Thanks, my husbands phone has been off since he passed two years ago. Could not charge and would not even give me any sign of life. After trying this out, it turned on and man was i overwhelmed. @@UltimateDIY hey man, taking my chances here. My phone died in the cold, so in most cases it will be fine if you wait for the phone to get back to normal temperature; but not for me. Battery drained and I tried to take the battery out to try the "jump start" but was unsuccessful. But, what worked was getting it charged a bit on a wireless charger. Now it is fine on the wired charger. Whoohoo!!
The reason is if it's very discharged, and you charge it back too fast (like you do with 5 volts), it can overheat. www.digikey.com/en/articles/techzone/2016/sep/a-designer-guide-fast-lithium-ion-battery-charging
@@UltimateDIY yes. I think it's hard enough to keep contact on that little area. What I would do is cut strips the width of the contact and about 3" long. First TAPE the contacts that you don't want to touch. Then you take the wire and you tape them to the correct contact.. I have a Samsung j 7 .it's 6years old and I need to charge the battery so that I can transfer everything to my new phone. And I didn't want to spend 50dollars just so I can charge it long enough to transfer everything. This video was a informative.
Since my battery is quite old now and has been at 0 volts for a while, does that not mean that the battery has internally short circuited itself and will not be able to charge? Also it seems a bit puffy
Don't know if you still replying but... I have a Samsung Galaxy Trend Neo, phone has been broken so I use that app "Vysor" via my usb cable to display the screen on my computer (cause I can't see anything but the phone still works). The battery stopped charging, but I took off the bottom plastic because it was blocking the connectors. Well it worked but I forgot to turn it off one time and now I'm back to square one. I think I need a jumpstar... Will this work or blow up in my face because I took off the bottom plastic? xD
Yes correct, because the connectors between the battery and phone weren't touching properly and the plastic was blocking it. The little mod I did to the battery did work as they were finally able to touch properly.
Not really. So long as you didnt modify the cell itself. So in other words if you only took off the hard plastic piece your fine. So long as you didnt modify the battery itself.
You connect the USB cable to any USB port, just make sure it's not some chinese no name usb adapter that you use, as those don't have good separation between mains and 5v sometimes. If you do not short the two wires you should have no problems on either a laptop or adapter.
+Van Souza sadly it does not as a whole pack. Maybe it works sometimes with individual cells in the pack, but when I tried it on a hp battery it did not work even with cells, because the electronics went into some kind of protection mode.
Hello, I have a question, it would be nice if you can answer me. I have galaxy s4 mini lte, and my phone doesnt show battery percentage corectly. Battery get drained on 1%, when I put phone to charge for about 10 minutes, I disconect a charger and after phone restart battery show above 30%. What it could be, phone or battery problem? Of course battery can be 100% charged, but I think that about 30% of battery not good
I had a similar problem with my S4 mini. It would drop from about 15% to 0% in a few minutes. In my case all was fixed after doing about 5 full charges from 0% to 100%. This happened in my situation because for a long time I did uncomplete charges and it confused the phone so it did not know the real battery capacity anymore. I think you are in the same situation. Also a battery charges way faster in the first part of the charge cycle and drops in speed when it's almost full. If you are still unsatisfied after the 5 full recharges you could get a Zerolemon extended battery, I have one now and it's great. You can see it in one of my videos.
Hi mines always at 2% and then the phone stops reciveing any power from the charger tired with every charger but the phones always 2% it would be nice if you reply mine is a gionne p5w and the battery is 2000mah and the maximum volt forvthe battery is 4.35v but i use a Samsung charger which is 5volts and 2 amp thanks please reply :) writing from my moms phone
+Social Jetlag hi there. You have a completly different problem there. Your battery could be defective or the charging circuit in the phone could be brocken. You need to take it to a repair shop.
No, it will not, unless you try to connect a defective battery and for way more than a few seconds! You are not charging it like this, you are just giving it enough voltage to go above the minimum level where the electronics kick in. You can read about it here: mods-n-hacks.gadgethacks.com/how-to/fix-dead-lithium-ion-batteries-wont-hold-charge-anymore-0147197/
+The Best Weirdo Meow I think he's allright. Lithium batteries do not just explode. They start to swell, then release gas and then smoke and flames. They are not built in such a way that pressure can acumulate to create explosions. The real danger is the toxic smoke and fire.
There are usb cables that are only for charging (only 2 wires inside) and other usb cables that have 2 more wires also for data. The easiest is to do this with a charging only cable, but it can also be done with the other type, you just need to ignore the 2 data wires.
I do not know what blinking means on that model. Do a little online or user manual searching. Might mean that the battery needs replacing, but who knows...
this works but after the battery gets low or drain, which happens really fast, my acer liquid x1 wont detect it and i have to jump start it over again. i guess i have to buy a new battery.
What do you mean? This works, there are lots of other videos and tutorials showing exactly this way of awakening the battery. My only modification from those is using a USB cable.
Are you an idiot, big bluff, bull shit... It works. How do you think its possible to discharge a lithium ion cell to 0.00 volts with little to no side effects. In the long run the issue in series battery packs is reverse charging, or for example all but one cell is at 0 volts, but the other is at 1.0 volts, now lets say this pack is a 18v pack. You essentially will be charging a single cell 3.7v nominal battery to 18 volts. However, this battery is a single cell...
