Who else came from Twoset violin?
Me
meh
Me
Lol I came to see the comments asking who came from Twoset
lol I did. and i'm glad that they put this in their video or else i would never have found out it existed. the movie came out in 2013 & i can't believe that i missed it e.e. it looks so damn epic
Sniper seems like a nice dude, just wants him to be the best he can be.
My teacher always be like:
There's no better way to cure stage fright than to have a sniper being pointed at you.
I'll have to try it sometime!
Yeaaaaaaah.
Maybe it would be simpler to just imagine the sniper.
Yes yes. Played a whole concert without touching the sustain pedal even once!
I heard the sustain pedal.
The antagonist wants THE RING
The precious...
MYYYYYY
PRECIOUS !
Woah! Frodo can play the piano
I've seen the film and at it's core it is simply a solid, enjoyable thriller, without any major major twists that change the plot. The ending is pretty straight forward and enlightening. I think this flick is primarily getting good reviews because of the pretty neat cinematography, the overall stylish presentation and Wood's distinctive ability to embody a man under heavy pressure.
My hopes, that the film would include deep psychological elements and an elaborate, unpredictable story, didn't really come true.
6.5/10
he doesn't understand playing the right note does not mean it's a good music. a robot can play a flawless note but it has no souls.
It's a set up to the master of why, watch the movie.
Just play slowly.
Or don't play at all? How can you play a wrong note then?
Yeah, like synthesia
Playing the right notes and playing musically are not mutually exclusive, either. They are really independent axes. And I’ll bet we’d all rather listen to a performance that is 100% technicality and 0% musicality, than one with 0% technicality and 100% musicality. Of course perfection is 100% in both musicality and technicality.
Someone needs to do this to Manchester United players.
Just when you thought scary Asian/Russian piano teachers were bad enough,,,
One problem, where is the page turner?
He doesn't have one because he doesn't need one.
three more problems: Why is a concert pianist using music in a performance, why is the orchestra so small for a Rachmaninoff concerto, and why is the soloist sitting behind the orchestra?
Using music? You mean sheet music? Because he hasn't played in several years and he has anxiety about the performance.
The Orchestra is small because it's a traditional theater with an orchestra pit and the pianist is on stage which also answers your third question.
But most importantly it's a movie and movies stretch the truth in order to fit a narrative. You could ask questions of a film like Star Wars like "Why are there sounds in space" or Lord of the Rings "where is Middle Earth"
But you don't because it's fiction and you're allowed to take liberties as long as it fits the narrative, drives a story forward and creates tension and drama. IF you don't understand that then watch documentaries.
DJ Kento LotR and Star Wars aren't set in our reality, so you can suspend disbelief. This movie is solidly set in our reality where it is hard to get past any inconsistency.
Gorenghal I was using exaggeration to prove a point but if you need it grounded a bit more in reality how about Patton. Patton is considered one of the greatest war films ever made, based on a true story too. Amazing performances from George C Scott and the supporting cast yet they use Jet planes for some scenes even though jet planes weren't used in combat until the 1950s.
When we watch a movie we're entering into that film's reality and now granted some times there are films so bad that you can't see past the flaws and it pulls you out of the experience. But I'm telling you, this is a good movie, it's really tense, a lot of fun to watch and Elijah's performance is great.
Elijah with his gorgeous eyes, enough for me. I'm seeing it
I saw that many people didnt get what the key was... Its explained in the movie where Clem and his assistant are talking. The man who owned that piano and taught Tom for years hid a key in the piano that opened some vault to all his "missing" fortune. So anyone who played La Cinquette correctly would get it. Clem was a bit theatrical about it and didnt want to just steal the piano or " get a robot that would perfectly play La Cinquette"
Whole*
Michael E. Wallendorf Exactly ! :P I feel like everyone coincidentally skipped that part of the movie XD
Why not just break the piano? more practical than waiting for someone to play La Cinquette flawlessly.
That item which is the key is actually called Macguffin, in which the hero and villain wanted but it is not too important to the story like the Master of Suspense said
I will now have this movie in my head every time I step on stage to perform...thanks a lot. LOL.
This looks like the most exciting piano based thriller of the year!!
Frodo should've stayed in the Undying Lands.
Reminds me of 'Phone Booth' though... I loved that film :P
Trust me, it's much better.
I trust you :3
SkyElekta meet up and do the trust fall...
Nelly Maylova I'll be right there
SAME! thought that right after the film
Here we go again with the good old "playing an instrument is just playing the right notes and the biggest screw up is missing a note or two."
This is certainly every conductor's dream. Killing a musician when he plays a wrong note
0:55 He's like, wait a minute that is not the piece I was supposed to play!
XD
Finally a trailer that doesn't give away the ending!
This looks really good, talk about tension.
A very good movie! The music was exquisite and the acting was very good. Suspenseful and entertaining.
lingling!
After seeing Frodo in Maniac, I'm very excited to see what he does with something like this. Looks good!
someone please tell me what happened at the ending of the movie when he pressed the last four buttons.. i hate endings that leave me clueless-_-
I really look forward to see Elijah in this movie! It looks awesome :3
Play along, little Hobbit!!!
love how they use A as the intro note
Elijah's performance was great, I honestly have no idea why people are criticizing him. Yeah, he was in LOTR. But these types of movies are way better than the over-commercialized ones. The fact that it wasn't made by a popular movie-making corporation is part of it's beauty; but in no way is the quality of this movie any less great. The movie is full of suspense and thrill and beautiful music with excellent acting! I definitely recommend watching it!
Looks like a brilliant movie
Gosh, since I've seen this trailer I think i have grown a fear of becoming the concert pianist I have always dreamed of :'(
Ha. I bet a thousand little kids who wanted to be Astronauts when they grew up changed their minds after seeing Gravity.
wowo this could be a stunner!
This is a amazing film. I definitely give it 5 stars!!!!!!😄
Can't wait for this movie
Why do people hate this movie
As long as its elijah its always good
Honestly though this wasnt bad
It looks spectacular.
Excellent film! Just finished watching it..The spoiler alert below was incorrect, FYI.
Hey every body.... I saw this movie and it was great to hear the music. The director did not notice one thing which pianists will notice is that the Pianist in the movie did not keep his feet on the sustain pedal which is a major mistake.
Director - You owe me one.
great flick, must watch
Does ANYONE know what song plays at the very beginning of this trailer after the gun sound? Those haunting chords? I'm dying to get that song but no one seems to know what piece plays at the beginning of this. :/
very good...i am interesting for watching
Incredible movie!!!! I loved it!
"phone booth" better
Damn it Wilfred, stop pranking Ryan!!
That looks good!!!!
This film reminds me of the Hitchcock films with James Stuart. Suspense overload.
Amazing movie
I had to check what this movie really was since the script was written by Damien Chazelle, the director and writer of the academy award winning film Whiplash. I wanted to check his previous work, but I noticed that he has barely done anything except for Whiplash and this film. This looks like a typical b movie though.
Must watch.
whats the name of the trailer music?
What is the song???? I want the one playing when it shows his hands flowing up and down the keys! Please help!!!!
Now that's how you edit a trailer
I anticipate some 'Black Swan' kind of twist and this whole thing is just in his head.
As a musician, those notes on the music sheets really scare me. (by notes I mean, the messages in red)
the lead should have gone to Leonardo Dicaprio, in Aviator he acted the role superb and this looks almost the same ,the phobia part that is .
It's not the same. I saw this movie at a film festival and it's perfect as is. The director and Elijah are good friends.
the aviator shit one of the best movies in my opinion
then I'm guessing you either haven't seen many movies or very many good films...
DJ Kento sorry i meant one of my favourite movies and also even if i am not that old i have seen many movies and many good films ( well my personal favourite is lawrence of arabia )
thanos danellis is it really your favorite or do you say that because you think that's what film lovers are supposed to say?
Looks very similar to Phone Booth, even Kiefer and John have an alike tone of voice
This is a brilliant trailer.
This movie reminds me of "Phone Booth". Seems like a good one! Cannot wait for it to be released!
Twoset Violin Squad unite.
Could you please tell me the name of the twoset video?
Looks pretty good!
Suuuper nice Bosendorfer x)
This gave me some Wood.
lmao
Phone booth movie witha a piano
:D
Ling Ling is the sniper
Any one knows the piece he plays
I want a sequel where he's forced at gunpoint to play a flawless rendition of Don't Stop Believin'
I like how they showed John cusac being the villain and punching him in the face
Great movie!
I wanna see this movie, #LoveElijahWood
Film trzymać napięciu, to na pewno
Spoiler alert: The antagonist is really just his agent trying to motivate him to play better.
No, it wasn't only about that obviously.
As a musician, wrong notes doesnt exist. U can play any notes as long as it fits.
This is like the movie speed but with a piano
Bit like phone booth and I loved that film
You know what I think this movie was awesome and I'm a musician (violinist) so please don't get butthurt because he didn't memorize the song jesus
love these types of movies. Unconventional and weird in it's own right.
wow
was this movie in the cinema yet? :O
Awesome movie!
comedy
oi!!!!!! me he puesto sentimental XD
the one good thing they had to the trailer was that they didnt show the bad guy but at the end of it they did, awesome
.. and like you couldnt tell who it was from the voice.. lol
This flick is a love letter to alfred hitchcock movies, and a damn good one.
This looks like a spinoff of the movie Phone Booth with Colin Farrell.
wow awesome ~ great movie ~ i wonder which chapter did the piano player perform ___
any movies about pianos sell!
Looks interesting, I'd see it. Probably not at the movies though-lol seems like everything comes out On Demand real fast anyway
The writer of Whiplash sure has a thing for high stakes musical performaces.
This is exactly why Gandalf said "Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee"
ling ling is not amused
I thought it was Wilfred.
this is how teachers should motivate 3 year olds :)
Thiss is so Wes Craven!
Fantastic! My wife is from Europe trained in a piano conservatory. She will not watch it 😞
Where he drops the phone in concert sounds like a hacked version of the end of the 3rd movement of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1.
1:42 - Best cut ever. =D
seems hard to pull off... but it's gotten great reviews.
AKA Speed 3: The Grand Piano.
Does the sniper sound like Cusack?
A cultivated Phone Booth!
Fun fact: The writer of this movie also directed Whiplash and La La Land and written 10 Cloverfield Lane.
