My take on the plot: we have a Performer, loved and adulated by hordes of fans who, to his eyes, all look the same. Even while performing, the Performer is thinking of when he'll finally be able to relax, and in his (drug induced?) "thought bubble" (0:17) he sees himself back at his mansion/hotel room/special place, with his golden make-up off, relaxing and being served by his Friendly Helper. In fact, his ability to be creative only comes when he's back in his place, away from his fans, as represented by the palm trees growing out of his toes at 0:23 (notice also the choice of color, green representing relaxation, nature and creativity). However, initially unbeknownst to the Performer, the Friendly Helper is actually an empty vessel (hence the blank stare on the Friendly Manager from 0:19 on), an avatar and a servant to the Evil Manager. The Evil Manager, through some arcane technological Object, can initially keep and eye on the Performer, and then even control him in some measure. By the way, a few words on the Object: we can see at 0:27 that the fan (ha) blades are actually smaller versions of the Friendly Helper, proving that the latter is controlled by the Manager. Also - and this is the crux of the video -, the Object is slightly larger than a cellphone, and the fan on top reminds me of both some sort of a camera and an antenna: by being able to control the Performer even when and where he can be "himself", the Manager is robbing him of his capacity to feel free, and ultimately to create. Not only that, but he is able, if he so chooses, to broadcast what he sees to the whole world Once the Object has been tested and has been proven to work - even if we are not shown that phase - the Manager is able to confront the Performer with it: at 0:48, the Manager not only introduces the Object to the Performer (who, being in public, has put his golden make-up persona back on), but he plants the Object in a bowl of green grass, thus establishing that the Performer is being seen and controlled even when he is in whole special place, and that is freedom to create from there on will be limited (hence the bowl) and subordinate to his accepting to be observed for the whole world to see. The Performer also sees the Friendly Helper as the fans on the Object: he had been watched and controlled far longer than he thought he had, and the only real friend he thought he had left is actually a counterfeit and a spy. The Performer, however, is an entranced by the Object and the fame he would get from "selling out" as he is afraid of doing so and losing his indipendence. In the end, he decides to agree to the Manager's deal, even having decided that the benefits of doing so outweight the costs. From this point on, the situation changes dramatically. The Helper is kicked out, but now he finds himself, albeit uneasily, among three second-tier Managers or Business Insiders who are regulating the public appearances and creative endeavours of the Performer (around 1:00). The black guy is nurturing a new creation by the Performer before releasing it, even though it is a twisted and sad thing in a bowl. Notice how these four guys can now access what the Performer is doing as well, as another Object in the bowl is sitting in the center of the room. The guys have finally settled on a way to market the Performer to a younger audience, so the pink, cartoony guy on the right - whom I take to be a Representative from some entertainment company for kids and adolescents, hence the appearence. Let's say Disney - sends out a message: the Performer is now doing stuff for kids, keep an eye on him! Notice how his message emanates not from his feet, like the palm trees at 0:17, or from his mouth - the Perfomer is singing in the beginning, and in this context "music from the feet" may mean "danceable" music -, but straight from the Representative's belly: this stuff has been laboured over, it has been digested, deconstructed and put together again - or maybe it's just shit. The message, as any rate, reaches the audience it is intended for, and as the Objects are now larger, so is the audience the Performer can now reach. The Evil Manager, of course, has so much control over the Performer he doesn't even need to hide it anymore: the artist has sold his soul to the majors, so to speak, so it goes without saying that he has overbearing managers behind him. Fast-forward a few years, and the situation has become even worse for the poor Performer. We can see that there time has passed from the previous scene, by the way, because the Evil Manager has lost an eye (1:15): in the long run, having complete say on what somebody else can do or say will corrupt you and make you less able to see the situation - or even yourself - clearly. He might be aging as well, losing eyesight being one of the first signs of aging. If that's the case, a long-ass time has passed since the beginning of the video. Another sign of the passing of time is the fact that hair on the Performer's head has thinned dramatically since the beginning (1:27). At any rate, we are now witnessing the fall of the Performer. His contractual obligations keep him locked in his studio, represented by the glass capsule at 1:20. Not only that, his fame and status - the barriers surrounding the studio - keep him separated from the rest of the world: he cannot leave, nor can other people get close enough to provide comfort. (Notice how at the beginning of the video there were no barriers around him, his talent and art being the only things "elevating" him from the masses.) He is still surrounded by fans, who look the same as they did at the beginning, except they're way more manic. These dudes don't even like the Performer's new stuff, but only request and repeat his first big hit from back when he was a promising young star. In the end, the Evil Manager pulls the plug on the Performer, because he is not able to produce anything people like anymore, and also because, hey, that will make the news for weeks, and the major will sell so many records. A slightly different reading may have it that the Evil Manager never actually existed, but was only a metaphor for the waves of history at large. Allow me to explain. A number of signs point to the fact that the Performer had his big breakthrough in the later part of the Seventies. "We Will Rock You" came out in 1977. The Performer coming onstage carried by an elephant, his golden make-up, the palm trees, possibly even the green bubble he lives in in his head (marijuana?) make me think of an ethnic musician. World Music starting getting big in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. If this all holds, the Performer would have been introduced to social-network technology the way we have it thirty years in his career. In fact, when he's presented with the Object at 0:47, the Performer already looks pretty disheveled, he's shaking. More importantly, his hair has already started to thin. If that is the case, we're seeing a guy whvo used to be big try to come back on the scene through social media a good number of years after his prime. He strikes a deal with Disney, gets a few social-media managers, among them his Friendly Helper (who in this scenario actually stuck with him throughout the years and is a good guy), to revamp his career. However, his plan backfires rapidly: he cannot keep up with the same working rhythms, he's lost the magic touch and his fans only want to hear the old tunes. In the end he has a heart attack in the studio he's locked himself in, whether due to overworking or overdosing on drugs, or possibly he just goes mad. In the end, it's his hubris and blindness (the one-eyed Manager) that end him for good. Well, this was longer than I thought it would be.

How I got the story: The guy on the elephant performs his singing and then he coughes up the bacillus where tiny creatures live their life. The alien sees this as a threat and kidnaps the singer. Then he shows him the spinning wheel of stress or death (as I get it) to make him realise what he has done. The blinkning person in the waiting room at the hospital shows what looking at that wheel could result in. For an unknown reason the insides of the teddy pig fly out the belly and out a door to a world with a lot of spinning wheels, with a big eye looking wheel in the middles pinning fast, telling how dangerous the alien is! He has put the singer into a chamber, ready to electrocute him for what he did. There is a small audience to witness his death. They clap "We will rock you" in eagerness and can't wait to see him get electrocuted, and the claps going faster and faster make the singer panic, realising what singing "We will rock you" the way he did means. The Alien puls the lever and he gets electrocuted.
