ABOUT XSCAPE: STILL KICKIN IT:
Xscape: Still Kickin' It will follow the four original members of the multi-platinum hit '90s girl group, as they make their triumphant return to the stage after nearly 20 years apart. Since the breakup, Kandi has become a sought after Grammy-winning songwriter and successful entrepreneur, but is she ready to share the spotlight again? Putting her music on hold to make family her number one priority, Tiny is keen on relaunching herself in the industry, but just as her music career is on the rise her marriage is tested. LaTocha is all about focusing on the group and pushing them to the next level of super stardom, meanwhile, Tamika who continued in the industry over the years is looking to get back to her roots with where her music career all started. With two sold out shows in Detroit, performances at the BET Awards and Essence Festival, will the group be able to reconcile and look past bubbled up resentments and give their fans the comeback they've been eagerly anticipating?

Update: at the BET Honors they ended up doing just what Kandi suggested and it worked! Go look. The ending was perfect and Kandi’s high note was the highlight. I think Tocha didn’t like it because it was Kandi’s idea.
Big facts…Kandi is the true brains of their group. It’s why Kandis has the most success. She knows them, and she knows the business. And it’s why her career took off quicker than LoTasha Scott. Has nothing to do with platonic or personal relationships. But all to do with intellect and the industry. Shout-Out to Kandi for doing her homework. She is a true legend and if Xscape would listen to her they will get more bags and coins. REAL TALK!
True but in the grand scheme, Latocha was right. You always end on your biggest hit. Beyoncé ended on “Crazy in Love” until she had “Irreplaceable”, and the “Single Ladies”, etc. You always end on your biggest hit so that way you can keep your audience for the entire show
@@JLPerryTV they are not Beyoncé baby two different folks lol y’all find some way ti always bring in Beyoncé she is not GOD
You should always start a show with one of your biggest hits and also end with one of your biggest hits... Start with "Still Kickin It" and end with "Understanding".
Renard Diggs exactly! People are giving Kandi such a hard time for being vocal, but I agree with her so much.
No, they should end with Just Kickin' It. If it were me, I'd want to close with everyone on their feet dancing and gettin' it. Start with something like "Livin in Vain" Understanding should be towards the middle, so they can slow it down a little bit and rest and then end with a banger like Just Kickin' It.
Randy Bagley Ok.
Renard Diggs ...
I agree with you on that.
Randy Bagley you would make a good manager
Kandi was 100% right. You start with a high energy song to draw the crowd in. You gotta set the tone. But truth be told Kandi has toured more than the other girls so she may have a different outlook. Beyoncé starts her concerts with Crazy in Love and ends with Halo for a reason.
I was thinking the same exact thing!
But if you think about it, Xscape doesn't have to many up tempo songs to choose from. What they should've started with is Love on my mind. Throw Just Kickin It somewhere in the middle. The last concert I saw Janet Jackson, she started with Pleasure Principle.
@@mikelenbody9691 they should always be ending with who can I run to. That’s their best song and people will be literally begging for it by the end.
@@kylesummers2462 No. Understanding should always be the finale.
I disagree. Think about it, Just Kickin It is the song that almost everybody came to hear, so if they did that song first, there wouldn't be much else to look forward to for the rest of the show. Just Kickin It at the end would have took the show out with a bang
Kandi was always smart and prepared. Come through with the college-ruled.
I agree, end it with "Just Kickin' It". I love leaving a concert with the biggest song to close it out with. It's a great feeling.
If you haven't been out in a while, you should start with the first song you came out with. A ballad at the beginning is stupid.
I agree with that as well, "Just Kickin It" had such a "mass appeal" and it was so received, plus Xscape can sing!! so they wouldn't have a problem keeping the crowd on their feet. Of course this is where a good live performance really comes into place.
With that being said, " I'm Team Tocha" on that..😉
Just kicking it should be last , they had a ton of uptempo songs to start off the show , never start with a slow song either. Get the crowd on their feet at the beginning and leave on their feet at the end...and that will be a great show..
Yeh me too. Original unsure seeing each other’s point. On 1 hand u need crowd hyped to start with and end every1 swaying listening to amazing talented vocals more at end on ballads. On other hand u want go out with a bang to their biggest hit, have progression to the show. Build up anticipation for when that song will be sung. Then again the crowd has favourites. But altogether agree with latocha it should be at the end
Groups like this need to hire a good objective music director to make the decisions, taking it out of the group's hands. Petty fights can ruin them before they ever hit the road.
Tocha thought she was in charge like the old days. She quickly learned the hard way that they are all adults, and she can no longer bully them into doing what she wants. I love that for them.
Shut up
I actually agree with Kandi. They should open with Just Kickin It because that is the song that gets the audience hyped. Plus they got so many hits. My Little Secret, Arms Of The One, Do You Want To, Feel So Good, Who Can I Run To and Understanding will def keep the audience engaged to the very end.
I think they should start with Love on my mind.
Tocha's adlib during Just Kickin it. Her voice is amazing
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"Kandi wit her paper again" This explains why she's a mogul. This song should be first, because Kandi may be out of breathe by the end of the show.
Janice Quinn right? Kandi has been the most successful out of all of them. They should be taking her advice...
Janice Quinn ...damn..lol
Janice Quinn 😂😂😂
That BET Awards performance told me that. Kandi was winded after hitting that whistle note in Understanding.
Jonny MIA she's been the most successful in writing. Not preforming. That doesn't mean that you know how to put a show together.
Bey starts with Crazy in Love all the time. You should start with something exciting. They should start with just kickin it. Grab the energy from the beginning
not entirely true only when shes doing tv performances or something like that. i know this comment is old, but i just seen it hahah watching from 2020
Nope, they were right, The Beyoncé Experience, her 2nd solo tour, she began with “Crazy In Love” and ended with “Irreplaceable.” On her last solo tour, The Formation Tour, she began with “Formation” and ended with “Halo.”
@@redzoom7857 homecoming started with crazy in love and ended with a slowed version of Love On Top
Difference is Bey has many iconic songs that could be her signature one
Formation
Crazy in love
Halo
Single Ladies
Ect
Exscape has hits but not on the signature level
@@purrr7519 I agree but she's almost exclusively opened every show with CIL in her career
I agree, cause after just kickn it never know the fans energy after
agreed...Just Kickin' It takes the show out on a high note. They should build as the show goes along. At the end of the show you need a banger to close it out on a high note!! I agree with Tocha on this one.
Theresa McIntosh Exactly going to lose steam
Theresa McIntosh why not start with the song tonight
Toscha just disagreeing because kandi came up with the idea childish I guess something's will never change smh
Stay a nerd Kandi! You making more money than your group member's🙌💪👏
Tiny got the most money and the scott sisters have a few million in the bank..
TMarie That's Me Kandi has like almost 10 times the amount of money that tiny has...
I think Kandi compromised a little. They did perform Understanding last but stuck with Feels So Good. Just kicking it was second to last after Understanding.
Scott D And you know this how? lol. Are you their accountant? Tiny too had writing credits on many popular songs. Just because you don’t see her business ventures does not mean you can assume!
Kassy_1234 Are you Tiny’s accountant??
Kandi is right! Im going to their concert I rather hear Just Kickin It in the beginning so I can get hype. Shes the smartest person as far as business is concerned so they need to just listen to her and get their Egos out the way
It’s not about Kandi wanting to start with a song that she leads in, because Kandi sings lead on both “Feels So Good”, and “Just Kickin’ it” .. also i can kind see where Kandi is going. Ending it with “Understanding” is perfect because it’s a song that will show that all ladies can sing their asses off!
When I've been to concerts the artist usually ended the concert with their most popular song.
C Ali SWV biggest and number 1 hit was Weak...they always close the show with Weak
That's so true
Well hopefully an artist has more than one hit and they can start and finish with one
Nah SWV close with "anything"
Yep. Bell Biv Davoe ended their show with Poison
Beyonce use to start her set-list with Crazy In Love
Mary J. sometimes starts her shows off with All Night Long
Janet starts her shows off with All For You
Start off with a Hit to gain that momentum then end with a hit!
Depends on the show. I saw Janet Jackson in concert and she actually started with The Pleasure Principle.
I don’t agree with tosha b/c 1 you want to grasp the audience attention from the start that’s how you get good reviews cause xscape doesn’t really have that many upbeat songs so if they save just kicking for the end most people would of already left from being bored and the other people will be commenting saying it was dead until the end but if you start off with the most live song everybody will be up on their feet from the start and then they just have to kill the rest of the performance to keep them on their feet
I agree. In this day and time most people have shirt attention spans, and their audience is super grown so a lot if them not staying all the way to the end because they'll be thinking how to avoid the heavy traffic when the concert is over.
So are you saying that understanding wouldn't grab the audience attention. That song is a banga too. Start from soft tones tracks leading up to the fast pace tracks.
You open a show with one of your biggest hits and end with another hit to get the crowd filled with emotions.
This is what Ronnie meant by song placement lol. You are supposed to end a show with your signature song.
I'm someone that always leaves concerts a little early to avoid traffic so I kinda agree with kandi in putting just kickin it first
Start with who can i run to... I love the mystique in how it starts... I can hear the track starting... Crowd screaming waiting for them to come on the stage.. Some smoke.. That "ahhhhh" every body freaks out.. It would be a great moment.. Tie it in with that jcole a bit.. Yass
Yessss you took into that moment
Kandy is that good friend but is always irritating you
Agreed
She’s a mogul tho... homegirl knows her stuff
Whats funny is Tocha hated so bad and they recently did Kandi's order for the Soultrain awards...lol
EXACTLY!!!!
Yes! You open with an upbeat hit to get it started and end with a power ballad hit!! This is a known formula because it’s effective!
I agree with Kandi.....start with a banger to get the crowd alive.
Kandi won this battle. Their sets usually start with Just kicking it or do your thang/feel so good and always end with understanding.
Kandi was right after all. Fast forward to 2022, soul train it was amazing doing it like that!!!
You go to concert with excitement of hearing person’s/group’s biggest hits. So to hear one of their biggest hits out the gate gets me pumped - nostalgia kicks in, I am hyped up, then end with another of the biggest hits. I personally hate when they end with a huge hit because I have been waiting for it too long at that point and am actually LESS excited.
💯
Kandi is right. Hit with the energy out the gate, close on a slower more sentimental note. If you take Beyonce's shows for instance she always leads with CIL and ends with a slower anthem that was also a huge hit (Halo or Irreplaceable). She even did her Superbowl set with this format.
Understanding is a slow song but it still gives Just Kickin It a run for their most iconic single and the accapella ending of that song makes it perfect for the audience to single along with them at the close of the show.
LOVE ON MY MIND!! That should always be the start
Xscape is like the female Jodeci.
kandi was like i know tiny was gonna agree with me lol... thank you
They should have started with, " i got love on my mind"
I agree, with dance moves and high energy that would be great to start off with.
No that's a filler song,
I’m not sure if I agree with Kandi - however when I went to see Toni Braxton last year she did Un-Break My Heart first and ended with He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me 🤷🏽♂️
Mo To well that’s why I said “I’m not sure I agree with Kandi”! My point was UnBreak My Heart is Toni’s biggest song! Doesn’t matter how big she was she opened with her signature.
I went to the tour and it ended with Understanding and it was better just saying ‼️ kandi did it right! They came out lit!
Just kickin it is the perfect opening song.
I don't think Just Kickin should have been at the end. If that's the signature song why make people wait til the end of the show to hear it? You start off with a bang and work everything else in when you got the people locked in.
Kandi wants to be the boss so bad!! I can understand why they wouldn't get along! its her way or no way!
RIGHT.. She want's to exert her power... Girl you are a writer not a star..
Beauty in Bama no Tasha want to be the boss
@@xayvionfeatherson3788 Ya mama is too now what? DUMMY
I didn't see that here, she has a right to make suggestions she was actually very calm and civil in trying to explain her reasoning. If anything the Scott sisters dismissive attitudes for her ideas seen here could have been a potential catalyst for drama.
I couldn’t deal with her
I think it would be a big mistake to save your biggest song last, most people are leaving towards the end and some are already gone
Jennifer Frank not if the concert is bomb
msjones2831 took the words right out of my mouth!
And people don't want to wait all night for that song they really know
Don't you think people would stick around, waiting for that song?
Have you guys even been to a concert? LOL artists always end with their biggest hit.
If Kandi told me to jump I would say how high she stays knowing what she is doing
Exactly she been in the game since double Dutch and monkey bars 💯💪🏾 the most successful one out the group and took tiny with her 💯💯💪🏾 Latasha have several seats💯💯💯💯💯
Looks like I'm gonna be grabbing my snacks this Sunday night. The premier of RHOA and Xscape show coming! 👏 👏 🍕🍟🍷🍪🍩
C Ali Me too and I can’t freakin wait!!!🍸😜
I agree with Tosha do kickin it last. It's just like I went to a mint condition concert years ago and the very last song they did was pretty brown eyes because I was one of their biggest hits that's the song we all love and that was a great song to go out happy to
At first I agreed with Tocha but now I think Kandi was right. No matter what you sing people will be tired at the end so it makes all the sense to harness the energy at the beginning with a big hit
just kick it should not be first if its the fans favorite.
I love Tiny’s voice!!!
The first song played sets the tone for the concert. If B starts with crazy in love, start with your biggest hit... people are tired towards the end
Ugh nope, who can I run to is your signature song 👏🏾
kandi's shady look when those sisters sing-those Tocha & her sister can SANG!!
That's how they did 2022....ladies of soul. Woop woop!
I agree with Tasha and Kandi! Tasha is right because you need to end on a big note. Kandi is correct in saying that you should start with a hype song.
And in 2023 they started off the showing the soul train wards the way Kandi suggested in this video and it was perfect
The formula has always been to start and end with hits
In this instance Tosha is right because Xscape don't have many up tempos as is. So ending with not only their biggest hit but a mid up tempo was the right thing to do.
Paper Back Kandi 😂
Aaron S Notebook Paper Kandi🌸😁
There she go, Kandi wants 2 be in control
Just kickin it "should be the 1st song to sing in there concert and a slow song should be last..👍🏾👍🏾🙌🏽👌🏽
Damn right! A slow song with cell phones up in the air to wave side to side as the arena lights up.
I think Kandi was right ! Beyoncé starts with crazy in love and end with halo !!
Kandi wants to start with that song because it's prolly hard for her to stay in that tone these days... So by the end of the show when she hella winded she can just fade to the back
LolaBunnay I agree. I actually think they need to find a different note/key for her to sing that in. That's the only song since they have been back performing that she hasn't sounded great in.
Omg why don’t anyone else notice that she’s not the best singer and needs help.
Tia cooper Probably because all of them can sing lead. Not to mention that BET performance they sounded out of breath doing Just Kickin' It at the end. Lastly, we're trying to enjoy them being together again for however long this lasts. We been waiting for like 20 years.
Tia cooper I just went and watched the BET performance. Kandi was winded during Just Kickin' It.
@@TiaChea that is why Tocha was a threat because she's the best singer in the group at the time. Kandi was the second best singer in the group, I thought back in the days. I thought that Tocha should of sang lead at the time. Kandi is more successful then they are so you can't blame her for being herself in her work and being around the girls after it ended badly, she is more aware of what changes have occurred in their growth apart. Now they are older Kandi is the same in Tocha eyes, she doesn't like people disagreeing with her in her discisions. In Kandi eyes Tocha hasn't changed because she always have to be the one that disagrees with something in her planning. It is obvious that Tocha may feel belittled by Kandi being younger than her bossing, when she disagrees with kandi
Oh Kandi. Sigh.::..
I loved da show!!! Living legends
Well said
Loving this
They should have started the show with the intro for "all about me" from the traces of my lipstick album that would have gotten fans on their feet
True true! But they got a bunch of good songs. Start with Who can I run To? End it with just kick it
Kandi looks uninterested.
That's her normal look she always looks like that.. She wasn't looking like that when Kim jacked her money
OMG they sound so good when there in a relaxed atmosphere
sexy912
Yes
Nice to see them
Yall in these comments hating on kandi but why?? She has an idea for the show ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT AND YALL MAKE STUFF SO NEGATIVE...😐
Damarion Farrie exactly that's why Kandi rich.. The rest tried it without Kandi and it flocked.. I smell hating
Damarion Farrie why do you feel people are hating on Kandi? Because their saying how they feel?... okay???
Liane Windham lol you are so late this comment was two weeks ago get you some rest....
Great group excellent music, best wishes always. South still hold.
I agree with Tasha, when I go to a concert I wanna walk away with the biggest and most memorable song as I leave the show.
These 4 women are saving my life.
In the end 💯
i am sitting here bopping in 2017 like it's 1993 again lol.
Love on my mind then feel so good
This is going to be so good, lol
Just Kickin It is yall HIT. I agree it should be at the end
Do you want people to fall asleep right away?
I mean, after Just Kickin It, everything else would be slow right?! I mean start with Livin in Vain, for the middle Who Can I Run to or Understanding and then end with My Little Secret and then Just Kickin It. It sends the show off on a high note.
@@randybagley9456 but who’s gonna have the energy after a long concert? No matter what they sing the energy wouldn’t be there at the end
Kandi's always a nerd...That's why she's the most successful. 👍🏾
I love these ladies
I understood both perspectives.
When I think of Xscape I think of Understanding.....
Same
I never heard this song and I liked them back n the day
Kandi thinks she is better than the other cast members. These days she thinks she is a superstar.. I believe her little fans from Real Housewives Of Atlanta, are swelling her head. I can't bear her anymore. Escape, please get rid of her.
Team Kandi always, but Tocha was right here lol
Yes your right Tarsha ! ! , just kicking should be at the end that’s just common sense
The very sad and frightening truth is that "war gives birth to peace".
id like the idea. i wanna by hyped right from the beginning. plus understanding to me was just as big and id see myself leaving the show still humming that.
Listen to Kandi she knows what she's doing.
Looking back I understand where both is coming from .
I agree with Tasha! You should never start your show off with your biggest hit. Huge mistake! The audience engery would probably be dead after that song.
Whitney Fan47 so true NWA messed up during they Reunion by starting off with one of the biggest hits
Exactly!! It's your signature song, just makes good sense to close with it and send the show out on a high note.
y'all is hater's on kadi too much Tasha think she the lead of the group but she not y'all needs to get on somewhere y'all want kandi out the group Tamika keep the comments to your self
Beyonce usually starts her tour with crazy with in love , i agree i think kicking it a song that gets everyone hype
@@benten9329 but beyonce has equally big hits so she can do that. When you only have three albums with few hits, it's hard to do that. Bet has six albums with so many hit records that she can start or end with even her worst song and everyone would still enjoy it.
In my opinion, I believe that xscape should've opened with tonight or let me know and end3d with just kickin it or can't hang (as a thank you encore). Nevertheless, they should've had a planned out meeting about all of this and picked a better way instead of letting their personalities bump each other.
For a successful show start up tempo put the mid-slow tempo songs and ballads in the middle and finish up tempo in that order
I agree they need to start with a hit and end with a hit! They need to ensure people have to be on their feet from the beginning to end. Beyoncé does a good job with this. She’ll open with crazy in love and end with single ladies or Halo (some times)
ok, if they end with kicking it what song are they going to start with to have everyone be like "yassssss now this is is Xscape!" and not feel like they wasted money and time
She was jealous of Kandi, and she still is
i agree it should be last
They still got it
Understanding and am I dreaming is the shyt... just kicking it should be in the middle
But it worked and that’s how they start with the uptempo songs first all tour
