  • Step-by-step DIY instructions of the Wunderlich Tank Bars installation on a 2021 BMW F750GS 40th Anniversary Edition. Same instructions apply to the F850GS model. Also known as BMW Motorrad.
    Installing crash protection on a motorcycle is worth it and can help eliminate or reduce damage if the motorcycle ever falls. Frame sliders and crash bars are some of the most common and most effective ways to minimize crash damage. Crash bars like these are cheap insurance and will probably pay for themselves if you ever drop your motorcycle.
    A great example of how effective crash bars are is in my other video, which shows how to repair scratches in crash bars after a fall. In that case the crash bars fully protected the expensive bodywork and saved me hundreds or even more than one thousand dollars.

    This was very useful. Much easier than reading the manufacturer's instructions.

    Dan...Thank you for the easy to follow directions. I saved 350.00 doing this myself and believe me I'm no mechanic! These bars are super nice and very well made.

    Thanks for this. I got some bars from Amazon and the instructions didn’t make sense. Your video is what made me install mine correctly

    Just bought an F850 GS and wanted to see if I could do this myself and which tools I’d need. Thanks a lot, this was very helpful.

    I bought mine with upper and lower (BMW) bars already fitted. However, I never go off road and pretty confident I'm not going to drop it now, so was thinking of removing the upper ones to make it look nicer. All my friends said keep them on though in case!

      Keep them! I think those bikes look pretty sharp with the bars,🙂. You can also mount stuff to them, like lights or highway pegs if you do a lot of long trips. I might post a video on that soon.

      @@danondemand That's a great point. Yes on reflection I'll keep them.

    Hi there, what a great video you made! I'm looking for some crashbars, but there is zo much choice! is there a reason you chose the crasbar from Wunderlich? of did you also have a look at others? like Touratech, outback motortek or SW motech?

    • @danondemand
      @danondemand  Před 8 měsíci

      @joyn8 there are many good options and even the inexpensive no brand options work reasonably well. I picked these because of their quality. They're really well made and all the mounting points lined up perfectly (unlike the cheap Amazon ones I installed on a G310R which required a bit of force to line up)

    I have the same bars on my bike, thanks a lot for the tutorial, but I have a small inconvenience with them. While installing them, I realised BMW decided to put the coolant inlet right below the bmw logo on the right side of the bike. With the upper bars installed, it is impossible to reach it as there is not enough space to remove the plastic where GS is written. Any solution?

    • @danondemand
      @danondemand  Před rokem

      I haven't checked my coolant since installing the crash bars but that's a good point. The only way may be to remove the right side bar. I'll take a look and post an update if i find out otherwise...

    When you were fitting the tank bars. I noticed you had a steering damper fitted to the bike, did you fit that and if so can you advise the make /model. I appreciate your time. Best wishes.

    Hola, Is it the same for a bmw 850 GSA?

    • @danondemand
      @danondemand  Před rokem

      The installation should be very similar, but please check the Wunderlich website to make sure you get the right part.
