did it actually work and how is the latency? Last time I tried one of these type services there was just enough latency to make it feel really weird. Nothing like sitting in the same room
Heh guys. Thanks for your interest, which is understandable! This was my first test, having sourced both a Ethernet to Lightning adapter for my MacBook and the cheapest audio interface I could find at gear4music.co.uk. What I am trying to do is to research whether some of my ukulele playing friends can use this to practise together. The conclusion at the moment is that I can hear other people who have mastered the technology jamming away together online in what sounds like a reasonable session so I'm fairly confident that it can be made to work (if you know what you are doing) and more importantly for me if all the other people I want to practise with have a) the right gear and b) the knowledge to use it. Some of them have gone off to source ethernet adapters. I can see why Apple abandoned having an ethernet socket in their later models but its a pain in the ass right now. In my latest trials with another couple of uke players with no additional gear latency was a bit of a problem but I know one of them does not have a good broadband signal. I'm also struggling to understand why I can't get my bass uke to sound very loud when I plug it into my instrument socket alongside the microphone socket on the audio interface and I'm wondering if it needs a pre-amp. P.S. - Headphones are a must to stop feedback.

so what actually did you do.. you didn't show us it working , or with another player or with a tune /song ??
Audio in this video is horrible. All we hear is very quiet mumbling. Recomend you re-shoot this video with quality audio. Thanks.
