I am the kind of Once that is just so in awe of how INCREDIBLY COSMIC this group is. I am seeing them live in June, really good seats and I just know I am going to lose my damn mind. I will be singing and dancing every word and choreo lol
First of all, the fact Jihyo’s mic wasn’t working angers me to no end. She was so professional and even sang louder which shows her talent and skill. But also the choreo is so sensual and playful! I’m glad we finally get to see the whole song! I hope they do a lot more performances of this song live!!!

@@Yetti. Her mic was working in their live performance on Kelly Clarkson, and they all absolutely KILLED it! The camerawork was pretty impressive as well!
She sang so loud that other members mic picked up her voice. I’m so upset 😭

The barking is probably the absolute funniest thing because the girls didn’t think it was barking at the beginning. Dahyun and the rest thought that ONCE were like chanting “dubu” which is tofu in Korean which is one of Dahyun’s nicknames.
I THINK they’ve figured it out and and the girls encourage it. They love their fans. If you watch the behind the scenes, they were worried they’d barely have any fans there and they feel safe when they see Candy Bongs (their light stick) in the crowd.
EDIT* Another fun fact is that they weren’t originally planned to be the closing act but production saw their rehearsal and was so impressed that they moved them to be the closing act!

Well to be fair it WAS "DUBU DUBU DUBU" last year at new york CBS arena. The whole stadium would start doing it and it devolved to barking by the end of the show.
i got emotional by the speech cause they put the two maknaes to do it, i think it says a lot about twice and how much they support each other, especially after jihyo said she was the one who wrote it
Not only was Jihyo's mic not working, her in-ears weren't as well. So you see the left one dangling later as she took it out to be able to hear the music. Several members said their in-ears weren't working correctly as well. Jihyo was quite upset and apologized that she didn't perform better through it and mess up a part of the choreo. I thought she fought through it very professionally and had no need to apologize for something that simply wasn't her fault. I watched the live stream...or tried to. A few minutes before the TWICE performance, the feed got glitchy and it was terrible while they performed. Billboard needs to do better!!!

'moonlight sunrise' dance choreo. is pretty. (from their dance practice behind, i think they did change the ending in last minute before they go to this award, and if you saw 'alcohol-free' stage, they change the ending in 2nd week, i mean, if they don't satisfy in choreo they might keep revise it.)

In a way i'm kinda in love with them winning Breakthrough Award cause in a way I think Twice is doing this in a way other kpop acts couldn't: None of the members are american or fluent in english. Most rely on at least one member that's fluent to make the transition and most times they are boy groups (which tend to sell out much more). But Twice is doing it in their own way, starting with their first english single "The Feels" being entirely what Twice sound has always been, them doing promotions in korean, promoting with their korean singles in their language instead of their english version. They truly deserve this and with them getting sold out dates everywhere i can only wait til they keep growing even more.
Also fun fact, Jihyo wrote this speech and both Tzuyu and Chae were the ones that wanted to do the speech!
jihyo slaying even her mic has a problems, but we can listen her through by others members mic, it s resonance of her vocal❤
1:45 noo onces were cheering up for everyone, just louder for TWICE lol. Even Quinta said it that "Even when you're here for your favorite artists you're supporting everyone" or something like that but i watched the whole show live it was funnier when it wasn't cut

Still recovering from Jihyo's mic not working, she got so taken off guard by it that she forgot some of the choreo and it- OOOOH, I'm fuming just typing this lol, but I'm sure the sound technicians were freaking out 10 times worse backstage 😅
11:48 - if you notice then Jihyo was actually upset there, you should check her expression.
Probably why there's no interview from jihyo's side after the show in their recent Billboard behind the scenes videos. She also apologised to ONCE on bubble. I loved she sang loudly for the last bit and gave her everything despite BB messing this up for her.
Also barking is a new thing ONCE picked up when they did their American tour...can't explain why but it's a sport and twice thing now :)

When jihyo was joking about only 1 once will come to the event out of 100 and they actually got 99 percent of the audience are all onces. TWICE is so humble.
12:12 it's cuz certain parts remained pre-recorded, like the ad-libs. It's the top lines that were live, so that's why you could hear Jihyo in the adlibs and backing vocals but not when she took the top line.
I know she was really upset about it. This was a huge moment for them and she felt like she blew it. 😔 Meanwhile we're all thinking "Damn, God Jihyo's voice is so strong you can hear her even when her mic is off."
The live video feed was also really laggy and froze a lot, so those of us watching live only got to see about half of the performance and had to wait till Billboard uploaded a fixed version overnight.
Jihyo was so frustaded with the mic issue that she messed up the coreo (i really can't see) but she came to bubble to apologize bc she got the coreo wrong bc of the mic issue :( i was so sad. But they killed it.
I think you should watch the kelly clarkson performance because it was so good. The vocals and everything about it

"Twice TV 2023 Billboard Women in Music award BEHIND THE SCENE" was recently released and during their stage practice you could hear Jihyos vocal that we were robbed coz of the mic issue, also apparently that was when it was decided that they do the finale as the staff were amazed when they saw the practice.

we were so pissed that day, her in ear and mic were both faulty + the official livestream itself stopped working asap the performance started.
jihyo was sooo excited and nervous for this stage as seen in behind the scenes on their channel and was so upset and regretful afterwards on bubble because of this issue but promised she'll show better performances in the future even if it wasn't her fault.
I think all of Once is angrier than Jihyo about this performance, I realize the US isn’t used large groups but maybe do a little more research about how Korean award shows handle this, a lot of the camera angles were off the center ( I’m American btw)
Thanks for the awesome reaction! I can't tell you how frustrated I was watching this live and seeing Jihyo struggle, as well as the livestream not working properly. It makes me mad just thinking about it.
But anyway, their Kelly Clarkson interview and performance was really good, you would like it.
I'm so glad you reacted to this! I was there in person, there was no way I was gonna miss such an achievement. To be honest, the venue almost seemed split 50-50 ONCEs and Lana del Rey fans 😂 It's like you said, for them to receive a "Breakthrough" award so deep into their careers, it's interesting. But it was amazing seeing them experience something for the first time, it honestly made me really emotional.
Now when the performance started, in person, you honestly could not tell Jihyo's mic was dead because she was singing for her life up there, she was audible even to the top seats. It was amazing seeing non-fans experience that magic that Twice brings to the stage, they really did us proud. It wasn't till it was over that my friend was like, "was Jihyo's mic a little low?" Later in the evening, Jihyo reached out to fans on Bubble (their fans messaging app) and expressed how disappointed she was. But even then, she lays the blame on no one but herself...she's a perfectionist at heart and it did suck that she couldn't show her best, but really honestly I saw the best of them up there and have no regrets making the trip for this event.
And to think that Twice weren't originally supposed to perform last but the people at Billboard liked their rehearsal so much they made them the big finish 👑

The whole performance was a little infuriating ngl, we didn’t knew they were the last act, we couldn’t see it live cause the live was breaking by the end, the whole thing with Jihyo’s mic and inear… but at the end what matters is that in a way their hard work was recognised and they felt the support from once…
Fun fact they weren’t even going to be the last act, the show runners saw them in rehearsal and liked them so much they decided to make them the last act to perform
Also Jihyo thought there was only going to be a couple or maybe one once in the audience

The barking for twice started during their last tour, and its because of the meme that was spread all over during momo's vlive, onces asking her "If onces can be their dogs" Then onces started acting dogs. Lol, and onces since then barks for TWICE during concerts

They didn't get it sorted for the last sentence or her ad libs unfortunately, they were just from the prerecorded track. They pick and choose which lines are sung live and which lines are from what they recorded in studio
