  • It's been nearly a year since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
Leaders promised to be more moderate than the last time they were in power.
But 12 months on, the international community refuses to recognise the Taliban government.
Crucial foreign aid is drying up, nearly all Afghans have faced food shortages and most girls are still banned from school.
So what's needed to turn things around?

They report "Nearly 75%of Afghanistan's economy depended on foreign aid" - then when this aid is totally withdrawn suddenly how can the country continue economically without this aid? Would you expect any other country to do so when 75% of the income that the country relied on was suddenly withdrawn? Instead of doing so gradually as they get more economically independent?
They report "9 Billion of Afghan assets were frozen by the US". How do you expect a country who depended on 75% of its economy from aid which is withdrawn and then on top of that their assets are frozen. How can they trade internationally? How can they import necessary food? How can people with no money or very little money buy food when the little food itself has increased in price?
If the Taliban have no money to provide all the people of food - a basic need to survive - then do the Taliban have money to run schools?
How compassionate and humanitarian is it to say do what we say or we will let the people starve? And die? If you are so caring and compassionate that you are fighting for the rights of girls and women then how compassionate and caring is it to let those same women and children die of starvation?
It feels like these kind of reports are of a 'gloating' nature and giving the message 'look how the Taliban are failing. They can't even provide their own people with food'.
They do not talk about the decades of occupation, the decades where the country could not operate and develop normally, the decades of destruction to its infrastructure it's farming and then suddenly expecting the Taliban to solve all this and be thriving country overnight.
If you really cared about the Afghan people, the women and girls then let that caring be reflected in your actions by helping these people by aid and also help and expertise to rebuild the country and help them build the communities destroyed by building hospitals, maybe even schools and don't make your help conditional on Taliban actions.
And Muska says that most of the men are not being paid for their work then how will the women be paid if they were still working? They won't be paid so how will they get food?
Oh and Moazzam Begg the British man kidnapped, tortured and held in a Guantanamo prison was in Afghanistan under Taliban rule was helping build a school for girls and stated in an interview he did about 8 months ago that it is not true that they did not allow girls education.

Obviously the previous government could not support its own people without that aid but the Taliban should ..... No aid and all their assets frozen and no international trade as sanctions so that no bank deals with them. It is 'the international community' that has frozen Afghanistan's assets and then why should the Taliban not point out that it is the international community who should also bear the responsibility of the abysmal situation in Afghanistan? Had their assets not been frozen and they could do business and import, export then the economy may have been better and the population not suffering to this extent? The international community never gave the Taliban a chance as it does not share it's values and making the rights of women an excuse for forcing their values on another country.
Where is this international community's caring and compassion when it comes to Palestinians people's plight? The oppression, the killings, the stealing of Palestinian land at the hands of Zionists in Israel as the international community stays silent and allows it to happen FOR OVER 70 YEARS?
Where is their caring and compassion when the rights of women in France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, etc are being eroded. Oh but wait these Women in European countries are Muslim women and by taking away their right by making laws so they cannot dress as they wish to in public is not considered taking away their rights to choose in a democracy but 'freeing them' from oppression by their men, by their religion, by their culture! Why are they not speaking up for these women as by taking away their right to cover up if they wish too you have taken away their right to go out in public life, get further education, work in public services companies and institutions if they do no comply!

less corruption, more money in the central treasury, security on the roads have improved, and they are eliminating isis, and the other insurgents. Taliban are the best thing to happen to Afghans. They would be like africans/latinos, cultureless with no culture other than worshipping white people in europe/america and hating themselves

There is no proof that theres less corruption and more money in treasury, that's just propaganda. Whats true is that hunger is more prevalent and less jobs for the people. They are going back to 15th century

@@alcubz2622 they said it in this dialog. You make claims that others you were supposed to have watched, already proved as wrong. Get over it. As it is now, the proof is as they said in this video. Going off their talking points, you have zero argument. Just propaganda you brought here.

I love how the media is trying to bring up previous issues to blame the Taliban for it. Afghanistan was always a poor country, Afghanistan always had malnutrition, unemployment was always an issue, Afghans were migrating to Turkey and Europe before the Taliban came to power . Child brides was always there. Afghanistan was #2 in corruption after India before the Taliban. They make it seem like it just started a year ago. Leave the Taliban alone, They’re building there country the right way. You know I actually I would feel safer walking in the streets of Afghanistan than walking in the streets of NY and California right now thanks to there sharia law!

There was an interview with a Taliban leader which explains this treatment towards women really well. It's more or less like the situation in Saudi Arabia and other conservative Muslim majority countries. It's a struggle between the political elite who want to make the western Christian governments happy for obvious benefits and the religious elite who do not like the western Christian governments and want to do things their own way.
