Congrats man! I don't think you'll regret it :) the best catback on the market in my opinion. If you want ridiculously loud at 3k RPM but still tame at idle, I suggest longtubes and catless midpipes. It's the sound of America!
Absolutely! Thank you for the kind words, I still read all the comments and appreciate getting them! Just don't currently have a vehicle thats CZcams worthy is all. The moment I do, I'll be sure to start up again :)
So this will be my setup once my cam goes in. Just wondering if its really really loud at idle and as far as driving hows the noise in the car under normal driving conditions. Is the idle really loud?
Look for one of my videos called how loud is my car, that should give you a decibel reading so you can have an idea as video doesn't do it much justice. As far as noise under acceleration, its pretty loud at anything over 2700 if I remember correctly. But the Corsa is so smooth that if you have the windows up, it's almost like you can't tell it has an exhaust because of their zero drone policy haha.
Gunmetal Speedster lol..i just watched it. I didnt know you were catless...just wondering if cats would quiet it down. Now dont get me wrong i love loud. But it has to be a good clean sounding loud.
Cats will help but I doubt it will make the world of a difference lol and I suppose that is subjective. I think it sounds great haha. I suppose you could change the catback if it doesn't seem to fit your build anymore lol
Gunmetal Speedster Oh no...i just bought the Corsa in the fall....had it installed just before the car went away for the winter. I do have a set of 1 7/8 catted longtubes stored at my tuners shop just waiting for good weather so i can get the car to him. Headers...then cam ....all good lol.
I have a 5.3 truck with 1 7/8 longtubes and corsa but no cam and its loud lol. Like super loud. Hear me across town loud 😅 But to answer your question on cats, i was catless first then put a single high flow cat on. The cats do quiet it some but not much. Part throttle sound is slightly reduced and WOT sound isnt reduced much at all but it is refined a little bit. Takes out just a little bit of the bark and cackle, but it still echoes off of everything and its still obvious you have longtubes lol. I imagine its even louder with a cam. I plan to cam my truck soon.
Awesome man. I'm getting kooks LT 1 7/8 headers no cats, rotofab CAI, and a Corsa sport catback.. Cam will be my next step after I get the ground work. What cam do you prefer for low end torque? I don't wanna lose my low end torque I've read larger cams can do that
I’m trying to learn here, but, can someone explain to me whats making that “skipping/lag” noise in the exhaust that makes it sound mean? And is there a correct term for it?
I still see most comments! Below I will list everything I did with my cam install: - Night Fury Camshaft - .660" Lift BTR Platinum LS Spring Kit; Titanium Ret., .505" ID .060" Thick Loc., Brown/Black Seals - BTR Chromoly One Piece Pushrods; 7.400" Long, 5/16" Diameter, .080" Wall, Set of 16 - LS Series 3-Bolt Cam Conversion Kit w/Katech C5R Timing Chain - LS2 Dampener - Melling High Pressure/Standard Volume Oil Pump - ARP Harmonic Balancer Bolt - Straub Bronze Bushing Rocker Trunion Upgrade - x8 NGK TR6 Spark Plugs - Powerbond 25% UDP You definitely have to change pushrods for them to match from what I remember. Everything from the timing chain down isn't required, but they are known weak spots so I upgraded them while in there for a cheap insurance if you will. The UDP was just to try and hit 500rwhp and it got me there haha.
Bought the same headers. With everything. Are the off road pipes that come with it basically cat deletes?? Thanks hope to see you at cars and coffee soon bro!
That is precisely what they are! Straight cat deletes haha. And yeah, I hope to get out there a few more times before the season ends. I've been slacking big time this year, I've only been 3-4 times
hey man i have a camaro that is the same gen as you and I have an x-pipe flow master outlaw catback and it sounds good but still seems too deep of a sound and is not loud enough for my liking. would u suggest headers and if so what kind? i was looking at kooks long tube but not sure if they are worth the extra money or would u suggest different headers that are cheaper. Also where did u get your rear diffuser? Mine came stock with enough space for only one tip but would love to do quad tips
Hey man! Definitely recommend longtube headers, it will wake the car up immensely. And yeah, Kooks is a good brand but at the end of the day, headers are headers. I did Speed Engineering headers and got them for $300. They are widely used on our cars and work just as well as Kooks for a fraction of the cost. Definitely recommend them. And my diffuser came the same way, but when I added quad tips I swapped out to the 1LE diffuser. A google search should show it pretty easily. They go for like $150
Nope! Put them on there straight haha. I didn't want to spend the extra money for that. If you have the option, probably not a bad thing to do! But if not, I wouldn't worry too much about it
Thanks man! My setup is Nightfury cam, Cold Air Inductions intake, powerbond 25% udp, speed engineering longtubes w/o cats, and in this video I had the Corsa Xtreme catback. If I had to estimate how much all that costs to be installed and tuned, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000
The cam kit alone was ~$1,400 but that included a lot of extras. They installed it and dyno tuned for $2300 which is pretty pricey but I don't have a lot of options around me. The catback was $1,100 brand new. Headers were $250. So really the majority of the money is spent in labor and tuning. If you can do it yourself or find a cheaper shop, you could save a lot of money haha. Not to mention if you buy cheaper parts instead of big dollar parts or buying used from the forums help a lot. There are a lot of ways to get the price lower than what I paid for it haha.
Both are great choices, can't really go wrong with either. I'm biased towards the camaro, I think it has the ability to look and sound meaner haha. Pretty spacious too, meets any needs I could have for it haha
I got my camaro this march $12,000 122 miles on it. Few dents because the car was hit by the side of the door by people who park to dam close to it. And open the door and make a dent on your car. First sport car by the way. And I wasn't expecting to be to low (cuase am always driving trucks) until I got to close to a parking lot curve cement and the bottom of the bumper got stuck. And this camaro take so much oil.
Hey man, I am getting a 2010 2SS in September I would love to get some new headers and put some new exhaust on. I have a few questions though. How much was it to get it cammed? And also i don’t know how to go about tuning it. Thanks, sweet ride
Getting it cammed can cost all different price ranges depending on how you approach it. If it's an automatic, it will be quite a bit more to cam than a manual. I paid $3200 for everything, but I got a lot of additional upgrades to go with it as well with my car being "higher" mileage. I've seen places do an entire cam install including labor parts and tune for $1800. That's usually not the case, I would say the median price is mid $2000's. Just depends on where you take it and what you're having done.

@@FueledbyFaith I know you don't (and no technical inspections, either), but the EPA is a federal agency; they do not care about state laws because as a federal agency, they are above them.
Now ive listened to the stainless works and the corsacatbacks on your car . I know youve changed again lol...but in your opinion in person did the corsa or stainless works sound better.
In my personal opinion, I liked the Corsa more. It all depends on what you're looking for though since they are completely opposite sides of the spectrum. The SW retro is as deep as you can get while the Corsa is a raspy, higher pitched exotic sound. The higher pitch of the Corsa really brings out the sound of the cam, so that is why I like it more haha.
I know! According to the shop who installed the new catback, my old quad tips couldn't work with it. So I'll be switching to the Havoc diffuser more than likely so it doesn't look so stupid lmao

There is a reason they call it Corsa Extreme. This exhaust is for those whom the Sport and Touring isn't enough. My car has a similar Spintech 3" exhaust and I would not recommend it or the cam for a daily driver, but for a cruiser you drive occasionally, it is good. I am not saying I could not tolerate it, far from it, but I do feel my neighbors and local leos would not be amused if they saw and heard it everyday and at all hours of the night. When I was running mine yesterday in the garage prior to putting the battery tender on it, I noticed the idle shook (vibrated) the 1st floor of the house. It completely drowned out the Fox Body GT idling next to it (that car has Flowmaster Super 44s, no cats and BBK long tubes as well as an F303 cam). Personally, I love the sound and now think the Mustang is too mild.
I cannot tell you how much I love that license plate. God of speed!
Yeah boy! Glad someone else got the reference!!
Thats really creative
You're no God of Speed. You're just a time remnant.
This my friend is how a 5th gen should sound!
As a fartmobile? No, it should have that chop and the deep, bass blubber of a V8. This one has neither.

That's the upgraded camshaft causing that sound. As for the sound itself, most refer to it as the "lope"

DJTexan 4202 upgraded cam
Not sure if you’re still responding to comments but what springs are you using with that cam? And did you have to change pushrods or anything?
