I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this CZcams name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon!

Hyunjin just adds this slight bit of extra bounce and flare to his moves that my eyes go right to him when I watch any of their dances.
How Hyunjin drop at the end crossing his legs, he's the only that does that, every cover I saw of this choreo nobody managed to do it. So skilled.
I think that’s because his moves during that part is different from the others

@@firasyam6282 not to be that person but they were talking about the covers not the members and that was a compliment to hyunjin no need to compare to other members.. You can think it but don't comment it or at least not under hyunjin's compliment and I see this with the other members as well can we just compliment them without comparing and I say this with all respect I am not fighting.

Changbin's talk/rap part with Felix and Chris as audience roles in the beginning for about 4-5 seconds is re-enacting how traditional sorigkun (소리꾼) performs with narration/rap (as well as gesturing with a fan which we see Changbin use in MV is a traditional instrument of choice for the profession), a performance of storytelling and that's the reason why it sounds bit "off" when we're expecting a modern rap flow.
I was actually watching leeknow's fancames to learn the choreo and like seriously his every moment is so detailed & well executed he made it look so easy without trying much.

The "ptui ptui" part reminds me of the old cartoons and tv/films where a strong man would spit on his hands before lifting a massive barbell. I feel like it is almost a "we do the heavy lifting/hard work...you need to just sit back and watch what we do."
Changbin’s “off” talk-rap part @ 0:28 is actually in the style of traditional korean music, pansori, i believe
for those who don’t know korean history/culture, i can see how ppl can miss a lot in thunderous and not catch all the cool elements~

I always get surprised by how controlled hyunjin is with his moves like damn they are so clean and well executed. Never disappoints 😌
What I noticed on the second prechorus (Han's part: them bowing but their feet is tapping on beat) was that it's kind like a person who bows out of respect but at same time agitated. I think it's a great contrast of God's Menu choreo that they bowed on the end, because they were presenting a new form and bowing to the customers hoping they'd love the food and service. Here they still bowed to pay respect (idk to their seniors or management i suppose), but can you feel they're itching yo creat more. More noise. More impact.

The quick pause in the middle. I thought you wouldn’t caught the “the thunderous one is coming choreo” glad u had the quick pause. And i learned a new term today, the “biting” that was a good catch. Heheh. And i also agree with ur interpretation of their ending pose about felix sitting down and the rest are standing up. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

I don't if it's because I watched a lot of Korean dramas but I never thought Changbin was "off" with that flow. As you said he was speak-rapping, it's like news commentary when the speed and tone change with what you are saying. with this it presents itself very comedic, even though he's spitting very serious lyrics. In my view, that whole part feels like he's mocking critics trying to tell him (or stray kids) who they should be or how they should sound like. like a "blah blah blah idgaf" or a "yeah yeah yeah whatever". at least, that is how I interpreted it.

Yeah, I watched Itsandyandjas interpretation of the mv and I believe Changbin is rapping like how the town criers in Joseon dynasty speak which is so cool.

I absolutely LOVE your interpretation on this. The whole DNA 🧬 comparison was something I didn’t think of. It does make sense when Bang Chan comes through like the mRNA single strain, carrying the message (like mRNA-Messenger RNA).
What I found interesting is the 2nd pre-chorus. When I.N starts and Seungmin comes after him, you paused and something was noticed when you did. You have VocalRacha (I.N & Seungmin), DanceRacha (Hyunjin & Felix), and the All-Rounders (Han & Lee Know). So FREAKING talented.
I haven’t seen anybody else touch on this and it’s just been in the back of my mind yelling, waiting for someone else to notice it. Or a lot of people noticed and I’m blind. On the last “sorikkun”, where Hyunjin throws his arms up, it looks like lightning striking! It totally fits with the word “thunderous” because it’s literally when lightning strikes the earth and thunder happens! It’s just GENIUS to me

Oh gosh, people who don't like you pausing in the middle of the video shouldn't be watching or should skip, it's clear they don't care what you think, I bet most don't stay to listen to the reactor comments they make at the end from the video. I love it when reactors pause to talk/comment/explain it's MUCH better than talking over the video or at the end (in my opinion) because I've seen so many who end up forgetting what they were going to say, forgetting to comment on some part they said who commented at the end. I don't understand the need for others to comment on how much you talk or if you don't react according to what they want. I loved this choreo so much. I also hear sonic boom at times, but I didn't connect it to Street Fighter, I just thought it was funny that my brain heard "sonic boom" because the sound thunder makes is literally a sonic boom, the sound that's made when something (lightening) travels faster than the speed of sound. I'm glad someone else heard it too.
What you mentioned about Hans rap part and the DJ mixing angle, I hadn't thought of that! I was seeing it as like him playing the knife game blindfolded, and then with Felix holding his mic, like Han is playing a dangerous game, rapping and killing it, while all the haters can only sulk and criticise. Like he's too busy for their shit.

I just noticed at 6:10 that move looks like kind of mockery (like the whole song), something you would do to someone you're calling a coward or "a chicken" and i really find it funny cuz it feels like they are saying the people judging them are literal cowards since they mostly do it on social media and anonymously. Just my thoughts tho, im not sure 🏃
