i adored this because celeb side quests is one of my favourite rabbit holes to go down, but i am BAFFLED there was no mention of the true king of side quests: snoop dogg. the man formed his own football league of which he played in, made a gospel music album, dabbled in bollywood, was in WWE, had a cooking show with Martha stewart, narates his own nature documentary and has a cooking book titled "From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen". shaq is respectfully the humble servant to 'tha boss dogg'

fun background about wrexham: my pal is from like a village over from them, and apparently the view of rob macelhenny and ryan reynolds is actually pretty positive over there - the football team had almost no investment and this helped save and elevate something that a lot of people really care about. also apparently it's v weird just to be constantly seeing ryan reynolds on all your friends' snapchat stories
In terms of buying Wrexham, it might sound like an odd thing to do but as football is such a huge thing in Wrexham, them buying it and basically not ripping the team and all the fans off (which happened before) and helping get them to next tier in football has massively helped the town so I wouldn’t really say its an odd business idea. It’s actually worked out quite well for everyone involved

I haven’t tasted celebrity alcohol brands but I’ve heard of a few. And when you mentioned the Jeremy Renner app, I also thought of Danny and Drew’s video testing the app.
When it comes to celebrity side quests I always have to think of Glass Onion which features Jeremy Renner's hot sauce and Jared Leto's hard kombucha. Both are (un?)fortunately made up things, but I think it is be a very celebrity thing to have their own brands of hot sauce or kombucha.
Growing up, the celebrity side quests that were interesting were Bipasha Basu’s ‘Love Yourself’ DVD and Shilpa Shetty’s Yoga Classes.
Some of the celebrity alcohol brands are fine but they already existed and were simply bought, the celebrity has nothing to do with production mostly it's just a marketing/money thing like you said
This is such a great video concept. 1) I would love to be served drinks by Bill Murray, 2) Shaq having a doctorate in Ed is damn impressive, and 3) Paltrow's Goop side quest deserves to be singled out from the other celebrity beauty brands, due to its shameless push of pseudoscience and gross, predatory marketing that definitely violates FTC guidelines 😺

I’ve had Aviation Gin and it’s pretty good and found in a ton of bars/restaurants! But Ryan Reynolds just owns a stake in the gin and promotes it, it was well established as a gin for over a decade before his involvement. Definitely different from celebrities who “create” alcohol. Also all celebrity tequila is bad, all of it. No matter how much they talk about locals making it or how it’s small batch or something, I promise it’s not.
Tried the Snoop Dog wine, and it was surprisingly pretty good.
