Dance of the Bardo Part-3 | Long-nying Choling Monastery Tsechu

This Bardo dance is performed according to the teachings of Buddha in general and specifically according to the Terton Karma Lingpa’s book of death. The purpose is to remind the impermanence of life to everyone and the need of being vigilant in engaging in positive actions and disengaging in negative actions when we are alive and thus strive to practice dharma.
This mass sacred dance portrays in a way that, Khimdak Palkyi who solely engaged in virtuous actions, and Dikchen Nyalbum who engaged in non-virtuous actions when they were alive are prosecuted in the judiciary system presided by the Lord of the death.
So it depicts that those who mostly engage in positive or virtuous actions when they are alive are invited to the pure realms along with White God and by the five classes of dakinis whereas those who have committed negative actions are imprisoned in the various hell realms.
