The way of st. James seems amazing
Thank you for all of this information! Iâm currently planning my first Camino and Iâm doing the Portuguese coastal route đ
Your day flows exactly as mine do when Iâm walking the Camino! I could do this same routine a thousand times!
Love that!! There's something about the straightforwardness that makes it so satisfying and incredible :)
I have been binge watching your camino via Portugal, starting with day one. I watched your first one too.
Oh, the places you are and have, taken me. Thank you so very much!
thanks for coming along :)
I love your candor, whimsy and positivity! Bon Caminho!
thanks for watching our videos! Bon Caminho!
I loved the walk to Pontevedra. In the forest where the statues were there were two pop up cafes. I noticed they were not there when you were there. There was also a bagpipe player but I missed him sadly. That was September last year.
I love your bakery stops & commentary! They make me smile every single time because you both look so happy!! Reminds me of how we are too anytime we are in Europe. đ
the bakery stops are part of the fun!! :) thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing! We're planning the same one next year so really awesome watch all your videos aa a great guide! Thank you! đđđ„đ„đđđ
Camino seems like an awesome thing to do as a couple. This really seems like you two get to experience a lot of great things together on the camino.
We agree!
Really great editing and tons of useful information... but I just have to say, Lisa, I think the key to your Camino needs to be a café con leche every day!! (or several) :) One of my very favorite rituals on the Camino.
you're so so right :) nothing beats it!! :) thanks for coming along with us!
That comment was hilarious. ..live there all day.
Exactly, Berger King or McDonald's feels wrong in Spain or Portugal, but they're a franchise. ...I wouldn't eat that in any case.
Loving this and longing to go on my own journey đ«¶
hope you get to soon :)
Take care, guys!!!
thank you! :)
this is the second video of y'all's that i am watching. lol. i think as an oldster, this camino...but starting in tui instead, is going to be one i will try to tackle. do you have any advice about starting in tui vs porto? also in terms of time off i can get this is the more likely one to happen in my life at this point. ps can you address bio breaks (ie using/finding a loo) whilst camino-ing?? thanks...
You guys are definitely more relaxed on this one. You released the video on Thursday. In Hawai'i. That's a travel Thursday đą
travel Thursday, travel Thursday!
Love your videography! Is this series really filmed with a 10-18 zoom lens?
Josh⊠dude.., YOUR backpack looks âtinyâ and Lisaâs looks Huge.. can you give a Lady a helping hand đ€Łđđłđ«¶đ»
Can't wait for September to come. I'm sure I'll figure this out when I'm there. Wonder if there are restrooms along the way other than at cafes. Or maybe I'm worrying about that too much đ€Ł
theres not. Always go into a cafe if you see one and think you might need it.
Hello, thanks for sharing! Iâll do the same trip in May. Do you think is better to stay the hole way in the coast route? I am really in doubt here⊠đ«
Dont you think there more history and beatiful villages in the country way?
Good question! Mine too!!!
Love your Taiwan flag pinâ€Thanks for the tips weâre doing to our Camino in 2 months!
buen camino!
Love the recap and practical advice. A nap? Cool! But eating late and having that nap, you still sleep at night? Do some pilgrims make midday meal their big meal? I guess you might miss out on some yummy food doing that? HummmâŠ
Hi. Is there a LOT of busy road on the central route? Also, is it easy to find accommodation? I'm thinking of walking it in January. Thanks.
Man we just missed you guys. Weâre a day out from Porto. Started in Lisbon. Itâs been up and down so far. Two questions for ya. 1) how many miles did you average per day? 2) since you loved the coastal route, weâre the distances of each stage tough or pretty manageable? Thanks in advance!
Just watched the video that answered all these questions! Coastal might be calling us!
Airalo seems to have great plans for data but no cell service for phone calls to non-WhatsApp numbers. Do you use a different e-SIM for that?
We transferred our number to google voice so that all our calls and texts go over data :)
What a shame that you have not met more fellow pilgrims. I guess that's down to the time of year you chose to do the route.
agreed! we met a few as we got closer to Santiago, but it's definitely quieter in the winter
How many Kmâs/miles are you guys walking a day.?
Iâm doing the Frances in mid-October this year.. Iâm a bit worried about less daytime hours..Iâm nervous.. tgat I gotta leave at 6 or 7am {gasp} in the Dark with a headlamp to be able to knock out say 20kms to be able to get to the Albergues by 1 or 2pm to get a bed đź-ideas.. suggestions⊠Iâve only got 5 days⊠of course I could do 10kms a day⊠if I had two weeks.. so Iâm crunched on time- days and daily mileage.{đideas?}
we walked about 15-20 km / 8-10 miles a day, sometimes less, but met plenty of people along the Portuguese and Frances routes that walked less and were always able to find a spot in the albergues. We walked the Frances in August, so I think it was the busiest time, way more people than typical. so I wonder if in mid October, it will be less busy or hot. The best advice we received was so walk at our own pace and find a place in a way that was comfortable to us. we found that booking a place in advance was more our style, others would walk and find a place whenever they were ready to stop. we found that no matter the busyness, there was always an albergue spot open for someone. :)
Pontevedra (GALICIA)
Just curious.... what happens if you do need to do a No.2 in between hostels / stops? Just wondering if there are any tips or "unspoken" rules?
Three days before I leave for Porto but I have done the Norte, two years ago. To answer your question. Luckily, my body was on a timer, and this wasn't an issue for me, but one time in the country I had to do it, and I found a side road that wasn't used much that had sides to it that also hid me, but I did it right there in the middle of this dirt road/trail. I do recall seeing other people off to the side and down off the trail doing their stuff and they had lookouts to help keep them safe.
Also timing it to happen during a break or lunch where there were bathrooms.
@@jackg7225 Hi Jack!! Thank you soo much for your response, really appreciate it and yes, I see.... so pretty much "go with the flow" kinda thing a guess!! ;o) So ideal situation is to train the body clock! Got it! Exciting to hear you're about to do you 2nd one! Hope it all goes well! So you chose this month cause of the weather? or because of the timing of your holidays?
@RobertVicencio I spent 5 days in Porto in August waiting for my ride home 2 yrs ago, and knew it was too warm for me, so I considered last fall and that quickly went by, so spring time was appealing to me.
@@jackg7225 Got it Jack! Will look into it! Thank you again
are you using Google voice for phone calls/texting?
we use a mix of Google voice, imessaging and WhatsApp
@@LisaAndJosh awesome thanks. I going to travel all of 2024. It's seems like Google voice is the way to go. I just need to learn how to setup porting and how all that works with 2 step verification.
Hi, enjoying your videos. Is your currency exchange in $USD? Thx.
