I bought extra food coloring last week, with the intention, of dyeing...this past week. I haven't got to it or time to research using food coloring just yet. Although I may dip my pages I will use a brush to brush extra on the pages. Thank you for sharing your process. 🤗💛🙏🎨🍀

Guess I am way behind the 8 ball here... just learning the paper dyeing for junk journals. What are the measurements used for food dyeing paper? many drops food color to how much water? Thanks!
Hi Valerie, I discovered this process by trial and error. I wanted paper of colors. i will be doing a new paper dyeing tutorial soon, but meanwhile, I use little individual custard/sorbet cups, fill about 3/4 full of water, then just drop food coloring a couple drops at a time until you see the depth of color you want, like a couple drops for pinks, several drops for red. Yes, I did splotch on sketch paper, as well as tracing, printing, ledger paper and much more. That's what is so fun, each time you get something totally different in patterns and colors!
Do you ever dry your papers in the oven or do you find the colour is richer if let to air-dry? I have never tried dying paper but plan to do so. Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi dc sly. I have not tried oven baking yet, it takes time because you can only do so many pages at a time & I have an electric oven & it's expensive here. So that's why I chose air drying. I just cover my dining room table with plastic & lay out papers you can get quite a lot of paper at one time. Whether you're using coffee or food coloring, the stronger the mixture, the richer the colors. Since my video, I tried scrunching up my paper 1st then, kinda smooth out before adding coloring. Gives more textured lines in paper when it dries. It usually takes only a few hours to dry one side, then flip & do that side & let dry overnite.
