I bought a new drone - check out some shots from my first day with it. Today I hiked to the Hollywood sign with it but the police informed me I could not fly my drone there...
That is so cool! The pictures were so steady. Have you flown a drone before or is that model that easy to maneuver? I am really expecting some GREAT shots now! The pressure is on! Congratulations!

How were you able to take off that close to LAX? I leave near TOA and I tried taking off in my backyard, automatic mode kicks in and auto lands the drone, saying I'm in restricted airspace.
I'm six miles from LAX. Check the regs. Also FAA and DJI both have sites outlining restricted airspace. Edit: I say check the regs not to be rude but because everyone piloting a drone should be familiar with the regs surrounding drone flight.
James, being a pilot in LA I could not agree that yes every drone operator should know the reg. I know the airspace in CA by heart, and I would never operate where I know it can be a danger for other planes.Just looking at the video it looked much closer than 6 miles, and I just bought the exact same drone you have, and it does show the red lines, my house is 1 mile from Torrance airport, so I am in the red, I was just going to go for 20' just to see my house roof, but I was surprised and also happy that there was such option and it auto landed and didn't allow me to take off again.
And the last one was such a tease! I'm busy at work but I'll try to get something together this weekend. We have lots of new hires I'm training so no time to film
