The Hawken brothers NEVER made Hawken flintlock rifles. A Hawken MUST be Percussion, PERIOD. That flintlock is an English scroll guard half stock rifle.
Charles E. Hanson, Jr. (1979). The Hawken Rifle: Its Place in History. The Fur Press. pp. 11-12 indicates they did make some flintlock rifles. In either case I think this rifle is a nice flintlock regardless
@@montanvs Hanson is wrong. The brothers worked on repairing flintlocks from fur trade brigades and there is no example of a S Hawken or J Hawken in flintlock. Your rifle is an example of a fine English Scroll guard half stock.
