Nice that Matt Smith mentioned Delia Derbyshire - she still wasn't named in the credits even though Ron Grainger wanted her to have as much credit for the theme tune as he did.
Mega are you still here after 11 yearsđđđ
You know when a theme has done it's job when just listening to it gives you chills, especially live - I feel proud to be a Doctor Who fan :)
Years 11. Wolf đ hello
SĂ
I'm not even a Whovian and I love the theme.
â@@AngelusNielsonyou haven't watched doctor who?
@@itsprobablyrobin 60 years of episodes is a bit daunting to get into, but I have seen an episode or two.
All respect to Delia Derbyshire. An unsung heroine of all things wonderful in electronics. When she played the original Dr Who theme to Ron Grainer, he said "did I write that?" She said "well part of it".
very humble and now it is probably one of the most recognized pieces of music
Hardly unsung these days, though. She was mentioned right up there with the composer in this clip.
@@videowilliams That's true - I worked at the BBC in the 70s & early 80s, visited Maida Vale Studios several times and went past the door which would have led to the Radiophonics Workshop. Alas locked up and seemingly deserted.
They spared no expense in the music department during 11's run. This is the most majestic and energetic versions of Doctor Who's theme by far, and I LOVE IT! It has been my ringtone ever since "The Eleventh Hour" đ
A survey carried out in 2012 showed that the two most recognized tunes in the UK were the Dr Who theme tune and the Thunderbirds march.
and now i have to search for the thunderbirds march. USA here
I still get chills when I hear the 2010 version. Definitely by far my favorite reincarnation of the best theme ever.
Televisions ultrilism of themes
[manly tears]
That was beautiful
***** I like hugs, hugs are good
[hugs]
+lunablancaist but... but... what about bowties? T_T
***** True, but bowties are cool too.
***** NYEH HEH HEH!
***** Eh.. well... I like bowties better.
Only in this small island could such a sound be created
Admit it you only came to hear the awesome part that gives you GOOSEBUMPS !!! 1:30
how'd you know?
millet delos santos It's called the middle eight
What the eff?! My wifi went low bat at 1:29 !
millet delos santos true
millet delos santos as a dutch kid, I was wondereing since I was 5 where that part of the sonf came from, than I Discovery Doctor Who when I was 12 (Iâm now 13) and I finaly knew where it came from
Not sure why everyone dislikes the Middle 8. It's the best part of the theme, aside from the DO WE OOOOO
I'm not sure either, I like it a lot.
Adam Schwartz What is the Middle 8 exactly?
Jess Caron Google it, it's too difficult for me to explain.
I always called it the "swashbuckling" section... Does that make sense?
Adam Schwartz I think I understand that.
I am really sad there wasn't a Dalek
Gaming 4 Life(Tylerman) Eggs....
Eliphas Leary Stir...
Nate...
Wot, with all them stairs!
Gaming 4 Life(Tylerman) I think itâs because thereâs only a few people they use, who change outfits through the evening
That was probably one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard.
Try the 8th doctor's theme!
When you turn a phone box into the most iconic tv mode of transport ever
Truly the greatest show on television. Welcome to the family, Peter Capaldi!!!
I was only 8 when this happened. Now I'm 21 when the 10th anniversary of this version came out it was my 18th year living.
I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE THIS!!!!
0:58 The Goosebumps start here.
I thought I was the only one XD
Hang on tight! This is going to be a bumpy ride!
David Tenant just crashes the party.
even almost 60 years later this is still one of the most magical opening themes ever
I love Ben Foster conducting this. He's so handsome up there, and you can tell 100% he enjoys and LOVES what he does. He's completely animated, his expressions show he's very passionate about the songs he's working out, and it's just a joy to watch him. :) And I haven't even begun to mention the handsome Matt Smith yet! ;)
That ROAR from the audience at the end!!!
Tries not to cry wishing I had been there.
I actually went to a smaller version in Birmingham with Matt Smith and it was the amazing. I will never forget it.
I, my friend, need to go to one of these because these are indeed cool.
Ah your profile pic is of one of my least fav doctors
Ewan Summerville that's awesome, who's your favorite Doctor?
+Kim Irwin Omg the way you said that and your profile pic together in dying đ
Doctor who is just so epic. I honestly don't understand how alot of people don't watch it
Maybe people think that thereâs too many British people in it and not that much Americans. I might be wrong, but feel free to let me know. But still, Iâm a huge fan of this show, too.
@@G.S.Productions That's not a good reason.
@@imfsresidentotaku9699 I know, right?! Whoever said that needs to get themselves punched in the taint, for sure. And plus, itâs a BBC show!! BBC stands for the British Broadcasting Company. People, especially internet trolls, need to get it through their dumb domes of theirâs. Itâs driving me nuts!
@@G.S.Productions I don't think that's quite the reason... We Americans love British television. It's infinitely better than our own.
This would be so cool to hear live wish i was at something like this
this gives me chills everytime!
I KNOW :)
this is the best theme tune, also I can't get it out my head
Now that's what I call music.
Now that's what I call Timey-Wimey music
Daniel Russell couldnât agree more
DAMN STRAIGHT!
SĂ
This is a giant slice of epic pie, with a sprinkling of slightly nerdy costumes, but they still do the trick!
This theme makes me cry. I grew up on Doctor Who thanks to my dad .... he passed away almost 4 years ago. He used to be a Met Police Officer in the 70s and 80s and was a driving instructor at Hendon. One year the officer's children were invited to Hendon to meet Tom Baker. I still have the signed picture of him x
all those kids in the audience and not one of them scared by all the aliensâŠbecause they can see the TARDIS
when Murray Gold updated this he gave it guts, that's why it's so good
Best live recreation of the Doctor Who theme ever!!!
This should be great Britain national anthem
i love it how the composer turns around at 0:17
đ
Siiiiiiiick
Also Matt Smith best doctor
Got to disagree. David Tennant for me and especially with Rose
Donna is so much better!
Andrija Nikacevic
I loved Donna's character but the doctor and rose relationship is wonderful
David tennant :D
Gggmanlives nope,nope,nope David tenant ftw
I had a massive grin on my face all the way through this. BBC, I love you.
Always gives me tingles. Epic theme song! And I miss you Eleven, so much!!
I listen this in loop for 1 Hours i love doctor who matt Smith karen gillan and arthur darvill đđđ
As a kid i used to watch Dr Who from behind the sofa as soon as the yetis came on , once off the screen I'd sit on the sofa .
I love the change in key in the full version.
I'm not even a big Doctor Who fan but this rendition made my spine tingle. Amazing.
Why have i tears running down my face !!!!!!! BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!
Out of all the theme tunes since 2005 to now, I think this one has been the best. Or maybe David Tennant's final theme.
I agree- Tennant and Smith are my personal favourites, but I think all three Doctors since the revival have had their qualities
"Do you mind not farting when I'm saving the world?"
Yeah... wasn't childish at all back then...
Using one contextless line to justify a sarcastic comment about how âchildishâ the show was?
Yeah⊠not dishonest at allâŠ
I've grown up and grown old loving Dr Who. This theme tune is timeless and awesome.
Well I cried how about you guys?
Lol I get it
Remember crying? Nevermind
Why can't we get an official release of the concert recording? And no, that chopped-up version on the Christmas Carol DVD doesn't count.
This is by far the best version, the drumfill at 1:27 is so incredibly epic...
Well would you look at that, I'm crying.
IT'S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL
The daleks have a special song during the concert, more at the beginning, so they put other doctor's ennemies in the final song. It's more complicated to make move a dalek too so it's normal.
But remember this is not the whole concert , you should watch it, i just did, this is awesome.
(sorry for bad english )
1:30 my favourite part
I took my ten year old twins to this-they were huge Dr Who fans but I wasn't particularly. What a treat! The one who enjoyed it them most though seemed to be conductor Ben Foster who never stopped smiling, laughing and dancing around the entire performance.
I am a 63 year old Canadian male....and the little boy in me is just smiling away at this.
Let's just say you're a 63-year young boy from Canada enjoying fond memories of nice things.
I hope we go back to its former glory with the next incarnation
damn that gave me chills like no other
best show ever ! best music ever ! best everything ever !!!
loved the Christmas episode!
This is so pleasantly emotional to me
Since you asked, NO, you're not the only one who sings along to the Doctor Who theme.
Seriously, i hear this once and im humming it all dam day, its bloody brilliant!
I love the new version. Dramatic, Operatic and majestic. :) And in the same time a good nod to Ron Grainers original:)
If I were there, I would have been fangirling so hard.
Oh man it must be amazing to hear the theme song live like that!
Over 50 years of pure brilliance all came back to me....
I mean I wasnt alive for most of it but I've seen it all and really made my day :'D
Legendary. The 10th and 11th Doctors were the best. â€ïž
That was freaking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get goosebumps EVERY time!
An amazing piece of music that deserves this full orchestral version. Listened to it five times before this comment and probably a lot more afterwards. LOVED IT.
Take me to England! Take me to the Doctor!
I need to go to this with my friends because this is so awesome!!! :) ;)
Sounds so much more epic like this!
Awesome Cyberman, moves like the one in the show!
And that's how they should have opened the 2012 London Games :) CYBERMEN EVERYWHERE!!! :D
I agree, although they should've had Tennant appear as well considering in Doctor Who he was the one who carried the torch at the Olypmics after the other guy fell
Wait but the doctor was already at it, the ninth Rowan Atkinson in all his glory
A tip : you can watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Cason Jimmy Definitely, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :D

My favorite part of the show!
I miss Doctor Who
who else waited for Daleks? xDD
Thomas S. YES THEY SO SHOULD OF HAD THAT
No ramps probably. Darn!
They actually were there, they just waited for their symphony to appear
I get goosebumps every time I listen to this
I loved it. A friend invited me. I screamed while Matt was talking so I don't think they put that night on air :( Oh well!! MEMORIES
i watched the whole prom on the bbc's i-player, and wow it was good, i wish i'd been there it must have been totally mind blowing for the kids!!
EPIC! Best theme. Song ever!
One of the most underrated sci-fi show of all times!
Gives me goosebumps!
@retrocommercials Yeah. The middle eight needs to be added to the TV theme. I also love the addition of the chorus in this performance.
Nothing but chills, absolutely fantastic!
this is just amazing!!! I would have loved to be there
wow........ this give me major chills! love this theme song!
Quarentena e eu aqui assistindo a abertura da melhor serie do mundo â€â€â€â€â€. Ansiosa para a prĂłxima temporada
â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
How could you not like the show when it has such epic music ?!
Oh the energy, oh the love, oh the beauty! Doctor Who is gorgeous! A wonderful show and the theme tune completes it! xx
Holy crap. I just got goosebumps.
They do a pretty good job. :)
Awesome , just brilliant work so cool music !!!!!! ;) ;) :) :)
somehow this reminds me of Eccleston. ;( i miss him already!
What do you mean already?
It's been ten years??
Rhovic Cinco He was absolutely...
FANTASTIC
Yea i miss him too. He was great and could express so many emotions with only a gaze! The way he sometimes looked at Rose gave me chills because you could see the love the Doctor had for her... Truly a fantastic actor.
Rhovic Cinco yep. I miss him too. :-(
Sounds great! I have River saying "Hello Sweetie" whenever I get any kind of message :D
Great theme composed by Ron Grainer. Oh Karen Gillan, so smokin' hot..
The best Theme Tune in the Galaxy.
