- Roy P. Disney takes Disney Files on Demand editor on a tour of the private Disneyland apartments built for his great uncle, Walt Disney. The intimate apartment sits just above the Disneyland Fire Department on Main Street.
On this Disneyland walking tour, the two also head over to New Orleans Square to visit the location, just above Pirates of the Caribbean, where a larger Disney family apartment was envisioned to be built during a park expansion that was in progress when Walt passed away. The area is now home to an exclusive VIP experience, 21 Royal, that begins at Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa and ends at the luxurious apartment style dining room with a once in a life culinary experience.

I have had the privilege to tour Walts apartment and 21 royal back in 2016. It was certainly my biggest Disney Geek moment

Danielle it was through adventures by Disney. Our guide said it’s not a usual thing and I guess we got super lucky!

@@DanielleS21 I didn't know about the Adventures by Disney option. I got to go in the apartment via the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, which is about 100ish dollars and must be booked ahead of time (it takes you other places too and includes lunch). However, every once in a while the apartment will be closed and the tour will take you to Walt's Dream Suite over Pirates of the Caribbean instead.
I wish the walls could talk. Walt was so amazing! Miss his creativity!♡
I love the apartments I wish I could stay a couple months inside is Disneyland it is so beautiful.
I was in the New Orleans location when it was a high-end Disney Art shop and what amazed me was how quiet it was. I could stand in the middle of the room and watch the Mark Twain go by and not hear a thing

This is a very cool look behind the scenes at Walt's family apartments. So amazing to imagine him up in his apartment looking down at such a happy place that would never have existed without his ideas and the talents of the Imagineers!

I've been in Walt's apartment, Club 33 and 21 Royal ( aka Dream Suite ) and it has been a complete honor. I hope that everyone gets a chance to see at least one, if not all, of those in their life. Until now I had no idea there was a Roy P. Disney, though. I've always wished a family member would be re-involved again in some capacity, something prominent. I realize the drive and innovation probably won't be there but just to be a Disney member and a goodwill ambassador would be nice.

As i pointed out heritages if first creators any company,go to their bloodlines its upto them how to safeguard and keep those going, from arts crafts to other priceless legacies,who by virtue of their creation became a name , instead of going into collectors vaults.
