Brilliant. Thanks for taking the time and going through the little details such as the clip on the fuel latch thing. I feel brave enough to remove mine now. Cheers mate!
I removed the fuel filler door catch by releasing the catch from behind with a straight screwdriver on the passenger side then the driver side with a small bent tip pry bar and then it comes out intact.
Hey mate I know this was four years ago, but once you got the fuel cap actuator off, it just dangles there and traces back into the car, what did you do with it, cut it off or trace it out and remove it all properly
We made it ourselves in the backyard with the bosses welder. It cost $800 in materials, and we used a bunch of free recycled steel. If we didn't use the free stuff and bought steel instead, it woulda been like $1400
Im sooo close, a few weeks away from building another tray. It'll be a 5 part video series. Part 1 - building the tray Part 2 - installing it Part 3 - canopy fitout/12v Part 4 - roof rack build Part 5 - will be a wheel carrier, maybe some pull out draws, and the total cost of the build. Veryy keen to start soon, just need the $$ haha
Really helpful mate. Cheers 👍 You may know,is it possible for me to put ml tub on mn chassis . I’m about to do this and have heard there a direct bolt up. Thought you may know if this is true? Cheers
Im not 100% sure, but im gonna say yes. A guy bought something off me a while back with an ml triton and he had an mn tub. Also when we built the tray for the white mn we have, we measured the brackets on the tray off my blue ML and the mounting dimensions are the same. Let me know how you go mate 👌
Hey mate, great video, I have a 2018 mq triton, am about to mount my tray, I was wondering if the stock mounts are already level? Will need mounts need to be made or can the new tray be bolted straight down? Cheers
Hey mate, im unsure about the MQ models.. but i know the ML/MN models, the rear of the tray is like 25mm ish lower than the front.. we went to the local alloy place and bought some 25mm aluminium blocks/offcuts for like $5 and they work sweet as
hectic 4x4 nah - replacing bare ml tub with another tub that has drawers and fibreglass canopy installed. Hopefully I can leave drawers and canopy attached for the install 🤞
