Loved Amanda since we were both 10 years old...I just found out. I was reaching out to wish her a belated birthday--which I believe was May 29th. A moment of shock... Love you always, dear Amanda.
Omg! I’ve been offline for a while…I noticed she hadn’t posted in a year, I assumed she took a break. This is heartbreaking 💔. Thank you for this tribute….I loved her take on the fashion world and she actually made me start watch old Hollywood movies as a millennial. I miss you Amanda🌸🌸❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this heartfelt tribute to lovely Amanda. She was such a joy to watch, and so very knowledgeable. I’m missing her terribly, although I’m far from being alone in that respect. There’s an empty place in our hearts and on this Earth where Amanda brightened our days with her style and Grace.
Amanda Hallay Heath 1965-2023, we love and miss you. Through her influence, she is the reason I started my own CZcams channel. Thank you Amanda for your inspiration!
What an absolutely lovely tribute! My name is Francisco..I am Amanda's step father. I am the one wearing the blue blazer standing next to David in the family photo (about 30 seconds into the video). I had no idea of this video or else I would have commented sooner. I don't know if you are aware but Amanda's husband passed away about two months after she did...followed by my husband, Amanda's dad. It's been emotionally challenging and just yesterday I was upset over it being 6 months since our David passed away. Yet, here I am having watching your amazing tribute to Amanda and her legacy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my healing.
Sir I am crying reading your lovely message and a big hug from me! Amanda and Rupert where my Nick and Nora Charles and I loved seeing their pics on Facebook. Loved watching Amanda's videos every week and I learned a lot. I love your husband's books and he became one of my favorite artists. Thank you again for your kind words and I hope you heal and recover. @@7days7conversations
Oh my god, I'm crying right now. I had no idea she had passed away. I found her channel at a difficult time in my life, in 2015, and though I've never been on Facebook, she kept me going and cheered me up for many years. She even corresponded with me a few times over shared interests. Thank you, thank you thank you Jon Feld for making this beautiful montage. I don't know if I would ever have known, and I have been wondering where she's been. I will miss you, Amanda Hallay.
I keep coming back here, almost compulsively. Every time one of her fashion vids pops up I am overwhelmed with sadness. I know she and I would have become friends, and I so looked forward to sharing our mutual appreciations. Such a loss, for me and for the world. A huge, loving light has been taken from all of us.
I am so sorry to hear of Amanda's (and Rupert's) passing! I discovered her channel last year and as a life-long lover of art and fashion, I was delighted by the depth and breadth of her knowledge, vibrant spirit, and her elegant, soothing voice. Seriously, I could listen to her speak for hours! I wish I had joined the FB group. I am gradually making my way through her back catalog of videos, and I am so glad that she's left these treasures for us. I am sorry for your loss. It's clear she was loved.
You can say that again! It's because of her I have a youtube channel. She was one hell of a dame, a combo of Nora Charles, Auntie Mame and Lynn Redgrave.
@@cas7367 you are very welcome. I was shocked myself when I found out that she had passed and even more shocked when I found out Rupert past too. It broke my heart to realize I lost my Nick and Nora Charles. For me, Amanda was like Nora Charles, A untie Mame, and Lynn Redgrave, all in one.
Lovely tribute. I am so saddened but so glad that I found the UHF - Professor Halley is still the heart of our group, even though each of ours is broken
I’m so very sad and sorry to hear the news of Amanda’s passing. I have so enjoyed all her CZcams videos, I will miss her channel very much. My heartfelt condolences and love to her family and friends. Thank you Amanda xxx ✨
Such a talented, wonderful, inspirational & kind woman. I was devastated to hear of Amanda's sudden passing. Today I am shocked & saddened to hear about the loss of her dear husband Rupert. Its just too tragic! I know they will be together in the great beyond. Rest in peace & power Amanda & Rupert. 💔🌠💫❤️
Thank you for this sweet remembrance. I am deeply saddened by this. While I know nothing about fashion I felt a deep connection with this woman I knew only through these utube videos. As I explained to her, she is the only person I ever came across who shared such a deep appreciation for the beauty of costumes in the Agatha Christie "Poirot" televised series. I just recently saw her video on the Twenties and wanted to tell her how much I appreciated her singling out Louise Brooks as so emblematic of the decade -- I consider her the flash bulb of the Twenties. Now she'll never know. I loved her story of Michigan's Grand Hotel as I always wanted to go there. This feels like such a loss to me! I fear it was Covid that robbed us of her, but I'll hope not. So intelligent, so classy, so connected to our history. Hugs to you, Amanda.
so sad to learn of her passing,i love her channel, she seemed so sweet and kind,it must be devastating for her poor family. I hope she will be remembered,i have watched other channels with fashion history but they are all so critical and mean,i really enjoyed Amanda being positive and polite ,even when something was obviously not something she liked, others could leard a lot from watching her.
She had cancer on her lower back and it made its way to her lungs and it wound killing her. And here another sad story, her soul mate and husband Rupert died not long afterwards. I lost my Nick and Nora Charles.

I didn’t know she had passed. I wish her family would allow comments on her YT channel. I am so shocked. Memory eternal, Amanda.

She's the epitome of kindness, grace, and joy for life. We can see those qualities in her face. Thank you for the lovely video, Jon.

To quote the late Amanda Hallay Heath from Ultimate Fashion History, “Fashion isn’t an island, it’s a response”
So sad to hear this she was so inspiring and smart!
I recently found out about her passing not too long ago and I’m heartbroken. 😢
Me too! I felt like I lost my Auntie Mame.
What a lovely tribute. Thank you for posting.🌹
Missing Amanda ❤❤❤
Does anyone know what happened? It’s all very sudden
She had cancer on her lower back and it made its way to her lungs and it wound killing her. And here another sad story, her soul mate and husband Rupert died not long afterwards. I lost my Nick and Nora Charles.
😢
What happened?
All I know is she was admitted to the hospital and passed away after a few days. Her family hasn't said anything yet.
