Cult Leader is an SLC hardcore punk quartet formed in 2013 after the breakup of three members' former band Gaza. They soon signed with Deathwish Inc and released an EP plus two full lengths through the iconic taste-making label. Though relative newcomers to the scene, Cult Leader has quickly gained a reputation for their savage, breathtaking sound and extreme live shows.

As a metal guitarist and lifelong lover of making music and doing so I can safely say I have absolutely no fucking clue what the guitarist is doing half the time during those really fuckin weird parts. He is like TOm Morrello, only good at what he does and plays guitar.
He plays in a lot of really strange tunings to accommodate the nasty sounding single barred finger chord and pull off type riffs. I asked him at a show what tunings he played in and was just told “good luck figuring it out”
Only found one tab and this was the tuning posted Bb1, F2, B3, Eb3, Bb3, B3
I dont even know wtf that is lol wtf is Bb1? lol Bb3? WHat? lol I thought I know about tuning my guitar but apparently it's something I know the bare basics of.

I’ll never understand what michael plays on guitar. So wild.
A lot of cowboy chords with the high three strings tuned very weirdly. SOURCE: Learned This We Celebrate by ear on guitar and the hardest part was figuring out the fucking tuning for those three strings. Off the top of my head it was some thing like D# A# F# with regular drop C on the heavy strings, but don't quite me on that. It took me nearly 3 hours to pinpoint what it was exactly and I have it written down somewhere. Took me less than an hour to learn the actual song. Anyways yes the cowboy chord riding is an absolute essential part of his sound
