I have 30 or 40 in my top 5 and another 15-20 in my top 10.🤘🦊🤘 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni 👹(a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... which amuses me probably more than it should😁). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track as usual of course) are the Oni👹 asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 I'm glad you noticed this was compilation video - if you check the description it lists the 10 concerts they used to make it (one of them was Wembley Arena in London, the other 9 were in Japan) and the 2 of those they used for the audio (it was a mix of Wembley and the Tokyo Dome). It isn't a bad compilation (there is a truly awful one, I'm so glad you didn't use that - that other one mixes up the different Kami Band members so badly - at least this one had the correct musicians even if what you were watching them play didn't always match what you were hearing them play). They were guitarists Mikio Fujioka (RIP Jan 2018) and Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. It does still lose a lot of the flow of the choreo with all the chopping and changing from one stage to another and with the lighting and costume changes that you would get to appreciate much more if watching a full single performance like the Budokan Black Night 2014 or the Legend 1997 performance from 2013. The Budokan also has a full intro from the Kami Band (with Leda Cygnus instead of Mikio for that one), Legend 1997 you don't get the intro but you do get 2 minutes of the girls just hyping the crowd.😁
With Babymetal it is difficult to pick a top song, I prefer talk about preferred perfomances. My top three are: "Road of Resistance - live in Japan", "Ijime Dame Zettai - live at Sonisphere 2014 UK" and "Megitsune (Official)". Then all the others....
This is a compilation of different shows, with the first part with the solos of the Kami band members. It's a good compilation, even if I prefer the performance of the single concerts. It's very common to find compilations like this one, created to limit copyright problems.

You can add "Syncopation" and "Tales of the Destinies" without hesitation. Also, while compilations are fine, you'll definitely get more out of an actual performance. I would suggest including the venue with your search, for example: Catch Me If You Can, Budokan 2014 is a much better version. And, the "For the Fox God" Channel has pretty much all the videos you will look for, high quality, with subtitles, and no compilations. I think other commenters will typically include this info as well. Either way, great reaction! My next suggestion: *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal solo, and an epic love ballad, Babymetal style. 🤘🦊

Love the energy and enthusiasm you bring to your reactions. Makes for a very enjoyable watch. One performance I'd like to recommend is Metal Kingdom live PIA Arena 2023. This just has so much more intensity and energy than the official video. Everything at this concert just seems to have been fire and it's nice because it's some of the more recent concert footage. You mentioned being on a journey of discovery and, in a way, the earlier days were a journey of discovery for Babymetal. They were discovering the world of metal music from the position of performing it while at the same time their fans were on that journey with them. I think, in a lot of ways, that is why there is such a strong connection with them. It's pretty tough to pick my top 5 favorites. If I had to pick I would say they are, but not necessarily in order.. Ijime Dame Zettai Shine Time Wave Divine Attack Akatsuki Ask me next week and the list might change a little.

I think you may have been guided in the wrong direction. This is a mish mash of several concerts. Budokan Black night is generally the best go to option for this song, plus the Kami band solo is genuine rather than overlayed onto a few different concerts. Banger of a tune though. Top 5 is hard to pick... Headbanger and Akatsuki (watch that live at Budokan Black Night 2014, it's a Su solo) are my two favourite, but after that I can only pick a top 15. Catch Me If You Can is in that top 15, its pure adorable power. Ijime Dame Zettai, Megitsune, Yava, Dusk Till Dawn, Syncopation, Monochrome, Light.and Darkness, BMC, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Iine, Metal Kingdom..... I can't stop at 5 🙂 If you want more Kami band intros, there are only a few songs with them; Yava at Fox Festival, Kagerou live, Rhondo of Nightmares (with Mischief of Metal Gods intro), Awadama Fever (look for versions with intro, not all I think). Catch Me If You Can was the first Babymetal song I saw, it piqued my curiosity enough to click by accident on Headbanger (the Moametal version, worth watching just to hear her sing) and I was sold. Been dug in at Stage 12 in the Foxhole ever since.

Like others, it is difficult to pin point a top 5. I have a favourite but the lower down the list I go things tend to get more murky. Especially 3 on down. Mainly because it becomes more about emotional impact and that changes the more I go through life and certain songs make more significant impacts depending upon the season. Like lately Da Da Dance, Syncopation and Timewave really jumped pretty high up there for me. I didn't pick songs from the latest album since they are still fresh, but I feel Light and Darkness, Time Wave and The Legend (in that order) don't get the love they deserve. I never thought I would put Time Wave in there, but once it was performed live I completely changed my mind about the song. It sounds much better live and the choreographed stage show is great.

Alas, I am sorry to report that you CAN go wrong and, in this case, you did - excellent song, terrible version. It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. The version you wanted was the "Budokan Black Night (2014)" version - the one I suggested on your "Gimme Chocolate!!" reaction (where I mentioned the CZcams playlist "BABYMETAL Top Twenty"). This is one of my favorite Babymetal songs. Some of my other favorites that aren't widely considered top songs are Awadama Fever and Uki Uki Midnight.

You mentioned being on a journey of discovery and, in a way, the earlier days were a journey of discovery for Babymetal. They were discovering the world of metal music from the position of performing it while at the same time their fans were on that journey with them. I think, in a lot of ways, that is why there is such a strong connection with them.

I think you may have been guided in the wrong direction. This is a mish mash of several concerts. Budokan Black night is generally the best go to option for this song, plus the Kami band solo is genuine rather than overlayed onto a few different concerts. Banger of a tune though. All about playing hide n seek with an ONI ( demon). See you next time.

Top 5 is hard to pick... Headbanger and Akatsuki (watch that live at Budokan Black Night 2014, it's a Su solo) are my two favourite, but after that I can only pick a top 15. Catch Me If You Can is in that top 15, its pure adorable power. Ijime Dame Zettai, Megitsune, Yava, Dusk Till Dawn, Syncopation, Monochrome, Light.and Darkness, BMC, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Iine, Metal Kingdom..... I can't stop at 5 🙂
If you want more Kami band intros, there are only a few songs with them; Yava at Fox Festival, Kagerou live, Rhondo of Nightmares (with Mischief of Metal Gods intro), Awadama Fever (look for versions with intro, not all I think).
Catch Me If You Can was the first Babymetal song I saw, it piqued my curiosity enough to click by accident on Headbanger (the Moametal version, worth watching just to hear her sing) and I was sold. Been dug in at Stage 12 in the Foxhole ever since.

Like others, it is difficult to pin point a top 5. I have a favourite but the lower down the list I go things tend to get more murky. Especially 3 on down. Mainly because it becomes more about emotional impact and that changes the more I go through life and certain songs make more significant impacts depending upon the season. Like lately Da Da Dance, Syncopation and Timewave really jumped pretty high up there for me. But if I were to choose:

4: Babymetal Death (all versions)
5: Brand New Day

There are of course other songs that could fit these descriptions, but I think I picked the most important ones. I didn't pick songs from the latest album since they are still fresh, but I feel Light and Darkness, Time Wave and The Legend (in that order) don't get the love they deserve. I never thought I would put Time Wave in there, but once it was performed live I completely changed my mind about the song. It sounds much better live and the choreographed stage show is great.

Alas, I am sorry to report that you CAN go wrong and, in this case, you did - excellent song, terrible version. It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL.
The version you wanted was the "Budokan Black Night (2014)" version - the one I suggested on your "Gimme Chocolate!!" reaction (where I mentioned the CZcams playlist "BABYMETAL Top Twenty"). Fortunately, there's no reason why you can't try again with the real deal, not some chopped up piece of garbage. 🦊🤘
