Normally I am a big proponent of game preservation efforts, but I sincerely wish Amy wasn't still for sale on the Xbox marketplace so I could have avoided playing it. That sentence could use another draft or two but its not gonna get one cuz this game doesn't deserve it.

Might be a fun concept for a game to try if you can simultaneously control the escortee and the combat is fun.

To be fair there can be an excuse for such a protag that got caught off-guard in a ghost mansion or at a fancy party or something.

I vaguely recall this game getting hyped up before its release and everyone saying "oh man its gonna be so awesome, you get to explore this relationship and stuff". I think Yahtzee described it as "the worst part of any game extended to a whole game" or something like that. The Last of Us then released and promptly wiped any memory of this game from history.
I think the timeline is a little bit off.... Amy and Last of Us have almost a year and a half between their release dates...
Personally I don't remember any of the hype for the game but it was 2011/2012... I was probably playing either Halo, Cod, or Battlefield tbh XD

@@aceo3773 Yeah the game was already forgettable enough as it was, I just think it's funny that The Last of Us basically did the same thing a year and a half later but better and completely deleted it from reality. The only hype I really recall for it was seeing an interview about it on G4 I think. The network was on the way out at the time if I recall correct so they were basically trying to just get anything and everything about gaming on there.
People were pretty excited because there was a BIG actual horror game drought at the time.
I remember reading the review in GameInformer when it came out. They got one of the little blurbs at the back, and the rating was like a 3.
I remember watching my mom play this and her immediately reaction was “this isn’t like resident evil this is fucking trash”
I remember reading about this game when it wasn't out yet and thinking "sounds neat !" Then I never heard anything else about it up until 10years later thanks to Obe lol I guess it says everything about the game !

Honestly though, the mirror working, I feel you are underselling that as a plus point. Modern triple AAA games often don't even having working mirrors. Amy 10/10.

4:09 Fun Fact; The reason triple A games dont usually have mirrors is because they need to render the game twice to give the ilusion of reflection, and they consume a inhumane amount of resources that is just not worth it for most developers.

We're both just recent enough and digital archiving/backwards compat is a current issue that we remember 6th and 7th gen stuff.

I think Two Best Friends played this a long time ago and I vaguely remembered it for the next decade. This is probably the first time anyone has even seen this game in years
You know, we have seen some odd games on this channel, ranging of ‘fun bad’ to ‘kinda enjoyable’, with stuff from in between. Hell, some of these games I’ve added to my own PS3 list. But this…it would be a sin to add it.

You have to think in the mindset of the developers. Most French flee from combat, which gives the chance of any bites or scratches to infect them.
I bought this digitally on PS3 when I was a lil kid. Couldn't play it and have not touched it since, completely forgot this was a thing and I'm glad I didn't miss anything lol

My dad bought this game when I was younger and I remember having to block out the room light _just_ to see the TV.
Then I got stuck on this stupid stage and got so bored and confused that it made me dizzy so I never played it again.
Bonus points if you play this again with the Mushroom Armor to tank the Scarlet Rot early on.

If you need another super jank game to rip into, give Gene Troopers from 2005 a shot. It's probably one of the most obscure and weird OG Xbox/PS2 games I've ever ran into. Also you can die in the first dialog sequence by being too sassy.

The developers of this game closed up the studio after releasing this masterpiece. This game was so malevolent and unholy that destroyed the very studio that created it.
