Well-considered neutrals/basics with one or two interesting details are so hard to pull off, and you nailed it every time!
Hi Jenny, My favorite item was the plaid dress, so "Holly Hobbie"/Prairie Girl"... I can see it styled with black leggings/ tights and a pair of "Doc" boots,or ballet flats. I love the white "Easy Spirit" shoes, they look so cute on you, great with "jeans" ! You have a great "Artist" style with your fashions.Yes, comfort is a good thing. Do you incorporate any jewelry with your clothes ? I see you in "Funky" , "Art Teacher" jewelry. You are Unique. Have a great weekend ! Happiness, Cindy 🌻🎨
Definitely use a laundry wash bag for the thin cotton dress, it'll reduce the friction and tugging in the wash and should help keep it kicking for longer!
I really like how that jacket/hoodie fits, it's got great structure and compliments the other colours I've seen you wearing
I love the plaid top! The silk top fabric is called sand washed silk. (pretty sure no actual sand is involved) It's hand washable in cold water. I like the blue sweatshirt jacket too.
Great haul! Don't be afraid to thrift basics - I finally thrifted a plain brown tank top/cami today which is something I was randomly missing in my closet. You can find literally any thing you need at the thrift store if you're dedicated (it may take several trips lol). Also the Keds could be saved by embroidering (via a straight stitch maybe?) over the silver, which I didn't like either lol. You could even use matching white embroidery thread to make them more streamlined, and it would just look like an extra embellishment. Thanks for sharing this
Wonderful video! I'm also leaning into boring basics these days, I have so many weird statement clothes but I feel I'm sometimes lacking in good quality basics. I'm recently very much into mixing those things together, maybe wearing all basics but for one quirky statement garment paired with everything else. Today I checked out a clothing swap rack at a local library where I live, dropped off some clothes I'm not using anymore and found the most comfortable, beige cotton pants that fit me perfectly instead. Super boring but really versatile pants, and I love them! I'm so stoked that I got them for free at the swap market! And P.S. - I love the "ugly" shoes you thrifted! This is so the vibe I'm into these days...I don't know, maybe it's some kind of an antidote to social media glam, and I need that!
I love wearing silk! I love that type too. Idk what it's technically called but i call it knobby silk
Paint over the silver stripes with white leather paint!
Very cool pieces! You're exuding confidence somehow. Unapologetic neutrals or something I don't know. You have still maintained your individuality.
I found out that type of silk is called "noil" in case anyone was wondering
I've also been into the more "ugly" but practical orthopedic shoes lol dressing them up can be fun and the comfort is a huge plus
Also if you don't want to paint over the silver you can always do what us elder emo/diy punks use to do and use duck tape. Like cut a strip out of white or another fun color. It should stay put for a while and you can change it up.
i think the brown shirt is made of raw silk!
Definitely raw silk 👍 Also, I think the shirt is meant to be tied at the bottom. That’s what the buttons only go down to the waist.
