We sang this in my HS in America in the 1990s and I’ve seen it in hymnals, but it’s a different melody abd only the first two verses. I love this version, though!
@@conservetruthalways Just because someone doesn't believe it, doesn't mean they don't understand or even empathise with it. Contrary to common Christian thought, most of those of us who are agnostic have not "hardened our hearts", "turned away", or "hate God." We simply have applied to Christianity the same requirement for evidence that we've applied everywhere else in our life. But for songs like this - Hope and Music are both universal. We can inhabit both.
One of my favourite Christmas Songs of all times. Magnificent.
❤
A voice that does those lyrics justice.
Sheer perfection! What a moving song.
Gives me goosebumps every time! Love how she sings the word “hail!” with such passion
I’ve never seen this before and I actually like this one 👌🏻👍🏻
fabulous from Annie.
Love this woman and her voice
Happy birthday Annie
One of my favourite carols
This song never made it across the pond as a classic Christmas carol. It’s a shame, because it’s beautiful song. Happy I finally discovered it.
You're wrong!
At least in Norway

SANG IT OVER 50 YRS AGO AS A SOLO AT MY SCHOOL CAROL CONCERT IN THE UK. I BELIEVE IT’S STILL SANG HERE TODAY 🙂
It is on the Apple playlist-I am in the US and this is a favorite :)
Not what I would have expected from Annie Lennox. But actually really good..
Love you somuch miss
😢😢
:3
where's DC?
Sings that song as if she were not an agnostic. Such a shame...
I had never heard of her or the song before now. Is she really an agnostic? If so makes you wonder how she can sing this song with she conviction.
❤❤❤
