aren't really scaling it.

If the players pc can handle it, I always recommend vaal skele over non vaal. Even just the massive increase to taunt attempts per second should sell it but the damage is utterly disgusting :)

Yes you can! You just can't select the same mastery mod from the list. So like your example "minion offence mastery" If i grabbed the 200 minion accuracy i can't grab it again but i can grab the other things on the list one time.

Just curious what are your thoughts on the From Dust unique jewel for this build?
I like to cast my skelly every 1-2 screens on a new pack. So I like the default where it summons 2-4 skeletons per cast and reaching your maximum amount of skeletons in 2 casts. So i can unload half of my power in 1 click on a pack. usually most packs get 1 shotted instantly. Having 2 casts before max allows me to cast my skellies and leave them behind killing while i continue traveling to the next pack. I can cast it on the 2nd pack without worry of the first and the cooldown isn't that long. It would be less clicking with from dust but would actually take away QOL
Do you think the chaos res wheel with the asylum node is worth thinking about?
maybe if you were stacking reduced effect of curses to try to get 100%.

@@EthanDju I wanna try out A 100% attack block build on reaper with the new Protective Link spell, so basically reaper will never die with all the regen, health, attack & spell block, res and life steal it will have + makes you super tanky to cause you no longer have to take necromantic aegis. What do you think? will it be HCssf viable?
