"I tie my skates as the pink light of sunrise fades from the surrounding windows. Stepping onto the ice, I begin skating, the wind fiercely buffeting my face. The biting cold of New York nips at my skin. Every fiber of my being is attuned, yet the world is silent-an immersive bubble of physical sensations I surrender to.
It’s been two decades since I last skated alone, let alone improvised. Doing both now feels deeply exposing. But as Jordan approaches, speaker in hand, I release my inhibitions and allow myself to dance with him and the music, embracing them as my partners in this newfound creative space.
