You just have the creative knack! The way you mix materials and colours looks effortless and you can feel your passion. You are a true dressmaker to a fairy!!! Or fairies!!! Just so dreamy and gorgeous. Love your vids Helen, there always exciting and inspiring. 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Megan, that's really kind. :) I do love making fairy clothes!
Idk what with me today these are about to make me cry so beautiful
Oh my gosh, thank you so much Roxy!
Everything you create is so beautiful and inspirational ! ♡
Thank you so much Julie, that's so kind. :)
Loved watching this - Really pretty fairy outfits in such gorgeous colours and fabrics.
Thank you Dawn, so glad you enjoyed it! I love those fabrics!
Time for a mega Helen catch up :) x
Loved this! Glad I'm not the only person who buys knicker elastic in bulk - just in case. 😀 Mine was thinner and I'm using it to make masks. My sewing team and I have made about 2,000 masks so far. Can't wait to get back to wedding gowns. Would love to see a camera and equipment video. 😀
Wow - 2000 masks! That's amazing! I was considering diversifying to masks, but I don't know if I have the patience to work on something small and fiddly. And they probably aren't great if they're wonky, and most things I make are wonky!!
Thank you for the camera video idea - I'll definitely film that soon for you. :)
Hello, nice video! Good work! 💕
Thank you 🤗
They are really very pretty, Helen. I've started a Fairy Garden Party as a fundraiser for my ballet studio. You have inspired me to make my own outfit out of old leotards, ballet skirts and bits and bobs from around my sewing room. Is there an instagram # for homemade fairy outfits? Thanks for another great sewing video.
Thank you Amy! Ooh, I'm sure you could make some lovely things with old ballet uniforms! Let me know how you get on. I don't know of a particular instagram account for homemade fairy outfits, but if you search #fairycosplay quite a few come up that might help with ideas. :)
OMG Helen !!
I just read about Chris having Covid-19 ! That's so awful, I do hope he is on the mend now and you and the girls are OK too.
I didn't know about the pain in the head/scalp !
please take care,
I know, it was a shock to us too! He's recovering well, thank you, and the rest of us are fine. :) The scalp thing is rare - it only happened because Chris had it so bad.
Hope you're well. :)
Another lovely video, thank you.
Why is it that you can never find the very thing you are looking for ? everything but ......!
I know the feeling well.
Thank you for the info about sewing with silk, I'll try that needle size, I've always had problems with it puckering.
Also, how come when you show shots of your machine looking upwards into the needle section, why is it always so pristine ???? mine is full of bits of fluff and cat hair !
I agree with you that the first version of the pink skirt didn't look 'right' definately not 'you'
much better after you recut.
Also, how do you fasten the tops, are they pull on or tied at the back ?
Hi! Thank you! Clearly my camera isn't high definition enough! Haha!
Yes, the first skirt just didn't look right all straight and almost normal-looking!
The tops tie in a bow at the back. :)
I think it is 60 or 8 in needle size
