Hello and welcome!
Today we're reviewing the AP5 built by MKE in Turkey and imported by Century Arms. A few years back I got my hands on a MP5 post. sample when I was visiting a gun range in AZ, needless to say I was absolutely floored. Just a few years ago these clones were going for near double what they are now, and at this point almost 1/3rd the price of a HK SP5. The SP5 is the "American" MP5 that is imported from HK. The fit and finish are pretty darn solid and they do a great job replicating the MP5. For many folks including myself, this is a holy grail gun and something to add to your collection without the HK price tag. I'm stoked to get this thing to the range and will certainly do a follow up video; talking about break-in period, functionality, etc. It wasn't long after I got this that upgrades were already on the way, despite not having shot it yet. Stay tuned for future videos on this bad boy, along with some other goodies possibly an HK pistol.

Yep, I got bit by the mod bug when I got my AP5 core model last December (Christmas present to myself). Got the binary trigger, HK pictogram trigger housing, MAD bolt, HK A2 and A3 stocks, tropical handguard, 4 HK mags, 2 MKE mags, and a low profile optic mount for my Eotech. So yeah I totally agree with you, it ADDS up (especially when you burn through ammo in binary mode) lol.
Holy smokes you went full bore lol! Nice line up of goodies you got there haha. I’d love to scoop up a binary - just kills me that they’re almost double the AR platform. This clone looks great. So if I buy a SP5 I’m basically paying $2000 for the HK rollmark. Now I have to decide between the AP5 or AP5-P (can’t do both. I am poor).
I believe the fit & finish on the hk is still a bit better and of course you’re paying for the hk name. I’m extremely pleased with my ap5, in due time I’ll get the ap5-p. I'm suprised these core model MKE's are even still available. I got an AP5-m also still for under what the SP5 costs, and I turned my AP5 into an EXACT 2-pin SP5 down to the identical pictogram housing. It can be done. Semper Fi.
No kidding - I know some of these companies are moving inventory, mostly the packaged deals. The ones that come with the extra mags, flash hider, etc. The core model seems to stick around - at least now it seems like inventory has caught up a bit. Few months back they were going in and out of stock frequently. I’m glad you’ve had a solid experience with it so far - sounds like you’ve got a sweet setup! By the way - those pictograph housings are amazing, word on the street is that hk stopped importing them and supply is tight. Prices going up.
@@VPTACTICAL I tried to post my nicest AP5 set up, but I noticed CZcams killed it. One day it'll be a free country again. Check out the HK MP5 FBI (0,1) Ambi-Trigger Group in semi-auto. Match it with the AP5 and take a look at what you've got. Semper Fi.

I make a LRHO for it, while slapping it. :) p.s. Leesporting has AR lowers for this platform with AR trigger packs available .................. the stock trigger sucks.

I’ll check out those lowers, I’ve heard good things about the timney aftermarket for the mp5 series. Any thoughts on those?
When you say purist with the wide foreend, that’s sort a misnomer. I’m Turkish and the slim foreend already on the gun is the standard grip on all Turkish military and police mp5s.
I get what you’re saying, however, that’s the beauty it’s based on our own experiences and perspective as well.
@VPTACTICAL i live in Missouri, American citizen, for me i want the ap5 in stock configuration because it's the first mp5 I've ever seen in real life. Literally every cop in turkey has one, with the collapsing stock, slim foreend, and flashhider. Alot of people like the wide foreend because of the die hard movie. I respect your choice.

My AP5 is a fun gun. Just don't count on any customer support Century Arms.
Mine is definitely a range toy, could have other uses as well. It has been flawless to date and I haven’t had to use their customer service. Have you ran into any issues with them personally?
@@VPTACTICAL Yes I have. I had an issue with my safety lever. All I wanted to do was exchange it. You would have thought I was trying to get a new gun. I finally gave up and purchased one from HK Parts.
@@edstrecker4275 That’s a bummer - especially for something so simple. I modify most of mine anyhow and generally don’t rely on manufacturers if I don’t have to. Hopefully you ended up with a much better part than factory anyhow lol.
Does the plastic case come with all cores? I just purchased the core with brace from Atlantic firearms.
Far as I know they should come with one, typically they’ll list it on the website in the description section. It’ll say exactly what comes with the gun as far as accessories etc. Congrats on your new gear - which model did you get? AP5, AP5P, AP5M…
@@VPTACTICAL Thanks for the quick reply! I got the Ap5 "standard" I reckon you'd call it. The full size you have in this video. As far as accessories I know for sure it comes with the Sb brace. It'll look nice next to my Cai CETME C!
