  • This superb take off in the hands of new pilot Bill Ramsey and of course with him Kev Andy and Barry shows the power of those Rolls Royce Olympus engines you can also hear the howl from behind dont think i have ever heard that before.XH558 is seen here leaving Bruntingthorpe maybe for the last time after attending Cold War Jets day. 29.05.2011

brillaint video, under the suggestions on the left while watching this was a clip titled XH 558 - TAXI RUN - BRUNTINGTHORPE - 1997, let's keep her in the air where she belongs :)

I have read where the UK is deciding to do without long range strategic bombers.

she wont be for much longer, as the engines and wing spar are reaching the end of their airworthy life, and there are no more olympus engines left nor any wing spars. unless the money can be found to rebuild them, she will soon be grounded and resigned to fast taxi runs only, as she will be unsafe to fly :(
i would rather see her grounded and preserved in a museum than destroyed in a terrible and preventable disaster :)
