- So, our turkeys weren't supposed to be fertile, but they didn't know that! We're pleasantly surprised to add newly hatched turkey poults to our homestead. This has been a fun experience and I'm so happy to share it with you!

Shawn and Janice - the 'real life on a farm' videos are wonderful. Your children are so blessed to get to see this each day because there are so many children and even adults who have never had such an experience. Wonderful teaching tools for all ages! Yes, it is hard and so sad when things don't turn out as expected and there are deaths, but that also is real life. I’m glad the Tom turkeys didn’t get the message that their to broad to get business done! The baby Turkeys are so cute!! I don’t think I’ve seen them up close before! We had to put marbles in the chicks water because they could fall asleep in the water dish and drown when we did it for 4-H! Good luck with your next batch! Was fun seeing them hatch out!

Loved the video! Guys try to watch the ads all the way through or at least let them run while you go off to check email or FB. That's how Janice gets paid is by how many watch the ads or let them run. Also, if you have premium and don't see any ads, no worries she will still get paid as if you watched the ads! This one had quite a few very long ads this time for me. Sometimes there are not so many, some times there are!

I was tired and getting ready to sleep, as it 8 pm here and I have to get up at 4 am, but I couldn't stop watching ! So interesting for me! Watching from the Rhineland in Germany.
My granddaughters enjoyed watching the turkeys hatching. Olivia will be 8 in July and Adalyn will be 6 August 1st
My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter is really enjoying watching the baby turkeys hatching

Janice, this was amazing. I’ve never seen any bird hatch! What fun to watch them come out of the shells. …. Question’s, when you see them pecking to get out why can’t you intervene and help them? After they are out, why do you leave their shells in the hatching thing when there are so many birds in such a small space? How do you know if you have a fertilized egg that will hatch versus an egg you can eat? The only thing I was ever told is that if you crack an egg to fry, and there is blood in it, it’s a fertile egg, never eat it and throw it away.
You two have so much restraint! I would want to help
I live farm animals , even the not so pretty ones as turkeys lol , its a blessing to have them as well to put in the freezer 👏

Please don’t be too sad about losing number 10. That little turkey likely had that medical hatching problem because it had some difficulties you had no chance of fixing. You did amazing to be faithful to the hand turning of the egg.

Turkeys are chatty lil creatures . We have a pet Tom that is 4 years old and a pair thar are 2 years old.. have had to clutch of eggs hatch. Harder for us to raise then chickens very vocal and active. Enjoy ur new adventure.
Hello from California 🌴 I would always ask my grandmother why do all the animals have babies and they WALK right away and people babies don’t do anything they just lay around 🤣 and she said. I DONT KNOW WHY.
