A Short Documentary about people of Soom Tea Estate, Darjeeling.
Soom-the Lepcha word for triangle-is a triangular tea garden in the lap of the Greater Himalayas, where Shiva meditates. The estate is surrounded by the Little Rangeet-a mountain river-and three other tea estates.
A Captain J. Jorden was the first planter of Soom in 1860. According to the locals, the first factory at Soom was constructed by Chinese laborers. Afterwards, the British multinational, Williamson Magor, owned the garden for more than a century. The Chamong Group took control of the dying historical estate in 2001 and gave it a new lease of life.

How far is it from Darjeeling ? A very well-made video , I think by a creative team of young people. Congrats! Is there any homestay/ hotel to stay for a few days ?
It will take only 30 minutes to reach from Darjeeling town. But there is no any hotel or homestay.

It's only about 1 st division and soom 1 st division is not soom there are more two divisions 2nd and 3rd division documentary is nice but it is only about 1st division
