Drive 5 hours from Michigan to Buffalo: $120 in gas.
    Tickets for lower rows: $300
    Hotel: $330 for three nights
    Parking: $15
Having my fiance with me and having her experience the roar of the crowd: priceless.
Being able to honor the man we consider to be the very definition of Buffalo: priceless, unforgettable, and consider a God status.
When I think of Buffalo I think of one moment and it was cultivated by these three things; Game 5 against the rangers, RJ calling the moment, and the roar of the crowd during the game. Those three things will forever live in my soul. I skipped high school and my dad skipped work. We drove 5 hours to be a part of the party in the plaza. It was by far top 5 greatest moment of my life. I was originally a Red Wings fan, but became a Sabres fan in 05-06 and never looked back. Buffalo is considered my second home. You the fans, and RJ made me feel like this.
My fiance said even when the Wings were good, JLA, and little Caesars arena does not compare to the passion of the Sabres fans. The atmosphere was worth everything last night and I cannot express the gratitude to all Sabres fans of how much I appreciate all of us coming together for this night. We got to celebrate the god of all voices for sports. Thank you so friken much Buffalo for doing this right as well and honor the man so many of us we consider the best part of Buffalo.

I watched RJ call games for almost 30 years. In my lifetime, there has not been anyone better and it's not close. I attended my first (and to date only) NHL game at KeyBank Center in 2017. Ricks voice was so full of character and enthusiasm that I immediately could tell the guy was special. As I grew older and more of a fan of hockey/Sabres it was always Ricks voice I wanted to hear call the game even trying a few times to mute the tv and turn up the radio whenever a tv broadcast on a major network didn’t feature him(damn delay never matched it up correctly). With how many things have gone badly the past decade with the Sabres franchise and the poorly executed 50th anniversary celebrations, I was worried how the organization would pay tribute to Rick Jeanneret but they managed to do a wonderful job with the ceremony. Beautiful night. So glad Buffalo showed up tonight to support RJ. Such a bittersweet moment. Im so happy for him but im going to miss him tremendously. Hopefully they invite him back for the playoff next year, because the way these kids are playing to close out the season, it looks like its going to happen. Love you RJ!

I'm not even from Buffalo and couldn't hold back some damn eye watering.
There will never be another RJ. His calls, distinct booming voice, extreme passion for hockey and for the team, that red face of his when he gets going are all unparalleled. Add to that him being a good guy. How can anyone not love him! Hell, he made me and my kids Sabers fans all by himself.
Much love to you MR. Jeanneret! You're loved by so many people, enjoy your glory. You've earned it so many times over.
RJ has always been and will always be top shelf! Way beyond where mama hides the cookies.
Best wishes to you and your cupcake, always.

I was 1 when the sabres started play. 2 when RJ took over.. From the time I was 6, I used to listen to RJ on the radio and I "Watched" many a Sabres game through his eyes. I no longer live in the area (job has moved me), but I do miss RJ doing play-by-play.

my all-time FAVORITE Sabre game, I was there that night Max was my boy, my FAVORITE player and the pure happiness and joy you hear in RJ’s call as that puck slides through Lundqvist’s pads makes that particular hockey game extra special to me! 💙🎙💛🍻

Rick... I remember so many times in the truck with my dad, or at my friend Drew's house. You were that constant voice. I always heard that lul in a hockey game. Then you would build this action. This action turned into momentum. It continued to build into a fever pitch. All of the sudden *bull horn* scooooooooooooreeeee! You set a scene. Painted a picture. Cemented a moment! I can only sum it up in 3 words. WE LOVE YOU.

For being there when my mom was ill and for being there when I had to bury her a few weeks after my dad was killed in a car accident. I'm 53 now and you were the constant - you kept me grounded. I don't know how you did it, but you did. Thank you for that.
