- Apple released version 2.0 of their MagSafe wallet. Nothing changed except the 2021 version includes the Find My feature using an NFC chip which registers the wallet as a new device

I didn’t know there was an updated version! Good to know. This is so far my favorite minimalist Wallet. I don’t typically have it attached to my phone though. I wonder if when registered, and someone else attaches it to their phone if it’ll update for you as long as they’re connected to a cell tower
Is there a case you find the wallet secures it best from Apple? Silicone or leather?
The only reason to get this is really for the find my feature... there are quite a few 3rd party magsafe wallets that have more function for far less..Now that Apple is allowing Find My with 3rd party we'll see those wallets updated . I'm guessing high price licensing coupled with supply chain issues, we are not seeing them sooner.
I picked this up last weekend along with the leather case. My main complaints are are that the thumb push is on the “back” of the wallet, meaning you need to take it off the phone to use it. It’s an extra step. The RFID blocking is my other qualm. I don’t use it for credit cards but would like to have been able to use my metro card without taking it out every time…the last know location is nice but quite gimmicky tbh
Also been on the lookout for an alternative Apple MagSafe wallet for my iPhone 13 pro max and came across geometric goods. Looks like quality (full grain Italian leather) and leaning towards purchasing one. They have a 3 and 6 card version which is great. Anyone have experience with this brand?

If you lose it and someone attaches your wallet to their phone will it show that location of the wallet?

I own a 1.0, and although I like it’s simplicity and ease of use, the material on my blue leather is very sub-par. The edges are fraying off and smudging.
That was my experience during the carry test, the "leather" didn't really patina, which is odd.
Can I suggest that you guys do a review of the Tru Virtu Slide wallet? It's made from a German company if I'm not mistaken. A friend of mine had it and I'd argue it has a better cash holder than the Secrid wallet.

Ekster also came out with a MagSafe compatible wallet that look like it can hold more than 3 cards for around $40 USD

Still works as the wallet is RFID lined so it won't interfere with Apple Pay

Nice review, however I really suggest you to censor the location where you live. There has been instances which some can figure out where you live just from simple map like that.

In my unscientific opinion, they're the same. If you come across a demonstration using a measurement demonstration please let me know.
This case is a little flawed - the 'Find Me' feature ONLY shows the last location of the wallet if you lose it. It does NOT track it - so you can't constantly follow it on a map if it moving about.
Correct. Good first step, but it really needs active tracking. Hopefully we see that in the next iteration
The problem is that to track, you need battery and GPS antenna……how you think that Apple do this without making the wallet much thicker.
@@madtiger7955 Agreed, that could be a problem. Especially when you look at the circuit board for the AirTag and what's required there. But, I have faith the Apple engineers can do it, IF they want to.f
This is the exact reason I chose v1 over v2. Until Apple uses AirTag tech in the wallet I’d rather just pay less for the older version.
Good review! I would suggest to lose the word animation on the final score screen, it looks outdated. Also, I think you should merge the score and facts/pros and cons together. They often disappear too quickly and I think having summary screen with the final score is a good way of summarizing the experience.

No, it's not built for that. The tab at the bottom prevents anything soft, like cash, from slipping through.

Apple packaging isn't easy to get into? I think that's a lie. They notoriously design amazing packaging and, looking at other videos with this product, it seems you're the only one struggling to open it.
