Bill, Don't be too tough on yourself. With a family and full time job, I'm amazed that you find time for any reviews at all. Here are a few facts about this viewer 1) I watch your channel because I like you. You seem like a normal, straight shooter that isn't pretending to be someone he's not. 2) My PA-based wine/spirits store isn't very well stocked so I'm looking for basic stuff that I'm going to find at my store. I'm never going to go on a safari for a special release. 3) I'm only interested in scotch & Irish so I appreciate the majority of your content not being about bourbon and more exotic brands. 4) Lastly, I'm looking for education so that I know the best product at the best price for me. I'm never going to spend more than $60-70 on whisky, at least not while I have a family and those responsibilities. Just be you and people that find that pleasing will keep tuning in. Happy New Year!
2023 was a pretty good year. Looking forward to 2024. I am GLAD you cover world wiskeys. Allows us to see some great stuff that we probably pass by. Indian whiskey is quickly rising as one of my favorites!
6:33 European whisky have the same problem. 14:00 Kyro from Finland or Stauning from Denmark. Both use malted rye and pot stills. Something that is not done in the USA. Elsburn from Germany are also cool, they use fresh and interesting casks, similar to Glenallachie.
Hey Bill! Maybe think about a few more Irish reviews outside of March. We’re having a bit of a whiskey revolution here at the moment. A lot of new distilleries opening over the last few years and producing some really interesting bottles. I know you said your Irish videos don’t get many views, but maybe a bit more exposure might improve that. Happy New Year from Ireland. 👍🏻
The thing I like best about Bourbon is that it provides barrels for maturing Scotch. :)

Happy New Year, I’ve enjoyed your videos. They are different from a lot of other one which makes me look forward to them. It’s the variety you have. There is only so many bourbon out there but the whisk(e)y are abundant. You just keep up the good work

Happy new year Bill, I enjoyed the content from 2023. If there was one category you hadn’t mentioned that I’d like to see reviewed more, I think it would be American single malts. I think there are some good ones popping up that people are leery about because it’s not bourbon or scotch. Just a thought, keep up the good work!
Happy new year Bill - You are the best out there with Irish whiskey reviews. Bourbon space is just too much information at this point and people visiting KY pretty frequent so Bourbon 101 awareness is pretty common. Like me and fellow viewers apperciate your efforts on Scotch and Irish whiskeys. Funny being an Indian living in the US I have not been tried many Indian outside of Amrut. Looking forward to 2024 content.
I like what I'm hearing and excited to see your content for 2024. I too lean toward Scotch. It's much more varied than Bourbon. I'm big into Peat + Sherry right now. Maybe think about blind tasting several of them and video that. Happy New Year!
I personally hate CZcams shorts and rarely watch them, I also have no interest in hours long livestream. I’m interested in Scotch specifically available scotches. I like bourbon but feel like I have tasted so many and found 2-3 bourbons I enjoy and I will try others if opportunity arises but prefer Scotch. I bought the Octomore 14.1 last year and look forward to opening it this year.
Don’t be hard on yourself for only hitting half of your view goals. I think I’d cry with happiness at 10% of that 😂 for what it’s worth, I think your channel is great, I could listen to you all day and I wish you all the best in 2024 and hit the goals you’ve set out. I think adding some more “world” whiskies this year would be great to hear your thoughts on them. I feel like each year there’s more and more coming out and they’re improving the quality each time, I’ve just been so into scotch and Irish this year that I’ve also had my head in the sand when it comes to other world whiskies. Hey don’t be hard on yourself! Your channel is terrific! Interesting about mentioning that some other channels might do some clickbaiting to bring in viewers! I agree! Hate it! Do what you can! I see you as having loyal viewers and I can see why! You are a very nice, very relatable person. You make listening and learning fun. It’s brave to start and grow a channel! Having a young family makes things difficult at times and I think any of us who have been there totally get it! Hey even with older teens it takes away tons of time! We are always parents first!! I think you have amazing integrity! There are a few ppl with channels who mention the frequent freebie bottles of expensive whisky that “their guy” gets them - distributors? Who knows? But I have to say that totally puts me off. Big time. They have Patreon! They can pay for whisky. Hope this helps! Cheers Bill!!
I've always been at the cusp of making enough on the Patreon where I could buy whatever bottles make the most sense, but I need to figure out something different to do to give value for my Patreon. Likely I just need to livestream more 😀

Thank you Bill for sharing your thoughts. They sound really cool, and I wish you to achieve not less than 90% of them by the end of this year. Unfortunately I will have very limited chance to follow your steps and try great bottles. That's because I've ended up by living in Saudi Arabia, and alcohol is completely banned here. But I will have some days off abroad to recap the best 😅. But even with this limitations, I will keep following your channel and watching your videos. They are entertaining but educating at the same time, so keep your standard high, that makes you better than most of the other channels. Have a great year, cheers (I wish I can 😅).

Hunting videos are very popular and hot. There are tons of on bourbon hunting videos but very few Scotch or world whisky hunts. Whisky Mystery did it for years but have really cut back to nothing. Their videos of the real boutique shops in the San Francisco area were great. You have very interesting tastes. I'd love to watch you once a month film your journey to find all these different whiskies. Price points are all over the place. Someone with your expertise cutting through the mass of bottles on the shelf to give real shopping advice would be a huge draw.
I don't watch any new channels besides the first 5 or so I started with in 2019 when I got into this hobby, which includes you, because the content and information is quality. I hate all the newer channels with just click bait videos that end up in my feed, I never watch or subscribe. Seems like too many got into it to try and get the freebies from the industry, the only way to do that is lots of views from click bait. They don't offer up any other information besides "omg this is good" and "I taste caramel and oak". Keep up the good work, I'll keep on watching.

Firstly, Happy New Year! There is a lot of good info in the comments section already. We all have different preferences about the type of CZcams channel we follow but I believe the style/nature of the presenter is important ie no click bait, flannel or hyperbole. I'm from Northern Ireland so have good exposure to Irish and Scotch, not so much Bourbon but I do buy some of the bottles available locally or online. I'm not so familiar with Indian, Japanese or other world whiskey. I like your views on Scotch & Irish because they are from someone with a different background, perhaps less likely to jump on a bandwagon! I'm not interested in mixer whiskey whatever it's origin ( not unless you find something amazing) or top ten cheap Bourbons etc. I won't chase overpriced rockin horse shit pours either, I work for a living! I hear that there are plenty of new US malt whiskies of good quality nowadays, perhaps identify some of them as someone else suggested (Roy from Aquavitae has mentioned some), the more exposure they get then the more likely I will be able to buy them. Personally, I will buy fewer but hopefully better quality bottles this year, about two per month in the price range of £50 to £80 give or take. Cheers!

The Starward saga ended up being a funny running gag for me. I was happy to finally get it though. Its unique and really good. I'm looking forward to see what barrel picks you do this year. I like that you want to do more world whiskies. I see some at my liquor stores and always wonder if they are any good but since some of them are pricy I don't get many so it will be fun to see what you get and what you think of it. I finally got around to trying an Indian Whiskey based on one of your reviews and I really like it. Have you ever considered reviewing a rum on occasion? Its fun to get a whiskey drinker's take on rum. I try different rums sometimes and its fun to try something new.
I wouldn't mind trying a rum, but I don't really think I'm qualified.

Personally I like shorter videos. Reviews are great and you don’t have to say yay or nay just tell us what you tasted and such. But if you say you taste coffee and licorice, I know I won’t like it and you saved me a bad bottle that is wasting valuable space in my cabinets and money on a different bottle. I like live streams but I need a purpose and shorter time on line. If you tell me you are going to try the OF in your collection and compare them, I’m game. If it’s a free for all, I’m probably not going to participate. That’s just me. I know you were sick but I really miss your videos. I do IG for the shorts so good place to do them. Just my $0.02…..
Happy new year all. Live streaming is great but would recommend doing short ones - the time zones don't always play along, I really have a hard time forcing myself not to doze off when watching Roy do his thing.
I have long thought about a half hour stream. I think the issue is people coming into it too late to get anything out of it. But I'm also totally game to try anything this year
