Ok il finale è una storia a sé nella storia del pianoforte, ma le note veloci della mano destra che accompagnano la melodia nell' intermezzo mi fanno venire i brividi ogni volta

Sometimes composers want a sound that requires so much skill and musical understanding that almost no pianists can create. But Michelangeli was special.
This is the warmest, most imaginative performance I have heard of the Faschingsschwank, one that reconciles me to this strange but fascinating piece. Richter's performance (on CZcams) left me cold, but this ...it's just beautiful. Thanks for posting it!
Grazie tanti, è veramente un miracolo, questo incisione (è live! Che livello!) . Bellissimo, bellissimo. Questo brano di Schumann è suonato come una lunga storia umana, con tragedia, umore, malinconia, "sehnsucht".

Lascia stare gli errori, hai espresso perfettamente il modo perfetto con il quale ABM suonava Schumann... È proprio una storia, un continuo di emozioni, come uno spettacolo di teatro, che rimane impresso in chi ascolta...

+Maria Quaranta Per me Robert Schumann è stato uno dei più grandi geni della musica mai esistiti purtroppo sotto considerato. La sua sinfonia n.4 per me se la gioca con quelle di Beethoven tranquillamente.

During the same London visit, he also recorded this for the BBC - that version was issued on LP in the UK by BBC Enterprises, and in Germany by DGG - I've always considered it the benchmark performance.
