This was a very bittersweet story. It was definitly a plot twist compared to the regular manga stories. On one side, there was 7 years of asking her out, which is far more than what an average person would do. She would often tell him to wait another year,, which showed that she was intrested and that its was Keichi's fault for not taking the hint (as must oblivious mc aren't able to do). On the other end, the sheer toxic mindset that Yui had was quite bad. If Yui had a tsundere demeanor, maybe it could of worked in terms of using comedy. But going as far as acting yandere with a blend of himedere (I think) or at least some sort of entitlement defiently threw me off.
Not only that, but Nagisa, a girl who has shown known to be absolutely kind to Keichi, was then was basically rejected by Nagisa by friend zoning her similar to the way he has been friendzoned by Yui. There was nothing I recalled causing Nagisa to be unfavorable, which is generally something required to make Yui the "better pick". Even if Nagisa went the "cupid" route and wanted those two to get together would of helped wrap things up. But now, Nagisa's gonna be sad and all alone at school because a guy finally made up his mind to pick the girl who he thought had no feelings for him in the first place. Nagisa has only proven time and time again that she was hoping to be gentle and nice to Keichi, helping him get with the girl, hoping to have a chance with him. I was just hoping for a moment where Nagisa's toxicity would let lose. Perhaps she just wanted a stupid gullible dummy who she could use. Perhaps reveal an even worse Yandere side that make doesn't have love that Yui posslby had for Keichi.
I know no girl is perfect, and sometimes too good to be true, but Nagisa seems quite alright. I just hope that Nagisa gets her own Keichi 2.0 one day. All and all, this was an extremely good story that went outside the typically norm. It's the kind of story where I really need a part 2.
Edited: After looking at all of the comments, and once again treating this like a reddit, it was quite facinating to see how other's thought. At one point, some people ended up thinking about Nagisa redeeming or saving Keichi. Other's would defiently go the Nagisa path in terms of relationships. Some people even noticed how realistic entering toxic relationship is. Honestly, the story is engaging due to the subversion in expectation. I guess I became a Yandere of this specific story. (I need a life)
