yeah i realized that when i rewatched. bridge starts at mm 9. he outlines the chords pretty clearly not sure how i missed that.

Agreed! If I hadn't heard the whole solo I could believe he was playing flugelhorn right up until the second page; very impressive to get that sort of timbre on the trumpet!
