It really shows how effective animation can be when used well, even if it's for political purposes. It's a cute, fun jingle and the style is so simple yet instantly likable.
While most people associate Eisenhower with what he did in World War Two, he is totally underrated as a president. He set the wheels in motion for the interstate system, the integration of schools, the defense of the country against Russia, the end of the Korean War, and quite a few other things. Not to mention that he was one of the most personable presidents that the United States has ever seen!
He also spoke out against the McCarthyism and Military Industrial Complex. One big con is The Lavender Scare that let the government to discriminate against homosexuals and force them out of the Closet in the 1950s. Yeah that was Bad, but it was also just the Culture at the Time. The Personable aspect of his character were also very important as the Nation just got out of WWII and was entering a Cold War. Its not just a Matter of Policies but also a Matter of Person. A Leader should not seem unfeeling toward those they lead.

They decided it based on him being a hero of WWII and on what he said during the campaign. This was only a commercial spot. Disney made it and Irving Berlin wrote the song.
Jesus, imagine if a republican made an ad for Biden, imagine how big his forehead would be by representing the pain he brought to america. Eisenhower for hall of Fame!
Ironically, most liberals (real ones, not the brain washed Democrats) can respect a man like Ike. Back then, Republicans actually had brains, and this is coming from a right-winger
