You could do a punk stream similarly to how you do Metal Meltdown--appreciating all the different sub-genres...until Cookie Monster takes over.
Nah, but seriously, you could let people choose classic, early US, early UK, Oi!, hardcore, straight-edge, Dbeat, crust, crossover, Ska...

Originally a metalhead, but in last 20 years or so I delved very deep into punk subgenres like hardcore punk, crust, d-beat, crustcore, stenchcore, powerviolence, fastcore, grindcore, mincecore, beatdown hardcore, Oi! punk, anarcho-punk, post-punk etc...
It really shows you how much extreme punk influenced metal to became more faster, more abrasive and more extreme. Without these styles the most "extreme" metal band would possibly be Judas Priest or Accept. Not to mention that early 80s hardcore punk and adjacent styles are much more extreme, harsh, more angry then 80s metal as a whole. People usually just stay at surface level appreciation for the most mainstream bands and styles are don't know that this stuff even exist - it isn't marketed in corporate media and there is very few if any reactions channel or any reactions at all for this kind of music. Metal usually gets much more media coverage. In part because of DIY nature of punk, in part because the punk trend never caught on except for mainstream pop punk of early 90s to early 2000s.
I second Discharge as one of the biggest influence in creation of thrash metal and invention of extreme metal (brutal thrash, death, black, grindcore). GBH is also pivotal UK82 hardcore punk band along with Exploited, Disorder, Chaos UK and Varukers that helped from UK side of things, while US had Negative Approach, Agnostic Front, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, DOA, MDC, etc..
Also, usually very few people realize that growls, blastbeats and fast drumming proper is originally a punk thing, metal just incorporate these extremes into its sound later on, from mid 80s onwards.

Dri and corrosion of conformity both predated Stormtroopers everybody don't realize that corrosion of conformity in the very early eighties were a crossover punk band

You can go further back then that. Venom for an example or early Hellhammer, both bands that grew up on Motorhead, Tank, Judas Priest and similar NWOBHM bands but also very steeped into punk scene listening to not original '77 punk but also the beginnings of hardcore in early 80s, before the crossover trend came into public view. When you hear very early black metal, aka first wave from 1981-1984, before SOD or the established crossover bands you can hear much of hardcore punk being a part of this musical formula. A big part, I would say.
Those crossover bands weren't yet categorized under crossover "label/tag" but were definitively early precursors of the style. Also not to forget early UK crust punk scene. Early crust sounded extremely dark, heavy, apocalyptic with harsh vocals, dark subject matters etc which at the time when Venom and Hellhammer were doing their first recordings, they were already creating this unholy metalpunk hybrid.

Awesome stuff. This took me back to my HS days. I was in the Crossover Thrash/Punk/Hardcore scene. I was jamming to Suicidal Tendencies (ST4L!!), D.R.I., Deadhorse, Verbal Abuse, Cryptic Slaughter, S.O.D, The Exploited and Discharge a lot back in those days..Then I went into the Death Metal and Grindcore scene after seeing my first concert (Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Carcass)

I assume this will be Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, Fishbone, some early Red Hot Chili Peppers, Biohazard, Powerflo, Billy Bio, ...not sure if P.O.D. would count with some tunes.., ...trying to think of others..

Can't think of anything worse than a mixture of punk & speed metal? During the punk movement ( the real deal) which started in England mid 70's ( I was there) they had some creative bands come out notably The Clash ,and others, who had great meaning lyrics . I liken it to hip hop which was fun at times and had a lot to say ,then it morphed into some really nasty rap! I think rap artist are turning it around to more accessible and meaningful content. I'll have to check out this punk/ speed metal stuff...but I have a feeling it's going to be 👎
