I used to have a driving route job that took me into Newark many, many years ago. I remember driving up (north) Broad St., Green St., and Ferry St. into Ironbound.
I'm from Richmond Va, and I love Newark New Jersey can't wait to visit again nobody believes me when I say Newark downtown reminds me of a bigger version of Richmond s downtown ❤
Awesome drive through Downtown Newark NJ
I love your channel. I'm from NJ and I love watching all of your travels in every state. If you ever come back to NJ, I recommend checking out Red Bank and Asbury Park
Newark has so much potential
I'm surprised at the number of historic looking churches
Wow what a beautiful city. Nice driving tour
My hometown
The Home of Tony Soprano
Yep!
Nice ride in Newark NJ
Can't wait..heading back up there 2 morrow...
Looks like a 3d world country with all those poles and wires hang8ng from them
New Jersey native here, living in Puget Sound area over 30 years now.
Hate to say it but Newark looks WAY better than either Seattle or Portland does now.
It's incredibly depressing how quickly idiot government can destroy the best of cities.
BTW, I'm old enough to remember what the 1967 riots did to Newark. It's pleasantly surprising to see how good Newark looks now. Hope it goes back to how livable it was before 1960.
Clean and beautiful i own a business on Bloomfield ave in Caldwell and think it great
brick city always 973
The ride was fun
Thanks for the footage, I watch lots of your videos since getting a 4k monitor and card. Especially since I was from NYC and NJ. I watch to remind me of just what a cesspool of dootz these places are. Makes me feel great knowing I never have to see these states again!
I hope whatever trauma you went thru, you can eventually heal from 🤍 the Garden State will always welcome you back w open arms!
Breathin' in some of that Newark road air - some of the worst pollution in the region. 🤠
After The NYC Area,Can You Do Long Island Next?
Any particular part? The island is 120 miles long and has 2 forks - both of which are different. North fork is a lot more sedate, South fork is where all the $$$ is. Actually, wouldn't be a bad idea to do what I've been meaning to do - drive out the south fork (he could actually drive through the town part of Southhampton and East Hampton, which is nice) all the way out to Montauk- then catch the Shelter Island ferry across through Shelter Island and then over to Greenport and back out the North Fork. Kind of the best of both worlds.
@@JimAllen-Persona Maybe Both Nassau And Suffolk Counties
Going to try to hit as much as I can. Once the snow starts to fall that my signal to start heading back South.
@@MileageMikeTravels … and the snow will be waiting for you there the way things are going.
Welcome to the Brick City, Newark!
even in jeresy theres always some impatient butthead.
😂
not one single crane
Baby Baltimore
Oh yeah I’ve heard it called that before
@@MileageMikeTravels I didn’t know that one.

An afternoon drive through Newark. Not as bad as I expected, honestly. Not a single drive-by or sex worker. Looks a lot like Queens. It's still early in the video though :-) :-) When you have parking lot fences that high (3:37) it isn't exactly a "safe" area.
I've been wanting to go see some shows at the Prudential Center but I'm never really sure my car will be there in the same state I left it after the show.
Edit: Gunshots at 12:41. I knew I'd hear them eventually :-) :-)
😂
honestly the airport is a worse drive than prudencial center. one wrong turn from the airport and you’re left in dingy alleyways
That was an exhaust backshot but it definitely sounds like gunfire lol
@@MileageMikeTravels Hey Mike, drove through Newark today to get to the Prudential Center. Who the hell put an arena in the middle of a city.. what a clusterf*ck. Signage sucks. There’s a public park on Broad with no benches. Coming down Broad (jammed with traffic) have to work your way over to Lafayette… 6:58 in the video. Not the best are but I envisioned it to be much worse. Not sure how safe that outdoor parking lot is across the street. Trying to get back to 280 is a damn nightmare… all the right turn lanes are jammed. Crossroads don’t go straight through, accidents waiting to happen. Might’ve been better had I been there before and was more familiar with the area. BTW… do you drive a red car with GA plates? I saw a really sharp u-turn and I’m thinking … Damn, is that Mike?
@@JimAllen-Persona no I have NC plates. Funny enough I actually was back in NJ a few days ago to film 280 and a few other spots before I leave the area. Just got back South a couple days ago. That interchange to get on 280 from downtown looks poorly designed for handling high traffic volumes.
This guy makes good content but he's a bad driver.
16:29 he uses the left turn only lane and goes straight.
Sometimes you have to make a quick decision when you’re not familiar with an area to know where the lane drops are coming up.
@@MileageMikeTravels It is *New Jersey* anyways
no shortage of terrible driving
