Great explanation! I don't even own this bike YET, but watched to see how hard this job might be. You guys make it look very straightforward.
This was an excellent video. Very good of you to share your expertise and your experience. Big thanks from California to you!!
When using the micrometer, tighten using the smaller diameter handle on the end. This has a spring ratchet that clicks to say it's just touching. The larger handle is to release or tighten when there's a large gap.
This video made me decide to take the Versys to a professional for the valves - but I adore that you have a Versys 650 and a Honda VTR-1000f. I have these same two bikes.
Good video guys!
Has to be the best instructional video I have seen, I have a versys, and watching you remove the stick coils brought back painful memories, as I had to get the Stilson on to get mine out, took me a while. Thanks, I now have knowledge of how to do the valves
Nicely done chaps, will help if I tackle my '08 ER-6f sometime soon-ish, it's just past 19k miles and is a little tappy happy, got a few other bit's need doing first, so I'll be back 👍
Give me locknut and screw tappet adjusters any day of the week. Oh and an engine i can get at.
its 2 am i just finished this i have no clue how i did it but it is done and now my motorcycle runs SUPERB! thank you
Great video. This convinced me to get an NC750 which is much less of a hassle.
I found this video very helpful and completed the task without any big problem. My '09 with >35,000 mi had all 4 intakes in the middle of the range-OK All the exhausts were 3.06 shims and on 3 of them I went down to 3.00, 2.95 on the fourth to get the right clearance. My wife thinks you talk like the Beatles. Thanks!
Just watched this again. Really great video
I can do most of the regular service myself but I don't feel too confident on my skills to attempt a valve check and adjustment. I think I'll take my bike to a professional just for this job! Great video and I'm a bit surprised that you have less than 1000 subs, you deserve much more than that!
Great video, Gents!
Tg i bought a dr 650,Goodness to you wow 2 take all that stuff apart to adjust. Crazy
Well done mates! Very useful and informative along with some very helpful tips for a rather labour intensive job. Cheers!
I'm italian and i understand everything ,great explanation, thank you
